I stayed here with 6 people total, and we were all very comfortable with the amount of space this barn offered both in the bedrooms and the field adjacent to the barn. It’s wonderfully decorated and my group spent tons of time outside around the fire pit playing games and having s’mores. The host was very quick responding to my messages and accommodating. Although the one bathroom may cause issue for groups greater than 6, we did not have a problem with it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!
This is a charming little property. Myself, my husband, and our six kids (ages 15 to 25) stayed here for 3 days and though the house is small, we never felt crowded. We brought our two medium sized dogs (standard poodle and a bernedoodle) and there was plenty of room for them too. The only thing I would tell people to note is there are several different levels to floors in the house and there was some difficulty in navigation for my blind daughter. So if there's someone with VI in your party, that might be something to consider. Adorably decorated.
Its a nice place to stay. It was a reasonable price. Its close to good restaurants and easy access to the 35 so you can get to the bigger cities quickly. Two of the doors inside do not shut completely. They just dont latch. It wasn't a huge deal to us but it might be to some. Also two of the room are partial walls into the living and kitchen area. So if you want or need a lot of privacy this might not be the place for you. We didn't mind and the place was very clean and the decor was very cute. It was a nice quiet place for us and our kids and we would stay again if we're out that ever that way.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for choosing to stay at our barn cottage! We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the quiet surroundings, convenient location, and charming decor. It means a lot to us that your family found the space cozy and relaxing.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the interior doors and the partial room walls. The layout is designed to keep the space open and airy, though we understand it may not be ideal for guests needing complete privacy. We're currently exploring solutions to improve latch function on the doors and will take your note into account as we continue to enhance the guest experience.
Thank you again for staying with us and for your kind words. We'd love to welcome you and your family back anytime you're in the area!
Warmly,
The Gibbons Family

Definitely not what we were expecting. I think the host should be more transparent with the listing, instead of labeling the property as they did. This “micro barn” has extremely uneven flooring that they use copious amounts of rugs to cover. There is no central heat or air (in the winter they expect you to manage space heaters) The ceiling in 2/3 bedrooms would be way too low for any person over 5ft 5in tall. There is a step up to enter the kitchen that should be marked better, and the flooring on that edge is coming up and cut my husbands toe. The curtains provided for the windows are all sheer (except for the front bedroom) which doesn’t make you feel like you have privacy. There is a trashcan for the kitchen that holds a Walmart bags worth of trash, which was kind of inconvenient with 4 people. We also didn’t like that you are required to wash your dishes by hand, and there is no dishwasher. This is unsanitary as you are relying on the last guest to make sure the kitchen ware you use is clean. But the absence of a dishwasher means that nothing is sanitized. Host: please get paper and plastic ware. I think the most frustrating part is the fact the host is not transparent in their listing of the stay. They highlight the things you can see and hide the things you can’t, like space heaters for heat and extremely uneven floors. If we paid 200 a night, KNOWING that’s what we were getting it would be one thing. But we feel like we were duped.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the stay did not meet your expectations.
We strive to be transparent in our listing and descriptions. The property is clearly labeled as a microbarn, which reflects its unique structure, layout, and charm. This includes lower ceiling heights in some areas, uneven original flooring, and a step up into the kitchen, all of which are visible in photos and noted in the listing. Rugs are used intentionally both for comfort and safety.
The listing also clearly states that there is no central air. Central air includes both heating and cooling through ductwork. Instead, the space is equipped with alternative climate control, including a window air conditioning unit rated for up to 800 square feet and separate heating options. These details are disclosed so guests can make an informed decision prior to booking.
Regarding the flooring near the kitchen, we take safety seriously and have already planned improvements, including added lighting to better highlight the transition area. We are currently in the middle of a very extensive insurance claim related to flooring and roof repairs and have been actively waiting on approvals since March.
The kitchen setup, including hand washing dishes and the absence of a dishwasher, is also disclosed in the listing. The trash can size reflects the compact nature of the space, and we are always happy to provide additional bags upon request.
Privacy concerns related to window coverings are noted, and this feedback is appreciated as we continue to improve the guest experience.
We understand that this style of accommodation is not a fit for everyone. Our goal is to accurately represent the space and host guests who appreciate its unique character. We appreciate the feedback and will continue making thoughtful improvements where possible.
