Enjoyment and relaxation await you when you arrive at Oma Ella's. This two bedroom home is located on 168 acres just south of town. The original house was built in the late 1800s and was a two story rock house with outside stairs accessing the second story. It was made of a “rubble stone” (there is a partial of the exposed rock found behind glass in the hallway). In 1940 your hostess' parents Leo and Ella Hartman bought the house and removed the second story. While they were redoing the house they lived in the smokehouse still found in the back yard. The original front porch is now an enclosed porch and the windows were ordered from Sears & Roebuck. Your hostess remembers many wonderful memories of this great farmhouse, barn, creek and farmland.
Entering through the front door leads you into the living/dining room. The living area has a sofa and two comfy armchairs all facing the 40” flat screen television and the electric log fireplace. A dining table comfortably seats four people. The kitchen is on the back side of the house and is fully equipped. A large island is in the center of the kitchen. There is an electric stovetop/range, large refrigerator, coffeemaker, dishwasher, microwave and toaster.
There are two bedrooms both with queen beds and both are handsomely topped with tasteful comforters and pillows. There is a bedroom with tub/shower in between the two bedrooms. The back bedroom is spacious and has a collection of antique men and women's hats. Both bedrooms have 32” flat screen televisions. There is also an entrance onto the enclosed porch. The porch is a wonderful place to relax with it's comfy table and chairs. There are photos of your hostess' parents when they were in the process of restoring the house. Very interesting and fun!!
There is so much to do in this beautiful countryside. Walk down the road to the Meusebach Creek or just enjoy the countryside. Although the barns are working barns and not for guests you will enjoy looking at their mystique and perhaps see cows in the pens. Besides all of that you will enjoy an abundance of wildlife and birds.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was so peaceful and relaxing. It was just a short drive into Fredricksburg and the owners hospitality is unmatched. Loved the baked goods and farmhouse feel.

Nostalgic and serene stay
Oma Ella's was amazing! The antique furniture and decor is beautiful and tasteful. The beds are comfortable, and the entire home was clean, inviting and we enjoyed breakfast being provided. The sitting/sunroom has a gorgeous view. We will stay here again when visiting Fredericksburg in the future.

Outstanding!!
This was our 5th stay at Oma Ella! My wife and I find this to be the perfect little getaway place when we are visiting the Fredericksburg area. We love how close it is to everything, yet it is basically out in the middle of nowhere. The house is very nicely equipped. Everything is modern and up to date. The only thing we do miss is wi-fi. The most delicious baked goods magically appear, so we never go hungry!! I'm sure we will be back again before too long.

lovely rest!
The weather was cool and wet during our time in the Hill Country, so we especially appreciated the cozy comfort of Oma Ella's. Plenty of space and a lovely, scenic view of the farms around the creek valley. We really enjoyed having breakfast in the comfortable sunroom. And the bread was marvelous!

Peaceful & Beautiful
I loved the house & learning it's history. We ate breakfast each morning on the enclosed porch looking out on beautiful farm land. The owners brought us baked goods that were incredible. I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

Wunderbar!
A wonderful, cozy little farmhouse, far enough from town to be seclusive, close enough to enjoy all sights and activities Fredericksberg has to offer. Fresh-baked goods were delivered every day, along with eggs and sausage for breakfast and a complementary bottle of wine to boot.

Great home in Hill Country
I really enjoyed my stay here. I felt like I was at my Oma's old house with the cows in the fields and the creaky old wooden floors! Host left us some welcoming cookies, wine, muffins and breakfast fixings. Kitchen was very nice and equipped with most of what was needed. The bedrooms are huge and beds were comfortable but a little firm for my son. We would love to stay here again and spend a little more time.
This place was the neatest, cleanest place you could imagine. Perfect location just outside of town and had everything you need to enjoy time away from home. Fresh baked goodies upon check in and more showed up as a surprise the next day also... 😍
We LOVED our stay! The cottage had great vintage charm and updated kitchen and bathroom. We enjoyed walking down to the creek and seeing the cows every day. My 17 yr old daughter loved the instagram picture opportunities of the country. Breakfast fixings on the first day and fresh baked bread / goodies every day! Leola is the perfect hostess! Thank you!!

Perfect Stay
I rented Oma Ella's for my daughter and her husband over Thanksgiving. They were blown away by the extras that were provided!! There was a bottle of wine they opened and sat out under the stars and drank. There was also homemade breads and cookies for them and my grandson. They loved it all so much!! My daughters favorite thing was being able to sit at the antique vanity and get ready for the day. Over all this was a great choice for their stay and we will request it in the future for sure.

Peaceful Retreat
My friend and I came out to see the Bluebonnets which were amazing this year! We stayed in 5 different places during our travels and I must say that Oma Ella's was our favorite! The peaceful farm setting was perfect for us city girls as we were transported back to our country roots. We walked to the creek several times and even met the sheriff's deputy who gave us photo tips. We loved reading about the history of the home and seeing photos of the sweet couple who lived there. The farm fresh eggs and baked goods served as breakfast and even supper some nights! In fact we ate on the spice cake at our next stop! Oma Ella's is definitely at the top of our list for next year!
My two daughters and myself stayed at the property. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast foods were supplied as well as baked goods. It was only 5.5 miles from downtown Fredericksburg. We enjoyed the quietness. The house was decorated with antiques which I adored. The house was very clean with everything furnished.
OMGOODNESS, such a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful place. Soooo loved our weekend stay. Loved the delicious homemade bread, cookies and banana nut bread and bottle of champagne to celebrate our 45th anniversary and our friends 20th anniversary.. We will definitely be staying here again. Loved it, thank you.
