- Do I need snow tire chains to get to Big Bear ? During the winter months, carrying chains on you is almost always required unless your car is a four- wheel drive. Storms may be unpredictable and therefore it helps to have them. Additionally, during the winter months, the CHP may stop you to see if you have them and ticket you if you don't.

I think this was one of the cleanest stays we’ve had in Big Bear. Decor and furnishings make it feel like your staying with family and friends. Some stays can get tacky and worn, this one was interesting and fresh. Beds, pillows and towels were clean and plush. Quiet neighborhood, great peek at the lake and overall excellent stay. Would like to stay again.
This property gets two stars only for its prime location and beautiful lake view. The house has great natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows, and the heater worked well.Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was extremely frustrating. The biggest issue is that there is NO access to trash cans on the property, which is not disclosed anywhere in the listing. Guests are required to drive their trash to a dumpsite despite paying a cleaning fee. I have stayed at many properties and have never been required to take trash offsite.Check-in instructions were not provided automatically. We had to ask, and when they were sent, they were incomplete. There was no guide or binder, and the Wi-Fi password was never shared—we had to find the router ourselves. The house sleeps 8, yet for a 3-day stay we were given only one roll of thin paper towels, no napkins, no laundry detergent or dryer sheets, and no HAIR DRYER. The kitchen lacked even basic items like oil, salt, or pepper. There was a coffee machine but they only provided opened bags of coffee grounds, which is not sanitary.Cleanliness was unacceptable. Kibble on the second floor at check-in, which means either their cleaning crew did not vacuum at all or they did a very bad job. Found hair on bedsheets, dirty cookware, and a bathroom that needs re-caulking. One TV couldn’t be used due to a bent plug.Great location, but poor cleanliness, poor communication, and lack of transparency ruined the stay.
