This apartment is owned by Port Clyde Kayaks. Though we are new to hosting a vacation rental, we have been in the hospitality business for 25 years. Please check out our 5 star review rating on google. Your host, Tamara, is a registered Maine sea kayak guide and is be happy to help plan your paddle excursions and have parking access at two different boat launches. Upon booking you will get a 20% discount off of all kayak rentals and tours during your stay. We're happy to assist with any questions while you stay at our apartment.

Cell phones: Although coverage is getting better, there are some places where cell phones don't have good reception. Chances are you will have service, but just in case, make sure you leave the number of the house you are renting with those who may need to get in touch with you. Coverage with AT&T can be spotty in many areas of Maine.

Weather: If you have heard it once, you've heard it a hundred times: if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute. It can be hot in Rockland and cool in Port Clyde so make sure to pack a variety of clothes — from a bathing suit for hot days to a sweater for cool evenings. Check out the current local weather at www.weather.com.

Bugs: A lot of people ask us if we have mosquitoes...we sure do. But they aren't huge and they don't ruin a vacation. Bring some repellent, or pick some up at the local general stores and you will be fine; usually, you won't even notice them.

Water: We are on town water. The water has been tested and is safe to drink, but some guests prefer bringing bottled water.

Shopping: There is a general store just 4 miles away in Tenants Harbor and the local Wal-Mart is 16 miles away in Thomaston.

About a 35 minute drive, the town of Rockland is a bustling vibrant community. It is famous for the arts and many fabulous restaurants.
