About this property
Highmeadows Estate in the heart of Bluemont Virginia
The Manor Arthouse at Highmeadows Estate is a single family villa located in the heart of Bluemont Virginia near wineries, breweries and the small historic towns of Western Loudoun and Clarke counties. Situated on 15 acres, our front gates are on one of the state's history byways - Blueridge Mountain Road. We are a peaceful family-run retreat in the heart of wine country, close to Washington DC and all of the small hamlets between the nation's capital and Virginia's picturesque wine country. Sitting atop the Blueridge mountains and next to the Shenandoah river, you are truly in John Denver country. The Manor House is for the exclusive use of guests (single rooms are not let individually), although two smaller cottages are available for a multi-family group or to accommodate extra guests on request. The exterior decks, fire pit and proximity to world class hiking (Appalachian Trail), Great Country Farms (a pick your own farm to table venue with a petting zoo and other activities for adults and kids), and water fun at Harper's Ferry or Watermelon Park make Highmeadows a perfect destination for those who seek peace and the outdoors. Highmeadows is a quiet retreat - it is not possible to see neighbors from the property - with large mature trees and manicured gardens and walking paths throughout. The property has been listed on VRBO for several years and is a preferred property on the platform, but a recent software update has deleted our reviews unfortunately. As we work to rectify this issue, you can see reviews of the property by searching the Highmeadows name; there are more than 600! We look forward to hosting you at Highmeadows and welcome any questions or inquiries. While we are unable to host wedding and other events, we can accommodate friends and visitors stopping by; just give us a message to inquire about specifics when booking. Highmeadows is an adult venue, not suitable for young groups or parties, although children and younger adults are welcome with family. We look forward to hosting you and answering any questions you might have. With kind regards, The Highmeadows Team.

Why they chose this property
Highmeadows Estate is a 15 acre mountain-top historic retreat dating back to 1896. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, and other founding fathers have been documented hunting the mountain estates stretching from route 7 to route 50, now defined as Blueridge Mountain Road or Route 601. Designated as an Historic Byway, Blueridge Mountain Road is a two lane winding tree-covered adventure bisecting the Loudoun and Shenandoah valleys. Estates overlook the Loudoun Valley to the East where the Washington Monument can be seen, and to the West past the Shenandoah River. Highmeadows Estate sits at the apex of Blueridge Mountain Road and is the only flat meadow property on Route 601. A short walk down from the Estate is Bear Chase Brewery and a short drive away are many historic towns and vollages, including Middleburg, Upperville, Harpery’s Ferry, Leesburg, Lucketts, and many more.
