Penthouse Suite in the heart Sylvan Beach Resort

Located in the heart of the beautiful fun filled resort village of Sylvan Beach, this 4 bed 2 bath third floor suite overlooks the lake and village. The owners working with an architect, building engineer, general contractor and renown decorator restored this historical building, which was originally a Post Office in circa 1870. They renovated the old third floor boarding house in 2017 to create a luxury apartment in the sky. Sleeps 6+ adults/children. Walk to beach, restaurants, and the famous Amusement Park.

It’s a beach atmosphere here and the flooring, colors, furnishings and decoctions reflect the beachy theme as you can see from the pictures. The panoramic views from this tallest building in the resort are spectacular. The view includes Oneida Lake in the front, Erie Canal in the back and village restaurants and entertainment to either side. A renown local decorator, Rosanne Smith, worked with the owners to detail the apartment furnishing and finishing. There are double beds in two bedrooms and Queen Size beds in the two master bedroom suites. One master bedroom suite has its own bathroom, featuring a dramatic ceramic tiled shower area. The second full bathroom is large and has nice view of the canal.

This luxury apartment/condo is housed in an historic building with Greek columns making it an iconic center for the resort. The bottom floor is the home of the famous newly renovated Pancake House restaurant.

The penthouse condo kitchen includes granite counter tops and new stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a new clothes washer/dryer. The huge covered porch overlooking the village and Oneida Lake includes luxurious outdoor furnishing for dining and relaxing. The sunsets over the lake and the sunset view from the penthouse is breathtaking. This amazing view from the historic, tallest beach building buttressed with the Greek columns includes direct oversight of the popular “What’s the Scoop” Ice Cream Shop!

If you need additional space or want to scale down there is also a two-bedroom condo on the second floor. This condo is also fully renovated and has a huge covered furnished porch overlooking the resort and lake.

We just returned from a 5 day stay and this property was just as advertised. The apartment was very clean and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect! Just steps to the beach, amusement park, and many restaraunts! The local ice cream shop is even right next door! We would absolutly book this property again!

Very clean, nothing needed except your toothbrush and toothpaste! Fully equipped with anything, right down to bed sheets and beach towels. Can't beat the location either!

Graduation getaway

We had a lovely stay at the penthouse. Clean, cute, great view of the lake. Enough space for 5 adults. Coffee was good & strong. A highlight was breakfast at Pancake House downstairs. Delicious!! Less fun was the fire station "air raid" alarm that went off early morning 2 of the 3 days we were there. That caught us off guard & very unpleasant. Otherwise, a great stay.

Our family of six adults enjoyed staying in the penthouse suite at Sylvan Beach. The apartment was beautiful and comfortable--the perfect place to relax and have some meals together during a very busy Syracuse U graduation weekend. It was too early in the season to explore Sylvan Beach, but the apartment would be an ideal place to stay for a fun summer vacation. The place was sparkling clean and full of amenities. Lynn, the owner, and Tom, the manager, were very responsive and friendly.

The property was nice, clean. However, unbeknownst to us the lake was completely unusable due to algae overgrowth, and apparently has been that way for much of the summer . Very disappointed as the town amenities are limited and there wasn't much to do. Would have been helpful to know we couldn't swim in lake, as we would not have scheduled the trip. Some transparency would have been appreciated!

Beautiful condo in great location

My husband and I and our three young children had a wonderful stay! The condo is wonderfully clean, fresh, beautifully decorated, cozy and it has everything you could possibly need. We especially loved the porch. We enjoyed listening to live music from the porch while eating dinner at the table and the sunset view is amazing. The location is also great if you enjoy being in the middle of the action. It was fun and convenient to walk right downstairs to the pancake house for a delicious breakfast and next door for ice cream. We walked right across the street for dinner and spent the day at the park and beach. Overall it was a great stay and central location for us to visit with my family.

Beautiful Property

The location was wonderful and it was a step back in time, to small town America. Breathtaking view from the upper porch. I would highly reccomend renting this unit. It is decorated in a great beachy theme! My only comment would be prepared to bring your own items to use. We got in very late because our flight was delayed and nothing was open. You need to bring pods for the coffee maker because no coffee, sugar or instant creamer in kitchen. Bring laundry soap for the washer and shampoo and conditioner for the bathrooms.

Thanks Michelle for the nice review. I am sorry that we did not have coffee pods sugar or creamers there for you. There is laundry detergent in closet in bedroom closest to the laundry area. Soap, shampoo and conditioner were also available in the master bathroom vanity under sink. I did reach out to make sure you if all was good. Not sure if you got that email. Fun Labor Day Weekend in Sylvan Beach

We had great stay at Sylvan Beach. The apartment was beautifully remodeled and well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen, bedding, towels and some toiletries. Location was perfect with a short walk to everywhere. Ate at the Pancake house downstairs twice with rave reviews. Would definitely visit again!

Nice Stay!

This was a very nice property for our family. The house was VERY clean and the owners provide everything you need for your stay. Most other homes we have rented, you get a starter pack of paper towels, toilet paper, etc. This home rental included garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee pods for the keurig, creamers, basic spices, laundry detergent, etc. It was nice not having to pack all of that stuff. The beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows/bedding in each closet. If you are TV people, be forewarned that there are no TV's in the bedrooms... just a TV in the living room. We made due with tablets, phones, etc... but for us, we missed having the TV's in the bedrooms. This unit was on the top floor of The Pancake House and access is in the rear of the building, next to the dumpster - so it wasn't very pleasant smelling every time we entered or exited the unit... but. not a huge deal. The stairs to the unit, while not a problem for us, were pretty intense and might be a problem for anyone elderly or with bad knees. The porch was lovely and we enjoyed sitting out at night, listening to the live bands at Harpoon Eddie's. It happened to be pretty warm this weekend and we felt that adding a fan or two out on the porch would be a huge benefit. The porch also seemed to be a breeding ground for spiders... there were so many. All in all, we truly enjoyed the place and appreciate the care in which the owners obviously take in making sure that this is a good experience for their guests!

100% Recommend for a visit to Sylvan Beach

We came up here for the 4th of July weekend. The space is newly renovated and with three - four couples, it was the perfect fit for us. The covered deck overhang was such a treat to be able to hang out / the property had a huge table with chairs, a couch, two additional chairs, and a hammock. Great for people watching. Great view of the lake. Everything was perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough. The amenities included were a wonderful touch. Walking distance from absolutely everything. The pancake house is delicious. The ice cream shop next door is delicious. Parking was super easy / you have the lot in the back of the property to leave your car. Thank you so much, Lynn, for everything. We had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful apartment in great location

We were pleasantly surprised to find that this property actually looked slightly better in person than it did in the photos, when usually the opposite is true. It was very clean, nicely decorated and well appointed with everything we needed. Our favorite part of unit was the large porch/balcony that overlooked the lake and the main street. We spent the majority of our time hanging out there. We would definitely return to this property!

Perfect Summer Get-Away!

My family and I had the best stay here! The apartment was spacious, updated, clean and bright. We enjoyed the view of the water from the deck and even got to hear live music some of the evenings from there. The ice cream shop next door was so good we had to go every day. The pancake house right below for breakfast was absolutely delish. We were able to walk to the beach every day and float in the water and my daughter had a blast at the arcade and amusement park. Everything was walking distance. The owners were helpful and very chill, they made sure we were enjoying our stay but otherwise let us do our thing. Overall this was the perfect summer get away.

A really nice apartment. It’s a climb but very nice and everything was updated. AC worked great, very clean. Right in the heart of the village and you can see the lake. We would stay again.

Dan and Lynn Cifonelli bought this iconic building in January 2016. They started with the restaurant renovation and re opened the Pancake House May 22 2016. Its been well received for great food and service! Many who come in share their fond memories of this restaurant since its been a staple in Sylvan Beach for the last 50 years! It has been brought back to its yester year charm with a clean fresh look!

Why they chose this property

We bought this building because we saw the potential to make this building shine again. We are from the area and Lynn's father Joe Rizzo has owned What's the Scoop Ice Cream shop for the last 22 years. With family around it was an easy decision to make. Now we have added an brand new third floor condo/apt with its own covered porch over looking Sylvan Beach. In addition there are 2 apartments on the second floor which are available for rent as well!
