Adorable Bonne Chere! Hot Tub, Dog Friendly, Walk to the Russian River!

Bonne Chère is, as its name suggests, the ideal spot to kick back, relax and enjoy the good cheer and splendid food and wine that Sonoma County is known for. After a day of trolling for tasty finds (perhaps a new favorite bottle from a family-owned winery or a creamy goat cheese made near the Sonoma Coast or the freshest picks from one of the various farmer's markets), imagine relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine in Bonne Chère's comfortable living room, cooking a feast in the gourmet kitchen, lounging on the spacious deck or taking a soak in the private hot tub.

From a recent guest, "This is the cleanest and most cozy rental we have ever stayed in! We are having the best time and I wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful space. It is absolutely lovely."

Inside Bonne Chère, guests will find the home both delightful and modern. The kitchen is stocked for even the pickiest cook, and includes stainless steel appliances, gas stove, dishwasher, beautiful wood cabinets and tile, and a wine fridge. The living room has a large television, stereo (there is a CD collection available for guests), gas fireplace and ample seating. In both bedrooms, the beds are exceedingly comfortable and made with high-quality linens. The bathroom has modern tile work and a walk-in shower with a window so guests can admire the redwoods and lush hillside while showering (a window curtain can be closed if desired).

Outside Bonne Chère is an extension of the living space. There is outdoor dining, outdoor seating, a gas grill and a private hot tub area. The property continues to wrap around the house to a 'secret' sitting spot, perfect for enjoying a locally roasted cup of Joe or stargazing with a glass of wine. Tucked against a hillside in a Guerneville neighborhood, Bonne Chère feels like its own little private world. Although there are neighbors to both the left and the right, the landscaping around the house and the hillside behind the home provides redwood views and privacy. The upper yard is mostly fenced, but not dog-proof!

Bonne Chère is located in a Guerneville neighborhood a walkable distance from downtown Guerneville. Shops, restaurants, supermarket, river access and services are all within a mile of the property. The Sonoma Coast is 13 miles. Armstrong Redwoods is a 5-minute drive. Wineries in the Russian River Valley and beyond

Parking: There is space in the driveway for 2 vehicles (Garage is used for storage and not available for parking ). RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

This is a wonderful property that made our very rainy stay cozy and memorable. It's close to the river, shops, and restaurants, yet surrounded by redwoods that make you feel like you are truly away. Would definitely stay again!

We will be back!

Absolutely loved our stay here and discussed making it a yearly trip. The house was clean and comfortable. We walked to the river, enjoyed incredible scenic hikes, and are very tasty local food.

We had such a wonderful stay at Bonne Chere! The house is so comfortable, you immediately feel right at home. The outside is as enjoyable as the inside. It is beautifully landscaped, and the hot tub was a god send after a tough hike at Amstrong Woods State Park. We would love to come back and enjoy another stay sometime.

Property was beautiful. We totally enjoyed our stay. We actually extended it a night because we were so pleased with the place. The only down side is the one bathroom with access only thru the master suite (which wasn't and issue for us but would be if there were 2 adult couples).

Beautiful and Charming

The cottage was beautiful, peaceful and very nice. We enjoyed the outdoor space and spa. The indoor space is bright and warm with all the amenities needed. The location was ideal to outlets such as Bodega Bay and Healdsburg. The neighborhood was a bit run down but we just stayed in the beautiful hide-away and took advantage of the privacy.

Relaxing in the Redwoods

Bonne Chere provided the perfect getaway for my husband, dog and me. Literally everything you would ever think of needing was provided. Everything was in great working order. The hot tub had a small issue but the property management team took care of everything right away. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice Vacation Rental in Guerneville

Our family of 3 enjoyed our stay at Bonne Chere. The beds are very comfortable and the house is well stocked with everything you could need. We especially loved the hot tub and outdoor spaces. The extensive DVD collection was nice to have as well. Although we were in Guerneville during some hot days (in the 80s) the house stayed cool as it’s in the shade of redwoods. The neighborhood is eclectic/funky as is the town of Guerneville. The location was central to enjoy much of the area’s great road cycling routes, which was the main goal of our visit. The shared bathroom was not a problem for our family but may be awkward for non-family groups. The rental process was very easy and I would rent the property again!

We had a fun time in Guerneville and at this darling house. Very comfortable although only one bathroom in master was strange for our guests. Loved the deck for dinner and drinks under the large Redwood trees.

Love, Love, Love this place. Amazing home, so well equipped, spotlessly clean, everything we hoped for. Just perfect. Special mention to the cooks kitchen... with every dish, pot, pan and tool you need if you like to cook. Short stroll to a great BBQ restaurant at the end of the road too... comfie beds, great service - cant fault it.

Refreshing, relaxing weekend away

We had a refreshing, relaxing weekend away. A little cramped for four people and one bathroom that was through the master bedroom. Also, there were no trash bags, only four towels, and one roll of paper towels upon arrival. However, the hot tub, kitchen amenities, closeness to town, and access to streaming television made for the weekend we were hoping for.

Great place to just relax

My wife, puppy girl and I spent a great 5 days here. This place is in a neat little neighborhood close to downtown Guerneville. Check in a was very easy and directions were a piece of cake. This is the kind of place where you walk in, put away your clothes and you are home! Stop at a winery or 3 for some great wine, pop into Safeway for some snacks and you won’t want to leave. Thanks for a great place to get away!

Very bonne!

Our stay at Bonne Chere was very nice. It is in a great location very near Guerneville and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The property is well maintained and the house is very clean, cosy and inviting, nicely decorated with modern appliances and very comfortable beds. We were two but four could stay there easily. I'd like to stay there again!

Great place!

Perfect place for a long weekend. The house is beautiful and fully equipped with a modern kitchen, large decks, BBQ grill and a hot tub. The neighborhood was quiet but close enough to downtown Guerneville. Something to note is that there is only one bathroom and it's located in the master bedroom. Not bad if you're staying with close friends/family and are comfortable sharing. Second bedroom is more of an alcove off of the living room and does not have real doors to separate.

Wonderful Vacation

We had a great time at this lovely home! The Kitchen was great and the beds super comfortable. Perfect for my husband and I and our 5 year old. We hiked the redwoods and went wine tasting while our daughter went to Farm camp at the Waldorf school. Something for all of us and nice family time hanging out at the house. We used the hot tub every day! Perfect getaway for our needs.

Comfortable and clean

My wife and kids stayed at the Bonne Chere for 4 nights in early April. We found the house to be perfect for our needs. Full kitchen, hot tub and nearby stores may the visit very relaxing. If we are back in Guerneville, we will certainly be staying here.

Wonderful Weekend

Had a fabulous weekend at this rental property. Had been to the Russian river before, but only as quick visits. Was a great decision to decide to stay for a few days and explore with the family. This house was the perfect base. Loved the wooded valley it is located in (went walking every morning) and the ease of access to the beach (both riverfront and ocean). We were able to prepare quite the gourmet meal in the full kitchen with all the amenities - which was then consumed on the spacious deck (where we spent much of the weekend). And relaxing the secluded hot tub was the perfect ending to the evening. We will definitely return when we are looking for a get-a-way.

In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.

Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.

Guerneville is also home to the amazing Armstrong Woods, and it's just a quick drive out to the coast! Guerneville is a fun and free spirited town that makes for a great getaway!
