Wonderful place to stay in Chico. Close to downtown, walk to Bidwell park. A very well equipped house with all the amenities to make your visit a breeze.
Entire house was clean and filled with pretty much everything one needs for an extended stay. Parking was no problem - parked right in front of the house. Neighborhood is quiet and has many of the older, charming homes such as this one. It's pet friendly and communication with the host is stellar.I sincerely highly recommend this home for your stay in Chico.
Nice stay for a wedding weekend in Chico. Plenty of room for the 5 of us and two bathrooms for getting ready was perfect. Quiet corner and easy to park.
Nice little house! Would have been roomier without the 3 bikes in what should have been a dining room.Found several spiders in the stored linens closet of the front room. The window air conditioners are filthy, window screens and sills are filthy too.one of the sitting pillows of the living room couch has a broken zipper.Front and back stairs have no handrails and are dangerous in that way.Brian the property manager was really nice to communicate with. Check in was easy because of him.Property would be acceptable with some cleaning and handrails in and out of the doors would make it safe.
Loved the location. We walked everywhere around town. Shubert’s was just SO close, we got ice cream daily. House was perfect for our needs. The outdoor table and bbq in the garden was wonderful. And of course, drinking morning coffee on the patio as we “people watched” was really nice too.

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
We arrived and quickly realized there wasn't A/C per the posting because it was 87F in the house. After we fully checked the property we found cobwebs, dead & live bugs, broken locks on windows, locked attic room above, fridge not cooling properly, heavy dust on cabinets, and the couch in the living area was not a sleeper as posted. The host, Brian, was very responsive, but appeared to be a part of a property management team and not the actual owner. Not a big fan of how it all went down upon arrival since we had driven over 14 hours from Phoenix to work all week. Hoping the host updates the stay or the posting. We were refunded, but I had to deal with Vrbo to get that going prior to the end of the reservation because it was never indicating we checked out the very next day.

I'm Sorry things didn't work out Justin.
The air conditioners are window units and we take them out for the Winter because they can be a bit drafty. Typically It's not 80 degrees in March. My apologies for not having them back in for you visit. We recently outsourced the booking, cleaning and maintenance to a third party. Apparently they haven't been doing their job. We will be having a serious discussion regarding their continued services due to your experience. Thanks for bringing these deficiencies to our attention. They were supposed to change the photo of the couch as well.

Brian

Clean & cozy place - perfect for 2 with easy walk to downtown and to Bidwell park. Only wish is for better/more kitchen towels and more glasses. Enjoyed our stay!
We had a very comfortable stay in a great location. Short walk to Bidwell Park and downtown to the eateries. The yard was perfect for our two small dogs. The house had a very chill and relaxing vibe.
Gorgeous walking neighborhood near park and restaurants
The house's spacious kitchen is a gathering place. And the front porch is great stop for parents and to kids returning from school in the PM.
It's also an ideal location from which to explore the town's restaurants, shops, museums and much-loved park.

The house is darling! Loved the kitchen and living room areas and having a fenced yard for our dog was a real help. The neighborhood is quiet and a very easy walk to Bidwell Park. Walking distance to a good restaurant for breakfast too!! It was wonderful.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
The location was good, you can walk downtown and are close to shops and restaurants. I hesitated to leave negative feedback but I do feel others need to be aware of our situation so they can budget and plan accordingly. After booking we were told we had to pay a fee for our dogs.. I had added the pets during registration but when asked about it later the host said it's possible the system didn’t keep that information when the booking was finalized and payment was processed and that occasionally the platform can miss details like that..In the description it states, "Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees". We were charged a service fee, cleaning fee, and a fee for each dog. In the policies there is no mention of this either. The photos of the backyard are not representative of what it looks like now. No mulch, just dirt and overgrown shrubs. BBQ was dirty. When we arrived the cushions for the furniture were all stacked, the curtains in the kitchen were dirty, and there was no soap in showers and only one dirty roll of toilet paper. The host was responsive and said the crew would drop off items but they did not. He did offer to reimburse me for soap and tp if I submitted a receipt. The carpet needs to be replaced, it was dirty, dark and old. The extra fees were unexpected and so was arriving to a VRBO with one dirty roll of TP, no soap, and a neglected backyard.

About the host

I grew up in Chico and have since moved to Lake Tahoe. After much time away, more of my family is returning to Chico so I'd like to keep my house available for friends, family and of course, myself to stay in.
What makes this property unique
I love staying near downtown and being able to hop on my cruiser bike to check out the farmers' market, go for a burger & beer at the iconic Sierra Nevada Brewery or cruise through Bidwell Park and enjoy the cool greenery. Of just wander downtown to hear the Thursday night concert and eat at the food trucks, or partake of the fine cocktails created by our expert, local mixologists.
