About this property
Deerfield by Carolina Mornings | Log Cabin w/Mountain Views & Fire Pit
Nestled within the serene beauty of "Heart Ridge Cove" in the Burnsville/Mars Hill area, Deerfield is a newly built retreat set on over 100 private acres. Explore scenic timber trails and soak in stunning long-range views, including iconic sights like Mt. Mitchell and Craggy Pinnacle, from multiple vantage points across the property. Designed with care and comfort in mind, this upscale log cabin features two primary master suites, providing a peaceful and luxurious mountain getaway.
Inside, the main level showcases an open-concept kitchen and dining area complete with a custom-built island crafted from local oak. Step out onto the expansive covered deck and unwind in one of four rustic log rocking chairs while watching the morning mist drift through the valley. A nearby gas grill and fire pit make it easy to gather for meals, stories, or s’mores under the stars. Upstairs, a cozy loft landing offers twin-size bunk beds—perfect for younger guests or extra sleeping space. Both master suites feature king beds and spa-like en suite bathrooms with clawfoot soaking tubs and walk-in showers.
Though tucked away in nature, the cabin is just a short drive from area attractions. The Appalachian Trail - Sam's Gap is only 12 minutes away, with Mars Hill University and the Southern Appalachian Repertory Theater 13 minutes away. The charming downtown Burnsville, with its local shops, eateries, and vibrant arts scene just 15 minutes down the road. Be sure to catch a performance at the historic Parkway Playhouse or explore the nearby Penland School of Craft and its gallery. Weaverville, a scenic 20-minute drive away, offers award-winning restaurants like The Twisted Laurel and Stoney Knob Café, along with local breweries and the beloved Well-Bred Bakery.
For those craving outdoor excitement, zipline at sunset with Navitat Canopy Adventures in Barnardsville (25 minutes away), or cool off with a swim or tubing adventure at Carolina Hemlocks Recreation Area, located just 30 minutes from the cabin. Mt. Mitchell State Park—home to the tallest peak east of the Mississippi—is only an hour south and offers an unforgettable day trip. Other nearby hikes include the picturesque Roaring Fork Creek Falls and the scenic Blue Ridge Pinnacle & Rocky Knob trail, filled with wildflowers, native mushrooms, and birdlife.
In the winter months, the newly rebranded Hatley Pointe Ski Resort (formerly Wolf Ridge) is just a 15-minute drive and features ski runs and dining at the on-site Smoke and Timber restaurant.
No stay in Western North Carolina would be complete without a visit to Asheville, just 30 minutes away. Known as the “Paris of the South,” Asheville is home to the River Arts District, the North Carolina Arboretum, and the famed Biltmore Estate. Sample award-winning cuisine, browse unique galleries, or tour one of the many craft breweries in this eclectic mountain city.
Planning a group getaway? Consider booking the neighboring cabin, Cubs Den, a newly constructed home available on the same property. Heart Ridge Cove isn’t just a place, it’s a passion project. Its heart-shaped boundary reflects the love poured into creating a truly special guest experience. Come see why guests return again and again, and grow with us in Heart Ridge Cove!
