Light and open, this modern adobe rests on ten acres overlooking Abiquiu Lake towards Ghost Ranch, with gorgeous views in all directions. Picture windows throughout the living area allow you to appreciate the vistas from the comfort of the well-appointed interior. The covered portales (covered porches) are ideal for enjoying the tranquility of the environment. Admire the view of the Pedernal from the portale off of the master suite, or take in the iconic landscape of Ghost Ranch while you grill on the portale off of the kitchen.

Spend your days hiking, visiting area galleries, or reconnecting with your own creative side. And after enjoying the unique sunset at the end of the day, savor the starlight of the unadulterated night sky.

This was my third stay at John’s lovely casita this year and I’ve loved experiencing the high desert in three different seasons. The casita is exactly as listed, clean and so well stocked and John is a super host, easy to communicate with. I especially enjoyed my long rambling walks right out door, the stillness and incredible nighttime starlight. As an artist and someone who cares deeply about this part of NM, I hope to return soon and without a doubt, this is the home I’ll return to. Thank you John, for sharing your special home.

This was my second stay in John’s special casita and I can’t rave enough and worry that if I do, I won’t find an opening to return. As others have written, the casita sits on a slice of heaven. Stunning views in every direction, super tidy/clean and exactly as pictured in the photos. Super easy to communicate and great directions to this remote spot. I will definitely return and I’m giving this casita 10 stars! Thanks John!

This was our second visit at this remarkable property - the last time was 2 years ago - and this time, we were smart - brought groceries with us - and settled in for many nights. That said, Abiquiu and Bode’s General Store are only a relatively short drive away. My husband took a painting class at Ghost Ranch. The views and the peacefulness of the surroundings are incomparable, and we have resolved to try to come back every year. The host is always extremely helpful and responsive to all our needs, and the house is very well-equipped. Highly recommend.

Amazing views. Comfortable, clean, and well-appointed rental with beautiful art and a high-end feel. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. The road in is rough and unpaved. Expect your car to need a wash.

We have been staying here for several years and truly love it. Casa Bonita is equipped with everything you need. Shopping is available at Bodies in Abiquiu or Espanola. You are a hour from Santa Fe and Taos. The view is Spectacular! We will be coming back.
