Island Winds East Units: During Spring Break, mid-May through mid-August, Labor Day, and the Shrimp Festival event, each unit is allotted one (1) parking pass, regardless of its size. Extra parking options are available offsite, and please note that these arrangements may be subject to change.
On-site paid parking is available and managed by the property's HOA. Parking passes can be purchased upon arrival and are valid for the duration of your stay. Please be sure to display the pass clearly on your driver's side dashboard at all times while on the property.

Impromptu Getaway

We had a great experience at this condo! It was very clean, great area within walking distance of food and the main strip, the view was great and place is very nice! I highly recommend staying here!

Great place

We arrived late at night. Found the office easily and obtained our room code and info. Very pleasant encounter. Room was exactly as described and everything was perfect. We couldn’t turn on the tv in the master bedroom but because we weren’t going to use it anyway I didn’t report it until we left. Very pleased with the property. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Nice property but smaller than expected!!

This property is nothing fancy but it was clean. Our 2 bedroom unit was a lot smaller than it looked in the photos. The people working at the property were very friendly and helpful.

The living room was a little smaller than expected from pictures. There was two random tables that took a lot of space up in the living room. The living room wasn’t cleaned well before we checked in there was trash under the couch. Other than that everything including the location were really good.

Nice Condo with Great View and Location

The condo is centrally located with views on to the gulf. It was clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. My only complaint is that there were no extras provided. For example, there are no beach chairs or umbrella , there are no extra toilet paper, paper towels, zero dishwashing liquid and only 1 packet of soap for the dishwasher. We ended up buying 2 beach chairs and an umbrella and left them at the condo. I hope they keep them available for the next renters.

Great location, come prepared.

The unit was nice, and in a great location. Even though right above the pool, the sliding windows cancelled all the noise from outside. The unit had a broken hair dryer (like smelled like fire as soon as I turned it on), and a broken motorized shade in the master, went down and then never would go back up. I called office to report, but no one came to fix these things. Bring extra toilet paper,. Bring salt and pepper, oil, sugar etc. there is nothing in the unit. It also had no blender which seems like a crime for a beach house.

Lack of parking - second vehicle had to be parked down the road in public parking.

Even thought it does say on the reservation confirmation In the small print about Holidays & peak season parking, it should be made very clear before you book that you can only have one vehicle. While you can clearly tell that the condo owners take pride and have made many upgrades, it is still an older building and there are maintenance items. We could not get in the main door - the attendant had to come and literally force the door open - then when we left it wouldn’t latch. This was resolved while we were there. However, the next item was the folding door to the washer/dryer did was messed up and didn’t want to open or close - my husband finally just took it down. The light/ceiling fan in the main living area has a short or something and wouldn’t come on at all for the first couple of days. It finally came on,but sporadically. The kitchen and condo were well equipped. It was a lot smaller than it looked in the pictures. If you are planning to do very much cooking for more than two people, the kitchen does not have a lot of room. Also, there were no potholders or dishcloths I’m the kitchen at all. The large flat screen TVs were nice and it is very clear that the owners have done a lot of upgrades. Overall, we did enjoy our stay & made do with the maintenance items. However, we would not return due to the Parking situation. It should be made very clear that you have to park a second vehicle down the road in public parking and either shuttle with someone or walk back and forth to your vehicle. This condo would be perfect for a couple traveling alone with one vehicle. The management company staff were not the friendliest. It was like we were bothering them and were very rude anytime we had questions.

The pool area was a swearing place for underage Drinking!!

The pool was only tolerated by the Baseball team from Louisiana!!!! Allowing underage teans to drink!!! We paid for 4 chairs at the Beach!!! No onehelped...$140 a day blown on them.... cussing was so bad around these kids(great roll modes). I would not recommend your place to anyone 😒 I am wanting someone to call me for a partial refund or a Friday & Saturday we can do over!!! The cussing should have been controlled On the property

Great place need new mattress bad!

Great place but the master mattress was taco city. Flipped it- it helped but first two nights made for poor sleeping. Otherwise no complaints.

Spring break 2021

Our experience was ok. I have rented other VRBO locations around the country where I did not have to buy my own toilet tissue, coffee filters and trash bags. It was a fine property but they changed the check out time while I was checking in taking an hour off my stay. I didn’t notice I was credited an hour on my bill however. It was a nice location on the beach.

Perfect Little Beach Condo

We had a wonderful stay with our family here at Island Winds. We were nervous about vacationing during Covid-19 but were put at ease with the mask requirements and extra diligence by the property management. The unit was super clean! We ordered fresh steamed seafood to go from the nearby Steamer and ate it at “home.” This unit is on the 3rd floor with exterior stairs so we felt super safe. We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

beachfront amazing

the condo was really good. The pictures make it seem bigger, pretty common, but had all that was promised. The bed was broken, and they fixed it right away. One elevator was out of order our entire stay, this was challenging. It was wonderful, even with the challenges.

Very nice property in great location

Within walking distance to the Hangout, countless other restaurants, convenient store and souvenir stores. The unit itself was tastefully decorated with a large TV. Very clean. The staff was extremely helpful. We drove, less than 5 minutes, to Waterville and road all the go-carts. The water attractions were closed for the season. LuLu's was a great place to eat right on the Marina.

Incredible views + modern upgrades

From the beautiful views off the balcony, to the automated window shades, to the fully stocked kitchen, this condo had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We didn't want to eat out for every meal, so having such a beautiful kitchen made cooking a breeze. Additionally, the condo is located in a fabulous location, so once we parked we were essentially able to walk to wherever we wanted to go. Gulf Shores has a ton to do, and the unit is in such a great location that we were really able to take advantage of that. I don't think all of the other activities beat the beauty of the beach, though, which you could easily enjoy sitting on the balcony. Such a great trip; I would definitely come back to this unit.

Awesome condo in a central location

Our stay was over memorial day weekend and everything worked out so great. The condo is beautifully decorated, there is a fully operable kitchen, all the beds are plush and comfortable with plenty of pillows, there are three huge TVs, and also an umbrella available for beaching. The shore is right outside the condo, only about a 3 minute walk away. Other than the condo itself the place is very centrally located, one can walk to close by restaurants (The Hangout is awesome - free concerts!), souvenir stores, ice cream shops, etc. If you drive just a tiny bit of ways there's go-karting, zip lining, and tanger outlet shopping very close by as well - and the water park Waterville too, if the beach isn't enough :)

Beautiful Unit with a Spectacular View!!!!

We were shocked at the upgrades and the entire unit! We come to Gulf Shores for all our family vacations and try to stay in Inland Winds East every time. We used this unit one other time in our travels and were so surprised at the upgrades. The view has always been beautiful. All of the local attractions were opening and the location of the building makes the use of an automobile unnecessary. After a day on the beach and after dinner at the hangout, we were even more surprised at the ability to check out a Play Station 3 for the kids. This added surprise was a big hit with the kids…And on the huge TV in the living room; we all had a great time! We will definitely attempt to book this unit on all our stays! The office personnel were as friendly and helpful as anyone would ever expect. This was one of our most memorable get-a-ways in a long time. Thanks!
