Architectural Elegance Meets Laid-Back Mid-Century Modern Luxury

The OB Overlook’s three-story layout is designed for privacy, inspiration, and connection.

Enter through the your private side-entrance or through the dedicated garage. After a short flight of stairs you'll be transported up to the second floor where you'll find two, large and beautifully appointed bedrooms each with its own private balcony.

The west-facing bedroom features wonderful ocean views and the soundtrack of distant waves. It has a king-sized bed, a sofa bed that converts to a queen, a 49" Sony HDTV, and generous closet space.

The east-facing bedroom has a queen-bed, dedicated lounge chairs for relaxing and a walk-in closet.

A spa-inspired bathroom awaits you on this floor as well. Outfitted with luxurious Ann Sacks porcelain tile, white Caesarstone quartz countertops, a glass shower enclosure, a double-sink, and radiant heat floors that keep your feet warm on cool mornings.

Each bedroom has dedicated workspaces perfect for remote work, creative retreats, or journaling with an ocean breeze.

Ascend to the third floor, where the home truly opens up. A stunning open-concept living room, kitchen, and dining space: tall ceilings, bamboo floors, and designer furnishings create a light-filled gathering space that flows effortlessly to the outside.

Chef’s kitchen: Fully stocked with high-end appliances, and everything you need to cook or entertain.

Expansive wraparound deck: Your private perch above Ocean Beach. Lounge, dine, or daydream while gazing out toward the Ocean Beach Pier and Pacific Beach Point, north to La Jolla and the sweeping coastline beyond.

With natural ventilation from ocean breezes, sliding glass doors, and casement windows, there’s no need for air conditioning. Cool marine air keep the space comfortable year-round. Radiant floor heating provides a cozy touch during OB’s cooler coastal mornings.

About the host

Hosted by Kristin and Tom

Host profile image
Came to San Diego via upstate New York and New York City. Have found home in Ocean Beach close to the sea and under the sun. Love sharing it with others. Three amazing daughters and a wonderful husband.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Ocean Beach for its unique blend of laid-back surf culture, strong community spirit, and coastal natural beauty. There’s nothing like watching the sunset over the Pacific, walking to grab fish tacos on Newport Avenue, or hearing the sound of waves as you fall asleep.

This neighborhood is truly special—it’s vibrant and walkable, yet still feels like a hidden gem in San Diego. We love how close it is to everything: the beach, the OB Pier, Sunset Cliffs, local coffee shops, breweries, and yoga studios, all just a few blocks away. It’s the kind of place where you can park your car and not need it again for days.

Living here, you feel the pulse of a real neighborhood with deep roots, artistic charm, and a love for the ocean. Whether you're surfing, exploring tide pools, or enjoying live music in the park, there’s always something authentic and welcoming around the corner.

What makes this property unique

From its panoramic 180° ocean views to its clean modern lines and custom finishes, this home blends elevated design with a relaxed, surf-town soul.

What truly sets this property apart is its top-floor living space that opens onto a wraparound deck—offering unobstructed ocean views stretching from the surf breaks of OB toward Pacific Beach Point. Radiant floor heating, vaulted ceilings, expansive sliding doors, and carefully curated interiors create a luxurious but unpretentious space to unwind.

Tucked into a quiet hillside street just a 10-minute walk to the OB Pier, Newport Avenue shops and restaurants, and world-class surfing and sunsets, The OB Overlook gives guests the rare combination of coastal tranquility and walkable access to Ocean Beach’s vibrant community.
