The fall leaves are really starting to pop the last few days with the cooler weather and now is such a great time for hiking. Hope to see you soon.

Cute, cozy, clean and convenient!

We loved our stay. Our group ranged from 7 to 70 years of age, and everyone thoroughly loved this home. There was plenty of room, the house was stocked with high-end amenities and the outdoor fire pit area was fantastic. If you are planning a rafting trip with NOC or other near by rafting companies, you won’t find another house this nice or this convenient. I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful Home

I had never used VRBO so this experience was a first and I'm glad I chose this home for our polar express experience. The home was beautifully decorated, clean, and roomy. It's in a great location and off the road so you enjoy a great view and quality time with family. Ann, the owner, was friendly and helped us with ideas on places to eat and places to go. If we ever come to this area again we would rent from Ann again. Loved our trip and you will too if you rent this home.

Summer is a great time with so many outdoor activities: fishing, hiking, tubing, mountain biking, exploring waterfalls, swimming, Whitewater rafting, ziplining and so much more. Almond NC Vacation

As someone in a earlier post stated " the photos don't do it justice". This home looks like it's brand new. The dinner ware and pots and pans are better than my own. Ann and Ray met us when we arrived and are the nicest folks. They are the kind of neighbors you want to have.

Our favorite Vrbo house so far

Staying on top of a mountain was peaceful and quiet. This house was perfect for our family. It was spacious and we felt right at home. We were especially impressed with how clean it was. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated having the fire pit with chairs outside, marshmallow sticks, and firewood provided. The location was great for exploring the local lakes and hiking in the Smokies. If we are back in the area we will definitely stay here again.

Great cabin tucked away but close to town.

Peaceful cabin, nicely decorated even with Fall decor. Very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Beds were comfortable with the perfect pillow. Nice, fluffy bath towels, chopped wood for the fire pit and even a few Fall decor items and candy made it feel like home. We couldn't have asked for more. The drive into town is easy as well as surrounding attractions. WiFi and cell service worked well from the cabin. Ray & Ann are gracious and accommodating. Wish we had more time!

Perhaps next trip you'd enjoy hiking to the three falls at Deep Creek, or going on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad to enjoy the scenery or a leisurely drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. You and your family were great guests, so please come visit again soon.

Awesome location, beautiful house

The house was wonderful for our party of 5 - 2 couples + 1 adult kid. The kitchen is not huge, but we were easily able to cook breakfast and dinner every night. The property was well stocked with towels and additional bedding and it was absolutely the cleanest rental I've ever been in. The driveway up was in good condition, but it was steep in places. The result that comes with the drive is that once up the drive, you're staying in the middle of the trees on the mountain with no visible neighbors. Great house!

Fabulous Cabin

This is a great place, awesome location easy to get to multiple locations and just down the road from the Nantahala Outpost Center. We had a great time canopy zip lining and rafting during our stay. This newly built cabin had lots of extras that made this place a perfect place to stay, my kids loved the cabin. The cabin was very nicely furnished and the kitchen had everything you need for cooking. We really enjoyed cooking s'omres on the outdoor fire pit and enjoyed seeing a few deer grazing in the grass in the early morning. Ray and Ann are very helpful and provide us with direction and information on things to do during our stay. I would definitely recommend this place :)

Visiting for Tail of the Dragon

Everything about this house was perfect! We stayed here two nights. The bed was clean and so comfortable. It was so quiet and just relaxing. The house is tastefully decorated and the setting on the mountain was amazing. The clean up check list was not over bearing and very simple when it was time to leave. We definitely will be recommending this place to family and friends. Pictures of this place do not do it justice. We were about 45 minutes from the Tail of the dragon at Deals Gap.

Beautiful House!

We recently visited for a week with family. The house was in a great central location for everything we wanted to do and see. The hosts were the absolute best, from meeting us to tell us all about their home to taking care of the smallest of details. The house had everything we could need or want. It had all the extra touches that made it "home away from home" and more. We had ample room for everyone and we loved the fact that the house had an upstairs area that came complete with games and a puzzle for our added enjoyment. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting in this area or in the surrounding areas. We look forward to a return visit soon! Thank you again for a great week!

This place was amazing, perfect location, clean, well stocked, very attentive owners.

We had a fabulous stay here. Within 1.5 hrs for day trips to Asheville, Gatlinburg, and Murphy. Easy drive to Bryson City, close to great hiking spots, but also pleasant enough to just chill and do some front porch sitting. Ann was very responsive to questions, check in and check out was easy. The house is clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated, we felt right at home. Driveway might be intimidating, but my minivan handled it with no problems ( I was worried by other reviews). We had Internet connection issues, but had good cell signal. We took time to relax read, and watched a DVD we had in the car. I totally recommend this place and would stay here again anytime.

Hidden Gem

We were looking for a quiet spot away from the city and definitely found it in this trip. The house was great, perfect for two families, and there is a ton of fun outdoor stuff to do within 30 miles. Ray and Ann were very nice and were really interested in helping us make the most of our trip. They had lots of suggestions and even had multiple brochures when we arrived. The only negative was the driving. I would recommend planning ahead and allowing plenty of time to get around in the mountains (30 miles could make for 1.5 hr drive). Other than that, I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

So glad you enjoyed your stay and had a great time. There are so many places to go and things to do in the mountains within just a few miles; Whitewater rafting (4 miles), ziplining (4 miles), swimming (1/2 miles), boating on Lake Fontana (2 miles), hiking everywhere, mountain biking at Tsali (3 miles), and much more. You can reach all these destinations on mostly 4 Lane roads. We love the peacefulness of the mountains and would love for you all to return in the future.

Get Together With Family

From the moment we approached the property it felt like home. The house was spotless, the property beautiful, and no attention to detail was spared. Our delightful hosts, Ann and Ray, warmly welcomed us on our arrival. We were siblings getting together to see our Dad who was staying in the area. From extra blankets, plenty of towels, flashlights, fire starter, and umbrellas, we lacked for nothing. I was thrilled to be able to prepare several meals for 7, in the beautifully stocked kitchen. The property is serene and beautiful, we so enjoyed the fall colors, enjoying morning coffee on the front porch and a glass on wine in the evening on the back deck. This is definitely a special property.

Lovely home with all the necessities!

This house was perfect for a quick get away to the mountains. Ray & Ann were nice and easy to work with. This like new home had everything you could possibly need - beach towels, bug spray, flashlights, fire starter log, games for the kids, detergent, soap, - I could go on and on. We loved having s'mores by the fire and chilling in the comfortable den. The beds were super cozy & comfy! The house's location is a short drive to the NOC/Nantahala River outpost and about 15 minutes to Bryson City. As other guest mentioned, I suggest getting there before dark especially the first night. It is a steep, gravel driveway up to the home. We played all day and did not make it back before dark. Great place! Would definitely rent again!

We appreciate you choosing to stay with us and would welcome you back any time. We hope you enjoyed your Whitewater rating trips and hope you return in the future as there are so many adventures in the mountains. Most mountain roads are gravel unless you're on the main roads, and we're fortunate to have a 12 foot+ wide road but if it's definitely dark in the mountains after the sun sets. Thank you for taking care of our home as if it were your own. Great guests who are welcome in the future.

We have been married 41 years and have 3 adult children and 4 grandsons. We've been coming to this area since we married and honeymooned in the Smokies. Moving to the Smoky Mountains 6 years ago was a dream of ours and we always hated leaving when we'd travel. We enjoyed the mountains and activities so much that we finally made the move and have no regrets. We want others to enjoy their stay in the mountains as much as we always have.

Our three adult children and four grandsons all love visiting and exploring in the mountains. We do quite a bit of fishing and hiking with the boys, but they absolutely love tubing down Deep Creek. Whitewater rafting is one of our favorites and we recently went ziplining for the first time and will definitely do it again soon.

Why they chose this property

We built this vacation rental for others to discover nature, the mountains and just relax. We are located only 3 miles from Tsali for mountain biking, hiking and boating. Nantahala is only 3 miles for hiking, swimming, Whitewater rating, ziplining, kayaking, canoeing and The Rivers Edge restaurant.
Bryson City is a quick 10 miles for shopping, hiking, tubing, swimming and picnics at Deep Creek, and discovering three beautiful waterfalls. The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad offers different excursions during the year, but The Polar Express is a must with children. The Road to Nowhere is also in Bryson; great for hiking and horseback riding. Cherokee offers shopping, restaurants and Harrah's Casino, which is about 20 minutes up the road. There is a lot of history in Cherokee. Waynesville is a great city to visit with unique shops in the historic downtown district and also antiques. Waynesville is about a 40 mile ride. We want your stay to be enjoyable and will do all we can to accomplish a great visit.

What makes this property unique

We chose to build this vacation home on our property for others to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and serenity the mountains have to offer. You will never sleep better than in the mountains. Bonfires at night are a great way to enjoy each other's company, ghost stories and don't forget the s'mores. The home is secluded and you will feel like you're the only ones in the world while enjoying all the comforts of home.
