About this property

Tropical Home nestled among the coconuts

Cracker Landing is aptly named for the Florida owner's affinity for the Florida Crackers who settled this land. The owner is descended from many early settlers to southwest Florida. The name reflects a respect for the beauty of the coastal island and for the lovely, interesting life the waters provide. The home is situated in the middle of the island, requiring about a two minute walk to the
beach....approximately 500 feet to the boardwalk. Gentle breezes blow most of the time. There is also a water taxi available for hire at minimal rates($15.00 per person. Please note that water taxi rates increase after 5 p.m. You will need to pay for parking on the mainland at Eldred's marina, which is currently $7.00 per day.The house is fully air conditioned, has two flat screen televisions, Wi-Fi, and all linens, dishes, and appliances are furnished There are two floors for tenants. The bottom room is a storage room for owner use only.

The inside of the house is mostly paneled with cedar and cypress. The upstairs loft-room is also pecky cedar with numerous windows to provide an open feeling. The house has an outdoor shower for showering off the sand from the beach. When one sits on the deck,, you are surrounded by coconut trees, palm trees, hibiscus, mango trees and lush tropical foliage. The large umbrella on the front deck helps to ward off the afternoon sun as you enjoy the nature that surrounds you.
NOTE....This is a bridgeless barrier island
With no commercialization except for a golf cart rental business. Therefore, you need to bring your food with you. Owner keeps most basic supplies for you and will gladly furnish you a list of same.

I am a third generation Floridian who has a great respect for the ;Old Florida; style of living. That connotation implies a closeness with the land, with honor, and with a more simplistic approach to life. Little Gasparilla provides a peaceful sojourn for me as I watch the Ospreys fly about and as I often watch the incredibly lovely, yet changing colors of the daily sunsets.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I loved the natural beauty Little Gasparilla Island provides. We built our house in 1984 . It has an abundance of natural cedarand cypress wood on the walls; has provided many happy, family times over the years and is a private, peaceful place to be. The appliances are modern, the house well-maintained and impeccably clean and is designed with numerous windows for those who like the open feeling.

What makes this property unique

All comforts of a home setting while being also close to the bay and 7 miles of gorgeous gulf beach. Extra lot next to the house
provides for privacy and room for children to play. The owner also owns the two adjoining lots to the rear of the house, so the tenant can enjoy maximum privacy. If you are looking for an absolutely gorgeous beach, incredible sunsets and marine life combined with the owner;s wishes to see that your stay is pleasurable and rewarding .then welcome home, traveler. You have arrived at the right spot.
Please note that there is a security camera on the entryway stairs and landing.
