The Riverhouse is a tastefully renovated one-level home overlooking the Elk River in Elk Park, NC, with Direct and Private River Access.

This comfortable upscale retreat is adjacent to the Pisgah National Forest and just a short walk from one of Western North Carolina’s most breathtaking attractions, Elk River Falls.

You also have DIRECT access to miles of trails for hiking or mountain biking, and the area is known for trout fishing.

Kick back on the spacious river-facing front porch, where you can enjoy your morning beverage and dine while observing nature and living like a local. View Ospreys, Eagles, Kingfishers, and Herons in their natural habitat while listening to the soothing sound of the river. Find unforgettable scenery here, along with the comforts of home.

The Riverhouse features an open floor plan, a fully equipped kitchen, and a comfortable living room with leather furniture and three recliners. There is a mini split AC/Heating unit in the main living area and a stand-up fan.

Each of the 2 bedrooms has a Queen bed with Egyptian Cotton Sheets and a ceiling fan.

There are two very nice bathrooms, one with an easy-to-step-in shower, the other with a shower/bathtub combo.

This home is equipped for both long and short stays with essential amenities included.

Everything was wonderful, we had a most enjoyable stay and the cabin and the area is beautiful! Our host was incredibly welcoming and very easy to contact. Such a great place to wind down after skiing and traveling through the mountains. I loves the kitchen and it was bery well equipped. Comfortable beds, very clean and had eve we needed! We will absolutely stay again!

This is a great stay! The smallest details were thought of in every area. Snacks for arrival, bathroom lights, puzzles and games for kids and what a beautiful view from the front of the home and the magical sounds of running water outside the home. The drive up will have you questioning your choice but it’s so worth it. The small drive or walk to the waterfall is magical as well!

Big kitchen with an island for casual eating and a larger table for sit-down family meals. Cozy recliner couch and chair, fast internet and nice sized guest rooms. Great decor, newly and very tastefully remodeled. The hosts communicated well and were extremely friendly and accessible. Our favorite was meeting their horses, sitting by the outdoor firepit while enjoying the rushing water from the river that is right across the street. There is even a waterfall just up the road providing yet another bonus! We’ll definitely return for another visit!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Property was clean and as it appeared on the website. Host was very nice and made us feel at home. Took care of everything we needed. Enjoyed feeding and petting the horses. Nice walk to a very cool waterfall. Enjoyed the fire pit and the rest we were able to get. We would definitely stay again when in this area

This property is simply amazing. I wish there were more than five stars to rate. I would say six stars at minimum. The house had absolutely every amenity that you can imagine. Updated kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms made the stay comfortable. Best of all, was the serenity and peace that the property offers. It is about 30 minutes from Beech Mountain and 15 mins to town for groceries, etc. There is a local restaurant about 10 minutes away that offers a great breakfast.The host were amazing. Could not have asked for more,

The Riverhouse is your true gateway to over 4700 acres of pristine Pisgah National Forest land. Leisure walks or hiking right out the front door to and beyond Elk River Falls, North Carolina.
Bring mountain bikes or E-bikes, which you can ride for miles down the wide and relatively unknown trails that border our property. Connect to the Appalachian Trail a couple of miles in, and it's possible that you may not encounter anyone on your outing.

What makes this property unique

The Elk River is known for trout fishing, and it is just steps away from the front porch. There is a grassy river bank, perfect for picnics and the enjoyment of Mother Nature.

Our home is newly remodeled and outfitted with plenty of amenities. The dining, kitchen, and living spaces are open to each other, allowing for quality time with your family and friends.

We have two horses on our property, Charlotte and James. If you enjoy the company of horses, you may visit with them at your leisure.
