Our House Is Your Home Away From Home

Aloha!
We are Keone and Yonnell Farias. We were both born and raised here on this wonderful island. We welcome you to our beautiful new home and would be happy to share with you our favorite places. Located in a quiet neighborhood of Waiakea Uka, we are a short 10-minute ride from the airport, 35 minutes to the Volcano, and just a few minutes from local grocery stores and eateries!
Waiākea Uka is translated as "the mountainside" of Waiākea. There are beautiful views of both Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa mountain. The University of Hawaii at Hilo is located in the Waiākea district as well. There are parks and convenience stores within walking distance to the house but a car would be more suitable.
Our house is your home away from home.
We want you to feel at home during your stay. We also respect your privacy. The keypad entry allows you to come and go at your convenience. We live nearby and are only a call or text away for any questions, suggestions, and housekeeping needs you may have.

This property is exactly as described in the listing. It is spacious, comfortable and welcoming. It is contemporary in its furnishings and layout and felt like home. The hosts were super easy to work with and very responsive to our messages. It is located in a good neighborhood. Definitely worth a serious look if you are visiting Hilo. Parking in the garage was a real bonus.

Everything about our stay was awesome! The place was very clean, and the check-in process was super smooth and easy. Communication with the owners was also excellent—they were very responsive and easy to work with. The rooms were a little warm, but there were plenty of fans readily available throughout the house, which was really helpful. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely book this place again if it’s available. Highly recommend!

This beautiful, well-equipped house was perfectly located for activities in the Hilo area. Just by looking at the map, it might not be obvious, but the home was situated for an easy ride to Volcanoes National Park, Akaka Falls, the wonderful Tropical Botanical Gardens, and just under ten minutes to downtown Hilo with its farmers' market and my favorite restaurant in town - Pineapples. The king-sized beds were very comfortable and there were many small amenities that showed that the owners really cared about how their guest would feel while staying in their home. I get to Hilo fairly often, and now I've found the place to stay for all my visits in the future.

We were in Hilo for two short nights to see and hike the volcanos. Rained the entire time, but we didn’t let that stop us. The house was perfect for our family. We truly just slept there, but it had everything needed to cook and relax. Good location. Approximately 45-50 minutes to the volcano and about 10-15 minutes to all shopping and dining in Hilo.

We stayed here with our family for an Easter weekend. It was the perfect place to stay for a weekend on Hilo! It's in a safe, quiet neighborhood that's centrally located if you're looking to enjoy any of the sites local to the east side of the island.We particularly enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, where we were able to grab fresh produce from the Hilo Farmers Market and whip up some great food with the kitchen supplies they had in the house. Felt like we were in our own kitchen.The hosts were very communicative and you could see the attention to detail they spent making their house the perfect place for families looking for a Hawaii retreat. I'm counting the days until I can book another stay!

We recently stayed at this wonderful 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom vacation home in Hilo, and this is an absolute 10 recommendation! I stayed here with my adult son and grandson, and the home's split floor plan was fantastic, giving everyone the perfect amount of privacy and space. Enjoyed the ensuite privacy, and we loved that the bedrooms feature comfortable king-size beds with very high-quality linens. The house is tucked away in a wonderfully quiet location, yet it is still convenient, with Safeway and Target only 10 minutes away. From the moment we arrived, our hosts, Yonnell and Keone, made us feel so welcome. They left us thoughtful snacks that were greatly appreciated after our flight, along with recommended menus from nearby restaurants that made finding great local food so easy. They also provided a variety of games, which kept us entertained.Even though our trip coincided with Hurricane Lala, Yonnell and Keone's hospitality turned what could have been a very stressful situation into a safe experience. They lent us a power pack and lanterns. Their thoughtful support, communication, and care made my family feel safe. Plus, the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to prepare wonderful meals together while we rode out the weather. We are so grateful for their kindness. Yonnell and Keone provided a true sanctuary for us, and we cannot wait to return to Hilo to stay here again under clearer skies!

Beautiful Quiet Location

This was a great stay for my father and I on a trip to see the Volcanos and Mauna Kea. We were there for two nights and enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Very clean, very comfortable, very quiet place to stay. With the windows open, you could hear the birds which was nice when compared to a hotel. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Fantastic home in a convenient location

We loved our stay - beautiful, newer home with all the amenities we needed. The location was super convenient to visit family in the area, and the hosts were fantastic (and very understanding when we forgot to leave the garage door opener - luckily we got it back). We hope to return on a future trip. Highly recommended.
