Escape to Copper Moose Cottage on Lake Michigamme, a unique turn-of-the-century lakefront home overflowing with historic charm. With beautiful water views, blooming gardens, and 2400 square feet of living space, this home is truly one-of-a-kind. Perfect for families, couples, or group getaways, the cottage offers ample space to spread out or gather together. Spend the day on the water or explore the Upper Peninsula, then return to soak in the hot tub or enjoy a fire under the stars.
The Space Copper Moose Cottage is a delightful historic home that blends personality with thoughtful updates. You’ll find cozy gathering areas, lake views from inside and outside the home, and multiple inviting spaces to reconnect after a day of adventure. This cottage provides all the character, charm, and quirks of a home loved for generations. Built as an executive home during the height of the mining and logging industries, the house boasts an ideal lakeshore location within easy walking distance of Michigamme’s library and park. While Michigamme’s original industries have largely faded into the past, Copper Moose Cottage remains a lasting presence in this scenic community. In the late 20th century, the home became “Blooming Bay,” the local flower shop, during which time its expansive gardens were developed. Those gardens continue to thrive today, blooming with a vibrant array of flowers from spring through fall.
Lake Michigamme The property boasts 100 feet (give or take, depending on the season) of Lake Michigamme frontage. Lake Michigamme is one of the largest inland lakes in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and includes an abundance of islands, coves, rocky shorelines, and forested views. Truly a quintessential U.P. lake, Lake Michigamme’s surroundings of peaceful pine forests, loons, starry skies, and fresh air provide the perfect setting for a memorable getaway.
