About this property
Secluded, Garden-Level Gold-Rush Lux Suite In Historic SF - Walk Everywhere
Welcome to our spacious, open-plan, Gold Rush-inspired garden-level retreat in Upper Nob Hill. This artful primary suite blends rustic charm with modern touches—high ceilings, golden flourishes, leather accents, art & antiques, a hand-carved king-sized bed, spa bath with a rain shower, kitchenette, under-floor heating, HVAC, and a secluded garden sanctuary—offering guests an easy stay in the heart of San Francisco. Walk everywhere. There's wifi, an elliptical, a 6 " TV, Netflix, Amazon, etc.
Our lovely three-story Edwardian building was built 115 years ago, a year after the great San Francisco earthquake and fire. Over the years, we have carefully preserved its many architectural charms, including this garden-level sanctuary — a"step-down" feature unique to many heritage homes built on slopes in hilly San Francisco (See diagram)
Unwind in this bright & airy primary bedroom suite in Upper Nob Hill—a creative escape inspired by San Francisco's storied Gold Rush era. Tucked within a stately 1908 home that rose from the ashes of the Great Fire, this rare gem blends historic elegance with modern indulgence—perfect for discerning travelers seeking a private, luxurious sanctuary and unforgettable stay in the heart of San Francisco.
Echoing the spirit of 19th-century affluence, we've layered the space with textures and finishes reminiscent of California's boomtown heyday.
A warm leather sectional anchors the living area, set against original exposed wood and concrete surfaces that hint at the city's rugged past. Period oil portraits of the original owners, antiques, sculptures, and dramatic custom furnishings lend the space the feel of a curated museum suite.
Relax in your plush space with a massive smart TV, fine art, and warm lighting. The adjacent area showcases a striking glass-top table by Paul Evans, B&B Italia chairs, and a commanding black armoire—both a nod to contemporary SF style and Victorian opulence. Next to that is a low-profile, king-sized bed with a massive, hand-carved headboard that accommodates two. Each design element is hand-selected to honor San Francisco's golden legacy.
We can set up an additional plush aerobed in the living room to accommodate two more guests, and a child can sleep comfortably on the sofa.
The bathroom is a private wellness retreat. Step into floor-to-ceiling marble-finish tiles, underfloor heating, a shower equipped with a luxury multi-jet water system, a rain shower, and sleek matte-black fixtures—designed to refresh and restore after a day exploring the city's iconic hills.
Retreat into your secluded, private zen patio garden at the end of the day to savor a glass of California wine, under festive, twinkling lights.
