The historic Rose Cottage in Springdale, Utah

The Historic Rose Cottage is a charming cottage located on the main street near the town center in Springdale. Guests are surrounded with views of Zion National Park and are conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants, gift shops, art galleries, a grocery store and steps away to shuttle stops for easy access to the park. This is not a shared space with the host so guests have full use of this quaint cottage. The home features original oil paintings by the host that are for sale.

Location: The Historic Rose Cottage is in Springdale, Utah. The cottage is located at 1120 Zion Park Blvd.. If you are coming in from the south (e.g. Las Vegas) the cottage is the second driveway on your left as you pass the Springdale Fire Station and kiddy-corner to the Springdale Information Center. If you are coming in from the north (e.g., Bryce Canyon) the cottage is the second driveway on your right as you pass the Zion Canyon Lodge motel. It is located approximately one-half mile from the park entrance.

The cottage was pristine and charming. Lots of personal touches and artwork. The host was welcoming and very helpful without being intrusive. Views from the backyard were spectacular. Location was great, right in the middle of downtown, but with big enough yard in landscaping to be very private.

Perfect Zion Stay

Excellent historic home. Perfectly located and situated with great amenities for our family. The yard and garden are exquisite and we saw some great wildlife - birds, red horned lizards, deer, etc. The kids loved the books and artwork. Thank you for a wonderful stay and being so responsive!

Cozy Historic Cottage

Great cottage

Our stay was just perfect! The cottage is absolutely adorable, and it was stocked with things we needed. It was in a perfect location right in town near restaurants and e-bike rentals. I highly recommend the cottage.

Great launching spot for Zion adventures

Great location, easy access to park as well as restaurants, groceries, and everything you’ll need for your days in Zion. The back patio deck was perfect for morning coffee! Jack was a great host.

Fantastic!

We absolutely loved staying at the store in crews cottage. The house was easy to access. It was comfortable and had great views. We love how easy it was to get to the shuttle each day and also to walk to nearby, shops, and restaurants. We will definitely stay again.

We only stayed for one night but it was the perfect place to relax after a day at Zion. The cottage was exactly as described and close to restaurants and shops. Jack was very quick to respond to messages. Loved our stay and hope to come back soon!

The Rose Cottage is everything advertised and more. Multiple outdoor spaces to relax after hiking Zion. Convenient a to restaurant like Oscars and Market. Amenities were great kitchen was stocked with supplies and beds were very comfy!

Perfect Location for visiting Zion!

Lovely cottage, perfect for family of three to stay while visiting Zion. The home was warm and welcoming, and provided all the necessities we needed. Enjoyed the back patio and gardens to relax in for breakfast or after a long day hiking. Washer and dryer made for ease of doing vacation laundry! Only few minutes walk to Zion shuttle or to access many restaurants. Wonderful to stay in home with character instead of random hotel!

Perfect place to stay at Zion!

The Rose Cottage was an amazing find! Jack was great about helping us get in and settled with accommodations and info about Springdale. It’s a great place that’s close to everything, with enough space to let the family spread out a bit after days in the car, plus laundry to clean our hiking clothes! Incredibly convenient to the park, and walking distance to shops and food. The back yard was almost like a park itself, with spectacular views of the canyon. If we find ourselves back again, we’ll definitely stay here!

Charming Space & Great Hospitality

We enjoyed our stay immensely. It was the perfect location - in walking distance to shops and restaurants, plus the bus into the park. Jack’s space was beautifully decorated and well appointed. My mother lost her earring stud down the bathroom sink drain and Jack saved the day by helping us get it out - coming out to help us later on a Sunday evening. A wonderful space and wonderful host! We highly recommend this cottage.

This cottage has everything & more. The location, cleanliness, very attentive owner, well stocked kitchen and the most enchanting garden ever. Save some time to enjoy & relax on the patio & watch the deer come every morning & evening. A must stay. You will not find another vacation rental like this.

Convenient location for a charming house

This quaint house was in a very convenient location. It was a wonderful to stay here versus another hotel after a week of traveling. The house was equipped with everything we needed to be able to have a couple of meals in instead of eating out every meal. Jack was extremely timely with his communication and provided helpful information about the general area. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Cottage in a Great Location

This cottage is an excellent choice for visiting Zion National Park. It’s a short driving distance to the Zion entrance (off season) and close to a shuttle stop (on season). Shuttles weren’t running on our visit so a short drive to the Zion visitor’s center, scenic drive and many iconic trails. Cottage is within easy walking distance to Springdale restaurants, shops and grocery store. The cottage itself is very clean, cozy and comfortable with an abundance of outdoor spaces with views. Jack is an excellent host-informative & answers questions quickly.

Fabulous cottage

Adorable little place in great location in Springdale. Loved the historic cottage with an updated kitchen and bath. We especially enjoyed the patio/garden area, which was a wonderful place to relax. Only problem for our family of 4 was bedroom and bathroom doors that stick and make a lot of noise when other people are sleeping, but not surprising in an old house. I was a little worried about road noise since I am a light sleeper, but it was not a problem. Owner helpful and quick with repsonses.

I am a long-term resident of Springdale and recently retired from the National Park Service after 36 years at Zion. I have a passion for historic preservation and I knew after living in the Rose Cottage for a number of years, it was a place I wanted to share with others. I hope you find it as cozy and charming as I did.

Why they chose this property

When I purchased the cottage in 2001 I was asked if I was planning on bull dozing it. My response was absolutely not! I saw it as a diamond in the rough.

The Rose Cottage was built in 1934 only a few years after the long tunnel in the park was completed. A product of its time when money was scarce, a number of structural elements were salvaged from buildings in the park such as the oak flooring that came from the a Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) camp as well the the divided lite windows in the living room. It used to have a green wood shingled roof that originally were on the Nature Center - also in the park.

What makes this property unique

The Rose Cottage offers the unique character and charm that only a historic structure can offer. It is one of the few remaining historic structures left in Springdale that provides a different type of guest stay and a little glimpse back into the past before Springdale and Zion NP became the tourist destination it is today.
