This newly renovated 800 sq ft 2-bedroom, 1-bath barn apartment is perfect for the quiet, self-sufficient guest seeking a simple, peaceful stay in the Berkshires.

Located on a quiet, rural property just 20–25 minutes from Great Barrington or Pittsfield, this apartment is ideal for traveling professionals, nature lovers, or anyone in need of temporary housing away from the bustle.

The barn apartment sits on a shared 6-acre woodland property that also includes the main house—where I live—and a separate in-law apartment that is rented out. Chickens and beehives are located just beside the barn, so guests should be comfortable with a bit of farm life. Wild animals such as deer, foxes, raccoons, and the occasional bear also pass through, so please be mindful outdoors. We kindly ask that all guests drive slowly on the long, shared driveway to ensure the safety of animals, children, and other residents.

The barn was a great spot for some quality time with friends. We picked some herbs and rotator from the garden and made an amazing toast. Would definitely stay here again.

The apartment was cute, but it appears they haven't rented it out before. Safety of the apartment was extremely concerning. The refrigerator did not work and there were three unlocked entrances in the barn that allowed full access to the apartment I was in. I've asked for a partial refund but have not received any confirmation from the owner or VRBO.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m so sorry the refrigerator stopped working during your stay — as soon as I was notified, it was replaced right away. I always want guests to feel comfortable and cared for while they’re here. I completely understand how stressful it can be to get locked out, especially at night. Afterward, we inspected everything and confirmed the door and ground-floor window were both secure and working properly. Accessing the apartment through a locked window didn’t mean the space was unsafe — just that you found yourself in a tough situation. Still, we’ve since added an extra interior lock so future guests feel even more at ease. Before check-in, I provided a 20% introductory discount and a one-night courtesy refund, even though your change in plans was within the non-refundable period. I always strive to be fair, responsive, and ensure every guest enjoys a safe and comfortable stay.
