Upon arrival, we were very pleased. The home is exactly as pictured—beautiful, peaceful, well-decorated, and truly feels like a luxury property. The kitchen is gorgeous, and overall the home is very comfortable. Neighborhood, patio, and use of single car garage Unfortunately, the biggest issue for us was the cooling. When we arrived, the home felt stuffy. I lowered it to 68 and immediately received a message from the host explaining that the air conditioner could freeze if set below 72 and cause us completely lose AC. I understand that extreme temperatures can affect HVAC systems, However, for a premium-priced property in Arizona, I expected additional ways to stay comfortable. There are no ceiling fans, and no portable fans were provided. We ended up purchasing two tower fans ourselves just to create some air movement. Even though the hallway thermostat would read 72, the rooms we were actually using were often much warmer—our fan displays showed temperatures as high as 82. With the fans running, we were only able to get the occupied rooms down to 79, and we constantly had to move the fans from room to room depending on where we were.Cooking meals made the problem even worse. While I understand that Arizona was experiencing a heat wave, I believe a luxury rental should be equipped to handle those conditions with 2nd AC, ceiling fans, portable fans, etc. We booked a 16 night stay and checked out at day 10 - forfeiting the remaining time because we were so hot.
