Excellent Location with a very cozy cottage and Bunk House. This spot is fantastic and quiet.A great place for the family.
Response from VrboOwner on 1 Sept, 2022
Rocky, thanks for your kind words. The old cabin and bunk house were great, but we lost the battle with Mother Nature and Father Time and had to raze them both. But, the new house is pretty nice too.
We had a wonderful week on the lake. More than enough space for our group of 7 extended family members to spread out and be comfortable. The neighborhood is peaceful, and everyone was friendly. We rented a pontoon boat for several days, which was perfect for exploring more of the lake. But even without that, we had tons of fun using the kayaks and floats right off the dock. Many fish were caught! Having the afternoon/evening sun was blissful. Easy communication with the host. Will not hesitate to rent again if it is available when we come back.

My wife and I are glad to hear that you and your group of extended family had a great time at the lake. The sunsets are pretty spectacular - we love that you and your family were able to make some lasting memories at the lake!
We really enjoyed our week at this property. Relatively new and well designed house that has lake views from most rooms. Great dock area and a nice place to swim. Not much boat traffic, so swimming and kayaking was fun.

Only great things to say about the property. Great views, super clean, everything you could need. But the highlight for all of us was the amazing location... calm, clean, deep water with beautiful sunsets and extraordinary wild life. It was a slice of heaven for this kayaking enthusiast!

This was a return stay to this wonderful home. Room for three generations and plenty of space for all. We enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen, evenings around the fire pit, and family paddles around the lake. A beautiful house to relax and spend time together! Thank you Jay and Alice!

We love hearing stories about multi generational vacations and memories that you and your family made! Thanks again for renting our home and sharing your feedback. Cheers, Jay and Alice.
This is a beautiful high end property. The first floor master bedroom was very helpful for older family members, and the lake location on a cove was a plus in a quiet corner of Winnipesaukee. Several loon sightings as well as a bald eagle!

Christine, we are so glad that you and your family got to enjoy the property and make some great memories! We love the bald eagle sightings too, it's pretty awe inspiring to see them soaring over the cove.
The property was exactly as advertised; beautiful, quiet, clean. Located on the northern tip of the lake (just an fyi), minutes drive via boat or car to fun times!
Plus the owners are very easily accessible if any questions arise.
This is a prime rated house!
PS - tons of fishing at your fingertips!

Barry,
Thanks for spending your vacation at our lake house, glad that you and your family had a great time, and enjoyed some good fishing right from the dock! Look forward to having you back next year if you are coming back to Winnipesaukee.

First off, the booking process and communication from start to finish was excellent! The owners are extremely friendly and very accommodating! We stayed for the ice fishing derby and the home was even better in person than described! If you’re looking for a very nice and clean house right on the water, look no further! You will not find a better property or better host!

Joshua, thanks for the great review! I hope that you and your group had a great time at the ice fishing derby, that is always a fun weekend.
Great experience! House had everything we needed and owner was great with all communication. We rented an inflatable floating trampoline which the kids loved as a “launchpad” in the water given it is so deep right off the dock. We will definately be returning!

It's good to hear that you and your family had a great week and got to enjoy the lake here at our little piece of heaven. We enjoyed having you as guests and look forward to having you back next Summer.

Our family was glad to have so many beautiful spaces where we could be together, but also places for quiet times away from others. The house had everything we needed, and more. We especially enjoyed having use of the kayaks. We also thought the location was great, on a quiet part of the lake, which meant we saw and heard lots of loons. And, we were happy to be near good hiking trails. We would all be happy to return.

Laura, thanks for renting from us, glad that you and your family enjoyed our lake house and enjoyed our quiet little corner of Winnipesaukee.
Our family of 5 (two boys ages 3 & 6, and 8-month old baby girl) and grandparents had the most wonderful time at Jay's and Alice's house. The house and setting was perfect for us. As other reviews say, the pictures don't do this property justice. We had a blast swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating. Jay was extremely responsive before and during our stay. I would highly recommend a stay at this property.

Bright, clean open concept - perfect for family get together
My 2 sisters and I with all our daughters and nieces had a great week end even though it was cool, raw and rainy. The view was fabulous from ever room. It was a perfect kitchen for us all to cook together, play games, watch old movies and make puzzles. We went for walks, sat out on the dock and watched the loons on the Lake. This was our 2nd Baker Girls Retreat and it is was the very best :)

The property is beautiful and spacious, just as pictured. We visited the area to enjoy the fall foliage and weren’t disappointed! We enjoyed the tree-lined lake views from all of the decks which included plenty of guest seating. We also enjoyed a fire in the fire pit one evening. The home interior is well appointed and very comfortable. The property is a short drive away from the town of Meredith, NH which had some nice shopping and dining options. We especially enjoyed dining at the restaurant Camp, and we also liked the Lakehouse Restaurant. Both are in Meredith. The owner, Jay, was fantastic and super responsive to all inquiries. I would definitely recommend a stay at this property!

High end, new property, with amazing view and amenities.
You won’t do any better than this beautiful and tastefully decorated new home! It is almost too nice and hip to be a rental but we are very happy it is. The home is so nice inside; the views so spectacular; and the decks, docks, kayaks, outdoor fireplace, etc. so perfect that there is simply no reason to leave the property. The beautiful views from almost every room made you feel as though you were immersed in nature and the sunsets every evening were amazing. The kitchen was the best stocked for cooking that we have ever had with many gadgets, pans, and serving utensils/dishes. Jay was simply the best - and responded virtually within minutes to our questions throughout the stay. Don’t hesitate to book if you are fortunate enough to find an opening.

Excellent all around
We rented this property for a week, from the beginning Jay was excellent contacted me within a day of making the request. Called me made sure I had his phone number. Before arriving he left a detailed email of everything we needed to know about the place and area. He left a note and bottle of wine to welcome us. The property is wonderful beds are comfortable everything looks brand new. We used the grill for every meal so can't comment on the stove. Place had everything you need for a comfortable week away. We did a little fishing had some luck nothing crazy. Snorkeled along the rocks off shore so some interesting things. The only recommendation I have is make sure your kids can swim because it is extremely deep off the dock. But water is Warm and nice. We hope to be able to rent this property again in the future.

Tom, I am glad that you and your family were able to enjoy the property and the lake!
From the initial booking the owner, Jay, was quick to respond to all of our questions, from the nearest boat launch to the kind of coffee maker. We’ve stayed at many places where the cleaning staff strip the house of every condiment and paper towel. Not so here. The kitchen has every dish, pot and pan and utensil you could possibly use.
What struck me most about the home was the degree of cleanliness. Unbelievable. The decor is fabulous. Very restoration hardware. We lucked out with beautiful weather. As the days went on we realized that this cove is a premier part of the lake its a no wake zone so it is very peaceful. . There are even loons with their winsome call . We heard many boats going by comment on the attractiveness of the house. I would not hesitate to book the property again!

April, thank you for renting our home, and for your fabulous review!
We rent properties multiple time a year. This home is one of the very few ones we would consider returning to. The home is spacious, clean and new. The location on the lake is great. The kitchen is great too. We bring our own knives and skillets, because what is provided at other rental is usually old and not functional, but this home has good knives and skillets. The only thing I would improve is a bigger and better tea kettle as the one there is hard to fill especially if hot.
One word of advice to potential renters, please watch out for the last step on the first flight of stairs on the lake side of the house. For some reason it is really easy to miss that step, my wife badly twisted her ankle the very first day and 5 other people including myself tripped on it during our stay. It is probably lighting, that makes the last step blend with the floor, can't really explain it any other way.
The owner is very responsive and helpful.
Overall, this is an exceptional house for a family to enjoy a nice big lake.

Denis, thank you for your thoughtful review. We can upgrade the tea kettle, that's an easy fix. I am sorry to hear about your wife though. Maybe a light bulb is out making it hard to see the last step? I will investigate and take whatever steps to address that. This is the first time that we are hearing that feedback, we will address it right away.

Nostalgic, waterfront cottage with amazing views
We stayed at this cottage for our "mini-moon" after our wedding for four nights/five days and it was exactly what we needed to decompress after the stress and excitement. The scent of the cottage reminded me of my grnadparents property where we vacationed years ago and I loved the nostalgia it brought. Jay and Alice (owners) knew it was out honeymoon and left a bottle of wine and a lovely note for the newlyweds. We spent most of the time on the dock (NOT the deck) since the weather was amazing. There must be a beehive near the deck because there were lots of bees (friendly ones, nonetheless); we would have spent more time out there if there weren't so many. We used the tandem kayak available (I think the listing mentioned two kayaks)and saw the loons frequently (a highlight for us). We loved fishing off of the dock but didn't catch a thing. We grilled every night and made a bonfire for s'mores every night. It was quiet and peaceful and relaxing. LOTS of spiders all over the property (big ones!) but never in the house; however, one must be comfortable with nature's critters to stay there (rumors or bears in the 'hood....never saw any but still made me nervous!). They had all of the amenities of home in the kitchen. We spent a day in Meredith: ate at Town Docks (food was mediocre but lobster roll was amazing) and shopped at Mill Falls Marketplace and checked out Weirs Beach (mostly closed due to the time of year)--but we honestly couldn't wait to get back to the cottage and relax and swim. Owners were accomodating with early check in and late check out. Jay was quick to respond to my emails and texts. The listing description and photos were accurate (although I think better in person). House was very clean and neat. We were sad to leave.

Stephanie, we are glad that you got to enjoy the old Camp for your "mini-moon" in 2014. Thanks for renting from us and making some memories.
Although we opted for a rental house within driving distance due to Covid, what we thought was a "limited" trip ended up being one of our best family vacations ever. Consistent with the photos, this home is clean, comfortable, nicely-decorated, and well-appointed. The best part is the location right on the lake. Our family of two adults and two young adult daughters loved waking up to gorgeous views, sunbathing and reading on the dock, watching for loons, and being able to get in the water so easily (once we got used to the cold, that is!). We made ample use of the kayaks that come with the house, even enjoying a sunset kayak around the cove. We also loved the there was a fire pit right at the lake's edge, where we could relax in the evenings and make s'mores. The kitchen and outdoor grill have everything you need for meal prep. Because not many restaurants in the area have outdoor eating spaces, we opted to cook several dinners at the house and did so easily. .
The house makes a great base for day trips. We did two hikes near Castle in the Clouds, only 20 min. away, and a more challenging hike in the White Mountains, about an hour's drive. There is also a sweet farm about 10 min. away (near Jojo's market) for blueberry picking and Moulton farms for cider donuts and great produce. The surrounding neighborhood is somewhat inconsistent in the upkeep of the properties (not a big deal since you spend your time on the lake not on the road); however, we found a five-mile loop from the house that wound us to a lovely residential area, where we enjoyed going on runs.
Finally, I have only praise for Jay, the owner of the home, for his clear communication and responsiveness to questions. He goes above and beyond to ensure that renters have everything they need for a comfortable, trouble-free stay. We feel grateful to Jay and his wife Alice that they open up their beautiful property for others to enjoy. It truly is a treasure and a place we would rent again in the future.

Jay
Jay’s home is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our group of two families, each with two teenagers. The house is new, light-filled, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed to cook all meals at home. The location is stunning right on a quiet part of the lake, and great for swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding right from the floating dock. We also rented a boat and had easy access to waterskiing, tubing, and wakeboarding. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the deck, and fires and s’mores at the fire pit several nights. Jay was always accessible and responsive to anything we needed from the time of booking through the duration of our trip. We can’t wait to return!

Why they chose this property
We designed this home with a renowned local architect to take advantage of the location and the commanding views of the cove and the mountains.
What makes this property unique
The location of this new Craftsman style house is fantastic. Great water views and water access in this quiet cove (it's all a "no wake" zone).
