The location was convenient for activities only a short drive away. The house did not have any spare toilet paper so we had to go and buy on our second day. Water pressure in first floor shower was poor. One upstairs bedroom had no receptacles for night stand lights which was really inconvenient and another outlet pulled out of the wall due to not being properly secured. The other upstairs bedroom main light did not work which was also very inconvenient. The fridge door doesn’t shut well and has duct tape with marker on it saying to make sure it’s closed completely. One cockroach came out of fireplace area while we were sitting and talking. Felt like the response time wasn’t great with renter.

Extra toiletries are in the hall closet and by the extra towels (as instructed in the guest manual).
The upstairs bedrooms have lamps, however, the house is 90 years old, so there is limited electrical outlets.
Palmetto bugs are South Carolina’s native Pest and they come inside whenever it gets cold. We have monthly pest control that sprays for them.
Future guest can ensure a hospitable home that has sat satisfied, many guests for four years.
I would strongly caution anyone considering this VRBO due to significant safety and privacy concerns. The biggest issue is that there are two rooms in the home, including the master bedroom, that guests renting the property do not have access to. However, whoever stays in or has access to that portion of the home can freely enter the main living areas of the house through a door near the kitchen labeled “owner storage.” All validated via Zillow when you look up the property - had I known sooner I wouldn’t have stayed! This means guests have no way to secure the property from individuals accessing those locked-off rooms, since the locks are controlled from the other side. As a paying guest renting the home, this created a very uncomfortable and unsafe feeling, especially knowing someone could potentially enter shared spaces without our knowledge or control. In addition to the safety concern, the owner was minimally responsive at best. Transparency and guest safety should be a priority, and unfortunately, this property did not provide either. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others looking for a secure and private rental experience. The refrigerator was full of food and frozen food when we arrived further alluding to the fact that someone lives there. No power outlets on one side of the room in the upstairs bedroom off to the right no hot water after the first day in the downstairs bath, we had to pull sheets from the dryer to make one a bed.
Fantastic location and great neighborhood to walk. Charming house with space for everyone to enjoy. Addressing a few details would make this place perfect. Offered amenities need to be in working order and usable, such as coffee maker that was missing a basket. Overhead light was out in one upstairs bedroom. These were brought to owner’s attention but not addressed. There were also a few random large boxes stored under tables that need to emptied. There were 2 bedside lamps upstairs that were not plugged in because there was no outlet available to plug into. At other homes we’ve stayed in it has been helpful to have instructions for appliances (such as espresso maker) in the welcome binder. We enjoyed our stay, but these few details would have made it an excellent experience.
