The Barrio Santa Rosa Neighborhood is just a few blocks south of downtown, and within walking distance of all the culture and nightlife Tucson's urban core has to offer. The surrounding architecture includes many other historic territorial victorians, Sonoran rowhouses, bungalows, and modern infill development. The neighborhood has a community garden and several public parks. This house is also directly across the street from the Five Points Market, and next to the St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store (the best thrift store in the city).
Parking is convenient and free, with street parking available right in front of the house.
This historic home has been thoughtfully converted into three separate living spaces, each private and secure. The apartments share insulated walls, and like many apartments or hotels, occasional sounds may be heard. We kindly ask guests to respect the designated quiet hours noted in our house rules to maintain a peaceful environment for everyone.
Downtown Tucson is a vibrant and growing area, with many exciting new projects underway! The Five Points region, where The Salcido House is located, is one of these lively spots with plenty to experience right nearby. As with many urban settings, the sounds of city life and traffic may be present.
Like other major cities, Tucson is working to address challenges related to homelessness. Sometimes, individuals experiencing homelessness may be seen in the surrounding neighborhoods, but they are non-intrusive and do not engage with guests. This is an area where the city is actively seeking improvements, and we encourage all our guests to approach the situation with understanding. If you ever feel concerned, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us, and local authorities are also available if needed.
These historic neighborhoods, known as "Barrios," are truly a unique part of Tucson's charm. Many of the homes are over 100 years old and offer a glimpse into the area's rich heritage, making your stay here one of discovery and authentic local character.
