About this property

Step back in time to 1913, when this historic landmark was built by the keeper of the Point Judith Lighthouse. A pillar of resilience through World War II, many hurricanes and blizzards, and a beloved home for generations!

Mr. Collins, keeper of the Point Judith Lighthouse (est. in 1806), built the home for his growing family using lumber from a dismantled barn. The house faced uncertainty during WWII when the US Government took domain over Point Judith, building underground bunkers and forts, to defend against German Submarines. In 1947 the Bourassa family purchased the home, with only well water and a fireplace for heating. Miraculously, it still stands alongside Narragansett's most spectacular views!

This home is professionally managed by Narragansett Properties. We are available to guests as needed.

Narragansett is a beautiful beach town with something for everyone. With many family friendly beaches to choose from; Scarborough Beach, Narragansett Town Beach, Roger Wheeler State Beach, and Salty Brine State Beach, all a short drive or walk away. Close by, the Block Island Ferry brings travelers to Block Island, a lovely day trip. Grab lobsters off the boat in Galilee, or grab dinner and drinks in the port! There are plenty of entertainment options close by, and in Providence and Newport. Take a trip to Charleston or Westerly, to explore more of Rhode Island's beautiful beaches, history, and eclectic art installations and galleries!

A beautiful outdoor deck overlooks the Point Judith Lighthouse and Narragansett Coastline, the backdrop for this breathtaking space. Enter from the deck to a large bay window and seating area, where guests will find it impossible to escape the spectacular views carefully watched by the Point Judith Lighthouse Keeper years ago. Shiplap walls give visions of an old ship traveling the coast, as you move into the quaint kitchen to prepare your lunch for a long day at the beach.

Pass through the living room area, where groups can also enjoy a movie night, and you will find the largest bedroom featuring a Full size bed. Nautical décor hangs as you make your way up the stairs to the second floor where a second large deck over looks the back side of the home and coastline. A smaller bedroom with a full size bed sits off the hallway, while a larger bedroom with two twin size beds is a great option for families. Groups will appreciate that each bedroom gives opportunity for ocean views at all times of the day!

While the home does not feature a washer or dryer, guests are encouraged to use the clothes line in the back and dine on the picnic bench provided. As the back of the home sits against the Rose Nulman Park (a public landmark), enjoy a bit of people watching and surfing, as Point Judith is a popular surf spot for locals. Take a short stroll to Camp Cronin and spend the day at this smaller less frequented beach.

This home provides three bedrooms, and one full bathroom. It is important to note that as a historical residence, the ceilings are lower on the upper level where two bedrooms are found. Guests should be aware that areas of the home are more narrow, and stairs are required to enter the home and reach the second level. The home does not feature AC units, but does include fans throughout the home. Fortunately the home's proximity to the edge of the Point Judith lookout provides a spectacular ocean breeze throughout the day.

**Bed sheets, bath towel sets, hand towels, kitchen towels, and bathmats will arrive in a big linen bag at your doorstep. The items are packaged in plastic to ensure that each renter is given a fresh set for their stay. This will mean making the beds, as I like to make sure that is understood as part of our efforts to put our renters' minds at ease regarding the cleanliness of the linens. Starter supplies are provided with each rental. Starter sets include at least: one roll of paper towels, one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, three trash bags, a new sponge, and hand soap in the bathroom. Guests will need to bring anything they'll need beyond those starter supplies.
