This 1st floor loft features a living room dining room area with beautiful hardwood floors, large master bedroom with a king size bed and a full bath. There is a full kitchen and a large den with an additional queen size futon and office space. There is a back patio for your enjoyment and a car port for parking.

Grandin Village Treasure

Excellent location, easy to walk to all the delights of Grandin Village. The parking spot is a plus although we saw ample street parking available as well. Big, nicely outfitted kitchen. Very quiet and relaxing stay.

Friend Getaway

This property worked well for 3 friends to meet somewhat equi-distant from our homes in three states. It was all we needed to spend time together and explore Roanoke. We had great weather and enjoyed the outdoor patio in the evening..

We arrived during Helene hurricane and had no power for first few days. Owner was very helpful and it wasn't her fault so we stayed and walked to town since it had electricity. All in all our stay was still enjoyable.

The apartment was not clean or ready for our arrival and the toilet seat was broken. When we reached out to the host we were assured they would set things right. They did clean the apartment for us but did not carry out the things they told us they would do to make this right. I was very disappointed in the poor communication and how they weren't true to their word.

Very unfortunate to both guest and us (host). The issue was caused by a VRBO system glitch and reservation never appeared in our dashboard. We learned about reservation upon arrival. We had apartment cleaned and comped both cleaning and dinner to guest for their inconvenience. This unfortunate situation was out of our control but we did everything to resolve it asap. A formal complaint was issued to VRBO and we are still waiting on a resolution.

Convenient location. Adequate place to stay but could use some TLC. Street lights from the church across the street shined very brightly in the bedroom window so some room darkening curtains would be helpful. The only bathroom is in the bedroom so this was awkward with my friend staying with me. The host was quick to respond and helpful with questions.

Roanoke getaway

We enjoyed staying in this apartment that was so walkable to the Grandin area. There was plenty of space for our family. The only draw back was the AC was one window unit without direct access in the sleeping areas. It did get a little warm at night. This would be a great place to stay in the Spring or Fall as it is a beautiful area and has everything that you need. Irene was quick to get back to us and made the trip easy. I recommend it for those who don't need "fancy" but like to feel safe, welcomed and have a great walkable location.

The photos posted for this unit do not convey the actual filthy, rundown condition of the property. My wife and I booked a 3-night stay but left after the first night because we were so disgusted. When we reached out to VRBO for a refund we were initially denied because the host claimed we were a cancellation, which was a lie. Eventually, they came around to seeing it our way and gave us a full refund. It's unfortunate that VRBO does not allow guests to post photos of properties because that would put an end to listings like this one. I'm shocked that this host is "premier" with a 4+ star rating. I'm guessing it's because most guests don't want to leave a bad review for fear that the host will respond with an undeserving bad review. Personally, I don't care. I'll speak the truth even if it prevents me from securing a VRBO booking ever again.

I live in Roanoke (rented the space for extra family) so I can attest that this is a great location. Out-of-towners should know that “downtown” activities would require a drive but the Grandin Village business district is easy walking distance from here, with access to several shops, restaurants and taverns, a wine shop, an independent movie theater, a locally owned grocery, and a charming used book store. It’s one of my favorite areas of town. Meanwhile, the property is exceptionally clean. Not a speck of dust, crumb, or stray hair to be found. If you want fancy, find a boutique hotel. I’m happy with the details here — like cool hardware (probably original) on the kitchen cabinets and porcelain sinks in the kitchen and bath, plus the beautiful black-and-white tile in the latter. The apartment is also thoughtfully well-stocked. Every “extra” we needed was already there: iron and ironing board, toaster, additional toiletries, and so on. I even found shoe scuff repair! :)The carport provided easy access to the back door which was very handy. I initially thought it was dimly lit then, voila!, a motion light kicked on. I’m so glad to know about this property. I don’t know how often I’ll need the extra space, but would readily rent it again or recommend it to others as the occasion arises.

Welcoming

The Raleigh Court neighborhood and the property manager were very welcoming. The apartment is located in a quiet and safe area that is a very short walk to Grandin Village. The greenway is also walking distance from the apartment. I stayed for several weeks and always felt comfortable coming and going.

Walking distance to “Grandin” town of Roanoke

Great neighborhood. Wd had a lovely stay within walking distance of a cute coffee shop and restaurants. It is a First floor apt., so we did hear footsteps on hardwood floors and faint voices on 2nd fl above us- during the night- which woke us up. It was a nice size apt. with a kitchen which is better than a hotel stay.

Lovely apartment in Grandin

We enjoyed staying in a lovely apartment within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Grandin. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the necessities including an excellent assortment of pots and pans, plenty of silverware and drinking glasses, etc. The king size sleigh bed was super comfortable as was the additional bed in the other bedroom. The internet and television worked perfectly. I highly recommend this lovely property!

My Family and I are from the Roanoke area. I was born in Greece (one of my favorite parts of the World) and lived in the Pittsburgh area before marrying and moving to Roanoke.
I worked in the financial services sector and then one day I had a mid life crisis. With the help of my Family we opened a Bistro/restaurant in Roanoke that we ran for 17 years.
I am now semi retired and run a small catering business and help with our property management business.
We Love to Travel (especially to Greece) and I love to cook and entertain. I truly enjoy hosting our properties and showing off the Roanoke valley and all that it has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Grandin Village is a vibrant community that you can easily walk too from the apartments. You will see people walking with their children or pets and everyone is very friendly. There are many small mom and pop restaurants and shops including the Grandin Theatre, Farmers market (Saturdays), The Roanoke Greenway and Black Dog Salvage. To me this is what a small community should be all about.
