Welcome to Harvest Hill, a modern farmhouse retreat just outside Ames and a short drive to Iowa State University.

The house is set on a quiet acreage, so guests get the best of both worlds: easy access to campus, stadiums, and restaurants, but space to relax, spread out, and actually hear each other talk.

Harvest Hill works especially well for:

Families coming for football games, graduations, and campus visits

Groups of friends or reunion weekends

Concerts and special events in Ames

Inside, you’ll find comfortable bedrooms, plenty of seating for hanging out, and a kitchen that’s actually set up to cook and serve a real meal. Outside, there’s space to enjoy the yard, let the kids (or adults) burn some energy, and unwind in the salt water hot tub after a busy day on campus.

This place is amazing. Not only was it well stocked with quality furnishings the way it was laid out gave our group the privacy that was needed but plenty of areas where we could gather for fun. We have stayed in a lot of places but this is one of the best.

This property is beautiful, extremely clean and peaceful. We enjoyed the deer wandering through the yard each morning. There is a great coffee/breakfast spot just down the road, and Uber had no trouble picking us up. This would be great for a small family reunion or game weekend with friends.

The Modern Farmhouse was beautiful. Great location, with access to everything we wanted to do, yet off the beaten path in the surroundings. Lots of privacy and the grounds are wonderful. The weather did not cooperate with us, so we were unable to use the firepit or the hot tub, but the backyard area was tucked in and very nice. The kitchen had everything we needed and was super clean. The beds and bedding were very comfortable, and the bathrooms were spotless. We had everything we needed for the first day, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, soap and shampoo. The rooms are set up with lots of space, and privacy. BJ was wonderful to communicate with. Very quick to respond, and very helpful. We would be VERY happy to stay here again.

We had such an amazing stay at BJ’s property! The house has a very modern, unique layout that the kids loved(they for sure played hide and seek inside and out and had a blast!!). It is well stocked with utensils and kitchen supplies. The hot tub is huge! The kids really enjoyed it! We were in Ames for an Odyssey of the mind competition and it was a perfect base and so relaxing to go back to after a busy day. There is a hay field you can see from the back yard and fruit bushes that will likely be ripe mid June. The house was very clean as well. I would stay here again if we had the opportunity to return in two year!! Thanks again BJ!

This was an amazing quiet property! Loved using the screened in porch. Enjoyed seeing deer, momma and fawn! The property is in close proximity to anything you might want to get to but is quiet and peaceful secluded from traffic. We enjoyed the stay.
