This dreamy cottage features a wall of glass that faces the sea for breathtaking sights along with a healthy dose of quality furnishings including a private hot tub to relax your muscles in after days of adventuring. Garnish with abundant wildlife like a resident mule deer family, gulls, geese, sea lions, and whales, and top it off with a bright interior brimming with natural light, a fully outfitted kitchen, a cozy fireplace to curl up to, and a 50' TV with premium cable, and you've got yourself a dream, cliffside ocean vacation.



A comfortable queen bed ensures that you'll receive a great night's rest while listening to the ocean waves roll in. With a fresh remodel, Puffin's Perch now features a washer/dryer, refrigerator, and loft with a memory foam-topped rollaway for those in need of a separate bed. Don't miss the heated floors in the bathroom for an extra luxurious touch! After a day of adventure at the beach where you can wade in the water as long as you like, cozy up by the firepit and watch the stars come out to dot the sky.



Ideally set between the towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg, Puffin's Perch is just a few miles from amenities and attractions like Mendocino Village, but in a seaside setting seemingly worlds away from civilization.



Guests please note, Puffin's Perch is located on a shared property with another home. Puffin's Perch is a separate structure with a separate entrance and a private hot tub for complete privacy.

When staying in the loft, take care on the steep steps.



Other Things to Note:

Check-in Form: To ensure a smooth and secure stay for all guests, we kindly require completion of our short check-in form after booking. This includes signing our standard rental agreement and verifying guest and payment information. It only takes a few minutes and helps us prepare the home for your arrival.



Pet Policy: We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs (50 lbs or under). A nightly pet fee applies and all pets must be disclosed at booking. Pets may not be left unattended unless crated, must stay off furniture, and guests are responsible for cleanup and reporting any damage. Undeclared pets or excessive mess may result in additional fees.

What a great stay. Greg is a great host! Beautiful location on the bluffs, with hot tub and fire pit where we could sit and watch the waves crash on shore, and spot sea lions bobbing and swimming in the surf. Cozy and convenient to town of Ft Bragg. Would definitely recommend, and we will be back.

Adorable little studio with a stunning view. My partner and I loved this place and intend to come back as soon as we can! Waking up to that view is incredible, as is soaking in the hot tub while watching the sunset and/or stars. Kitchen is decently well equipped, cooking at home for a few meals is totally doable with what’s there! There’s a TV and a few other creature comforts in the studio, but I’d highly recommend spending all of your time outside by the fire pit or in the hot tub admiring the view!

This was a fantastic property. Right on the ocean. A nice hike just a short walk away. Away from the hustle of life but not too far from conveniences. The hot tub and fire pit were awesome. We saw sea lions, deer, dolphins and even whales. We hope to return in the future.

We could not have been happier to have stayed at Puffin's Perch in Fort Bragg. Everything about the place lived up to, or exceeded our expectations. The views are incredible, the hot tub was perfect, and we really enjoyed the town of Fort Bragg and Mendocino too, which was just a short drive away. A few highlights for us, beyond the incredible ocean views, were Sea Glass Beach, Tall Guy brewery and North Coast brewery both in Fort Bragg, The Brickery in Mendocino, and taking the Skunk Train to the Glen Blair Bar.

Tranquil Escape

This property provided ultimate relaxation and luxury for a tranquil escape along the coast. Thoughtfully outfitted cottage left nothing to want. A Treasure!

Whether at the chairs on the cliff surrounded by pink ice plant and giant calla lilies, or watching the crashing waves from the cottage - it was spectacular being so close to the ocean. This place continued to surprise us - from the heated bathroom floors, the relaxing spa, the firepit, to the loft upstairs where I found time to read in the rocking chair, this was a perfect way to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary. Puffin’s Perch Perfection

If you want a perfect place to stay on the Mendocino Coast it doesn’t get much better than Puffin’s Perch. A great location on the outskirts of Fort Bragg, centrally located between the lovely town of Mendocino to the South and Fort Bragg’s bustling downtown to the North. Puffin’s Perch is a fabulous place for couples to stay. The A frame cottage is spacious with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The view of the crashing waves on the coastal cliffs is breathtaking, especially from the hot tub or deck. My wife and I recently returned to Puffin’s Perch 31 years after our first stay. A lot has changed in those years and we loved it all the more.
