About this property
Dean Lake House:"Historic Seneca Lake Home"
Welcome to Dean Lake House! Built in 1850, this unique, historic home features large bay windows to accent the outstanding lake view and upscale, modern conveniences. Whether you are touring the wine trail or just looking for a family getaway, this place is for you!
As you enter the main floor, a spiral staircase leads to the second floor and a formal dining room with a beautiful cherry dining set greets you. The kitchen is right off the dining room, providing convenience and plenty of counter space for preparing meals. A small table with seating for 4 overlooks the lake in the breakfast nook. The large living room and separate sitting area offer plenty of lounging space for guests and breathtaking views from the bay windows. The first floor bedroom off the sitting area features a queen bed, serene lake views, and attached bathroom with Jacuzzi tub/shower combo, vanity, and commode.
At the top of the winding staircase is a large bedroom with king bed and lake-facing balcony where guests can enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the Seneca Lake sunrises. Across the hall is a full bathroom with shower/tub combo, commode, and vanity. An additional bedroom at the end of the hall offers a double bed, closet, and limited lake view.
Between the kitchen and dining room is a staircase that leads down to the partially finished basement. Here you will find a fourth bedroom at the end of the stairs, semi private with low ceilings-a perfect space for children to play and has a queen sleeper sofa for extra sleeping. The bedroom leads into a small enclosed area with cabinets and countertops to use for buffet style meals. A half bath is located at the south end of this floor, and an access door from the enclosed porch leads directly out to the partially covered veranda overlooking the lake.
The inviting veranda is perfect for outdoor entertaining. With a length of over 40 feet, there is plenty of room for everyone to gather and enjoy the view from the multiple patio sets. The lakefront expands over 350 feet, and is mostly level with a natural entry. A permanent dock is available for swimming, sunning, or fishing.
Located about a mile from the picturesque town of Watkins Glen, this gem offers all the comforts of home including grocery stores, quaint shops, and award-winning restaurants.
