About the host

I lived in this cabin for the nature and serenity while waiting for my husband to retire, however, our daughter just had our first grandchild so we are currently living 2 hrs away in the Knoxville, TN area. As we are very happily busy helping with our grandbaby, we just don't have as much time to visit the cabin nowadays so we are going to share this special place with others that seek relaxation, natural beauty and peace.

Why they chose this property

I intentionally looked for an out of the way place where I could soak up nature's songs and just be away from the chaos of the city. I looked for several years before I came upon this little gem tucked up on a mountain with a beautiful creek rushing down below. I love falling asleep to the sounds of the creek and watching the stars and trees blowing in the breeze from the skylights while in bed. The feeling is being out in the middle of nowhere, yet we have awesome neighbors within 1/4 of a mile that are very helpful and we watch out for each other.

What makes this property unique

Our rushing creek was hard to find being that it is so close, yet far enough down below the cabin that we don't worry about flooding. I have always been fascinated by true log cabins, those made from artisans and not from a kit. Being on 25 acres means there is plenty of peace and quiet with lots of nature that visits throughout the year. Butterflies, frogs, turtles, bobcats, birds of all sorts, deer, the occasional bear and a black rat snake or two. They are harmless! The property extends all the way to the top of the mountain ridge behind the cabin.
