We want to clarify for future guests that when these concerns were reported, our maintenance team responded immediately and inspected the areas identified. Black mold was not found in the home or pool area. Some mildew was identified on a shower curtain and addressed, but this is different from the black mold described in the review. Indoor pool rooms are naturally warm, humid, enclosed environments, and the chemicals required to properly sanitize and maintain the pool can sometimes create a noticeable odor. We understand that individuals can have different sensitivities to those odors; however, we cannot determine what caused the symptoms described and do not want to speculate. Although our inspection did not substantiate the reported black mold, we recognized that the guests were unhappy with their experience and provided a $350 refund. We’re sorry this getaway wasn’t the experience you had hoped for. We want our guests to feel comfortable and confident in the homes they choose, which is why our team responds promptly whenever a concern is reported. In this case, our maintenance team inspected the home immediately, addressed the mildew that was found on the shower curtain, and found no black mold in the home or pool area. Providing clean, well-maintained homes and being there when our guests need us is an important part of the experience we strive to provide with every getaway.

Regarding the kitchen, the home is equipped with a full set of stainless steel cookware. We do not provide cast iron cookware because it can damage the glass cooktops, and we avoid non-stick cookware since it tends to wear out quickly in a vacation rental setting.
