Perfect Place to Stay

Great spot in a beautiful, safe neighborhood. Very spacious, clean, and the host is always friendly and available. Walking distance to great coffee shops like Saint Frank and Philz, gyms (Crunch flagship on Polk), and tons of great restaurants (Seven Hills, House of Prime Rib). Will stay here every time I'm in SF!

I am a former long term resident of San Francisco, and I love this City. For a lot of reasons I had an opportunity to live just about anywhere, and feel fortunate to have found this property. Stay in San Francisco

Clean ‘ hotel room’ with basic kitchen in great area. Downside is bed is only 5 ft (though space for bigger) which is a small double...so one of us slept on sofa - not perfect for 6 nights. Homeaway started as home from home rather than a hotel room so a washing machine would be appreciated.

Excellent location and host

Stayed for 1 month at Darwin’s place. Fantastic location with bay views on a quiet street in a safe neighbourhood. Great amenities and internet. Darwin is such a gracious and helpful host. Has a kitchenette so would not suit those who wish to cook but absolutely no complaints from me! Would recommend.

Great location!

We just stayed here for almost a week & it was perfect! The location is amazing- close to restaurants, easy access to the wharf area, cable cars, and Lombard Street. The accommodations are perfect- very comfy and cozy!

Fantastic apartment in a great location!

I stayed in Darwin and Camille's place for just over 2 months, it was a brilliant experience. I had never been to San Francisco before, but once I arrived at this apartment I felt at home. Everything was so well set up, the bed was very comfortable and there were all of the amenities I needed for 2 months. I feel I settled in very quickly! In terms of location, you're in the heart of Russian Hill with a beautiful view of Alcatraz from your doorstep. There are also regular bus routes metres from your hall door so it's really easy to get around and you're only a stone's throw from some very famous landmarks (Lombard Street!). Camille was a wonderful host and made sure I was welcomed and shown everything in the apartment on my first day. I cannot highly recommend this apartment enough, for a long-term stay, it was the perfect home!

Great place to stay

The apartment is in a great location! Very nice and clean, stocked with good quality toiletries, sheets, towels and as an added bonus great espresso machine! Camille was great through the entire process, specially upon our arrival date. I recommend this place greatly and would come back.

Great Location and Hosts!

Husband and son used as home base for a quick 'guys weekend' exploring in San Francisco. Hosts were lovely; all questions answered quickly, check in and out was smooth, unit is well equipped and comfortable. Couldn't ask for better!

Clean, Comfortable, and Cozy

As frequent visitors to the area, we know that good locations are easy to find, but one that is also clean, well-maintained, and provided by an outstanding host seems like too much to ask. It is located near two cable car routes but also easy walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, numerous cafe's and restaurants, and plenty of sights. Located on a relatively quiet street, it has a partial bay view, a small kitchenette, spacious bathroom with excellent water pressure with plenty of very hot water, plus a little mini fridge with a freezer that works much better than we expected. I also have several rental properties and have owned a decent-sized travel business and can really appreciate the time and expense necessary to maintain a clean and comfortable home. This studio provided the perfect environment for rest and relaxation after a long day enjoying the sights and sounds of the area. Camille was a pleasure and one of the best of many hosts we meet on our frequent travels. Ciao!

Cozy apartment in a great location!

I'm so thrilled to have found this gem! We came here to elope and was worried about having enough space for my videographer and make up artist but it was perfect for what we needed. The decor is adorable and the space is immaculate. It's in a great location, everything we needed was minutes away and Camile was the nicest host. We can't wait to come back for our anniversary!

Great Location

On a last minute trip to SF my boyfriend and I were hard pressed to find a reasonably priced hotel within the city. We stumbled across location and paid the same, if not less, than it would've cost us to stay at a 2-star hotel. The apartment is 2 blocks from Lombard street and a quick walk to both Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, and Polk St. You'll just need to walk up some huge hills to get back to the place :) Our flight arrived into town very early and Camille was so accommodating to hold our luggage in her unit for us and let us back into her unit multiple times to get a couple things we left in our bags that we needed. The unit is at the bottom corner of a fairly busy intersection/hill so the cars revving their engines to make it up the hill were pretty loud. There was also a lot of upstairs noise of someone walking around, I assume getting ready for work, at about 6am every morning for an hour that woke us up each day -- but I suppose that's all a part of city/apartment living and the silver lining was that it made us get up and get an early start. There were earplugs provided in the nightstands though which did help. The unit itself was clean, spacious, and bright and the furnishings and bathroom were all luxurious. Overall, we'd definitely stay here again!

Absolutely Fantastic Rental!!

My wife and I visited San Francisco for the very first time and we lucked out with this gem for a location to stay for 5 days.I cannot recommend enough that you will not find a better location for the money or the scenery. Camille was gracious and very helpful. We are definitely coming back as there is so much to see and do and you won't be disappointed. If I was to give any kind of a tip it would be "bring a good pair of runners" as you will want to see it all and you can see it all on foot!

Fantastic Location

My husband and I had a little getaway to San Francisco last week, and this Russian Hill studio was perfect! Camille was a great hostess, giving us good advice about getting around and transportation from the airport. We were thrilled to be so close to Lombard St., Fisherman's Wharf, and an easy walk to Chinatown and Little Italy. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit!

Absolutely perfect!

The apartment itself is absolutely adorable. It is very clean and comfortable and homey feeling. It is also in the best location possible. We walked to the Fisherman's Wharf, Marine District, Financial district, Chinatown and tons of other places. It is prime location. Darwin and Camille were so nice and Darwin assisted us with finding a street parking space and with our luggage. It was a great experience!

Quintessential San Fran

My husband and I are regular visitors of the bay area and this is by far the best accommodations we've had yet! Centrally located to most of the sights in the city including shopping in the marina, Fishermans Wharf and tons of cool restaurants. Walking around Russian Hill can definitely be a workout, but the views of the bay are totally worth it. For those that don't enjoy walking the hills, Uber is easy to use and affordable around the city! Darwin and Camille were amazing hosts are were there to greet us upon our arrival. The studio is in immaculate condition and felt very spacious for 2 people. The updated bathroom with large shower was also a nice bonus! My husband and I look forward to staying here again in the future!

Perfection in Russian Hill

My girlfriend and I stayed here for four wonderful days. The apartment is just perfection from the safe centralize location to the decor , vibe and the energy it's just perfect. It's walking distance to North Beach, Fishermans Wharf, Chinatown, and three blocks away from the world famous Lombard st. Public transportation is half a block away the trolley line is two blocks away. Uber is just a click away. The amenities are top line and plenty. The apartment was spotless very clean and fresh. The bedding and pillows felt like sleeping in a cloud. We slept like babies. Big size modern restroom with shower and extra towels. The homie modern decor in the whole place makes this apartment feel like home. It looked just like the pictures. Big windows with a little view of the water and that breeze feels so refreshing. Upon our arrival we were met by Camille, her hospitality made us feel very comfortable. She showed us the apartment and explain to us about places to go eat and where to get public transportation. She also took the time to explain to us how to use the Uber app. The owners Camille and Darwin were great and a phone call away in case we need it them. They also reside in the same building. In conclusion, I highly recommend this jewel of a place. This place is fantastic without a doubt.

Truly our second home!!!

I am so delinquent in my review.... It certainty doesn't change our thoughts about this incredible "home" in the Russian Hill area. We are regular visitors to the "city by the bay" (and this property) for many reasons, but mainly because my son, his wife and my precious grandson near by residents. This incredible home is our #1 stop when we come to visit. Darwin & Camille are the most helpful and accommodating hosts. Everything that has been said about the beauty and the comfort of this suite is 100% dead on; its hard to elaborate but I can promise it will meet and exceed all of your expectations. It is spacious and so comfortable for a few nights or an extended stay. The area is also such a treat! About three easy downhill blocks from Washington Square with lots of great restaurants and coffee spots. From there another block or two and you are in the middle of little Italy and the Chinatown. In another direction; up a couple of blocks and down to your right (pass the famous Lombard Street) is another stunning area with beautiful parks, spectacular homes, incredible views and open green space. There are great spots to shop and eat on Polk Street. And believe it or not we do a great walk from the suite all the way down to the water near Ft. Mason and back up again, maybe a 4 mile round trip?? We look forward to exploring the area more, becoming a part of this fantastic neighborhood.....pretending that it really is our "second home" in my favorite city.

Just Perfect!

My husband & I rented this suite for a nice long weekend in our favorite city! We wanted to stay in more of a neighborhood setting and we were not disappointed with this place. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners and helped with our luggage up the steps…..a nice touch! The suite was clean and the furnishings were very comfortable. The linens were soft and crisp and the entire place made us feel like we were in our own home. I especially liked a throw blanket in the closet to snuggle with on the sofa first thing in the morning while drinking my coffee….look for it (very soft) All of the touches were very nice and well thought out. You can walk up the street to catch a bus or walk another block and catch a cable car. I found a fantastic cup of coffee in a little Italian deli just up the street on the corner. Russian Hill was the perfect location for us and we are already thinking about when we should come back. Telling my friends about this one!

5 star accommodation in every way!

My husband and I rented this suite for 1 week during a work conference. It was absolutely perfect in every way. We have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world. With as much as we travel, however, we prefer to stay in quieter locations that feel more like home. This suite certainly was perfect for this. The location is quiet (for SF), beautiful view of city, safe, and has great wine bars, restaurants, and shops close by. The little touches in this suite were also much appreciated: fluffy towels, plenty of down pillows, high quality bed/bedding, extra blankets, super hot shower with plenty of water, tourism photo books of SF, 2 sets of shades that make the room dark, the list could go on. We were able to fully unpack everything and "move in" - due to the well thought out closet/drawer installation. There is also a small kitchen area that had everything we needed to stock groceries and eat healthy - fridge/microwave - dishes, wine opener, cutting boards, etc. The owners Darwin and Camille are a class act and very personable. They really treated us like great "neighbors" - helping with dining recommendations and even a lost package. If you want a great stay in SF for a great price - this is the place. I would take the peace/quiet/flexibility at this Russian Hill Luxury Suite over the downtown craziness of a high end hotel which usually costs over $600/night.

Great place! Good location!

Darwin and his family were great hosts! His wife welcomed us on the first day and gave us a lot of good shopping and restaurant recommendations! The apartment is centrally located and we were able to walk or take the trolley to most places. Cab rides to downtown and Union Square shopping are approx. $9 (one way). The apartment was beautiful, clean (looks like the pictures), and is in a fairly quiet area. I would stay here again next time I am in SF!

Great time, great place

My wife and I stayed for eight days in September. We were met by Camille, who is one of the nicest people we have ever met and very helpful. Our review is like all the others; great place, absolutely clean as could be, great location, and safe neighborhood. And yes, as everyone says, the bed and pillows were great...slept better there than at home. And as far as traffic noise, can't remember ever being disturbed by it. We had a hard time making a decision where to stay...happy we chose this one. Thanks Darwin and Camille.

Much better than a hotel

Darwin was really friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and really well decorated. I loved the fixtures in the bathroom! The bed was comfortable and Darwin and his partner had left us a list of local restaurants etc as well as a drawer full of travel books, maps and brochures which were really useful. The apartment is on one of the steeper hills in the area so the traffic engine noise during the night (and day) is quite loud (we had the windows open as it was really nice weather), but we found that there were fresh ear plugs in the bedside tables (we didn't use them but thought they were a really thoughtful item). We did have some issues with the fridge in the apartment - but they seemed to resolve at the end of the stay (it's likely that we may have knocked the temperature setting the wrong way while we were there - but Darwin took a look anyway - definitely wasn't a big deal for us so we didn't bother Darwin about it until we were leaving). Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to stay in the area when visiting San Francisco. We had friends staying down at Fisherman's Wharf in hotels who had paid more than twice what we were paying at this apartment. We were walking distance from visiting them (and the attractions at the wharf) and felt that our money was much more well spent on accommodation.

This place is a gem!

Well appointed, clean, modern and perfectly maintained studio apartment in the Russian Hill neighborhood. Spent eight lovely days visiting relatives, walking the hills and exploring San Francisco. The location and accomodations could not have been nicer.
