Newly renovated with south-facing balcony - large bathroom and large dining area - 65 sqm

My guesthouse in the Franconian Lake District consists of four modern and comfortably furnished holiday apartments and a large garden. The guesthouse is situated in a quiet location between Lake Altmühl and Lake Brombach, on the outskirts of Haundorf.

Holiday Apartment 2 on the ground floor (approx. 65 square metres) has been completely renovated and consists of a living room, a bedroom, a large, fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a corner bathtub and a walk-in shower. You can access the sunny south-facing balcony from both the living room and the bedroom. The apartment is furnished with a double bed and a bunk bed. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room.

SURROUNDINGS:
The Franconian Lake District, south of Nuremberg, is the perfect place to relax, hike, and cycle. In the summer, you can sunbathe on the numerous beaches along the seven lakes. Active holidaymakers particularly appreciate the well-developed and clearly marked cycling and hiking trails. All lakes are surrounded by a cycling and hiking trail and are best explored by bike. For water sports enthusiasts, sailing, surfing, kitesurfing, and/or wakeboarding are popular activities.

The town of Haundorf is a state-recognized resort located in the heart of the Franconian Lake District. Thanks to its central location right next to the Mönchswald, the town is an ideal starting point for bike rides, hikes, and days at the beach. The Altmühlsee is only 6 km away, and you can reach the large Brombachsee in about 20 minutes (15 km away). The Haundorf Ponds are located in the immediate vicinity; they’re perfect for walks and are a popular spot to cool off in the summer (swimming and barbecuing are allowed).

Gunzenhausen is the nearest town (about 8 km away) with a very beautiful town centre and numerous shopping options and restaurants. Every Thursday, the weekly market—which is very popular with both locals and tourists—takes place here, featuring regional products.

FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN:
There’s plenty to do for children in the region, too. A large adventure playground at the Seezentrum Wald on Lake Altmühl is open year-round. Pirate boat tours featuring an exciting treasure hunt take place regularly on the MS Altmühlsee, and for older kids, there’s the high ropes course at Brombachsee, which includes a spectacular zip-line ride over Igelsbachsee. For families with children, the Nuremberg Zoo and/or the Playmobil FunPark are excellent choices for a day trip, with a travel time of less than an hour.

SWIMMING AND SAUNAS:
In addition to the numerous swimming beaches in the Lake District, Gunzenhausen also features a large recreational pool with a spacious swimming and leisure pool, a sunbathing lawn, slides, and a diving platform. In case of bad weather or during the winter, visitors can enjoy the Juramare recreational pool in Gunzenhausen. This facility also features the diverse and award-winning Saunadorf with a spacious sauna garden and an extensive range of wellness offerings. Those seeking relaxation also love the Altmühltherme in Treuchtlingen. Here, the sauna area, thermal baths, and activity pool are all under one roof—and just 35 km away.

DAY TRIPS:
Is FOCUS magazine right, and does Dinkelsbühl really have the most beautiful old town in Germany? Or is the largely preserved medieval old town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber actually the more beautiful one? See for yourself. Dinkelsbühl is 45 km away, and Rothenburg ob der Tauber is 65 km from the accommodation. Both cities are certainly international tourist attractions. They’re less than an hour away and are therefore ideal for day trips.
Bavaria’s second-largest city, Nuremberg, is also just 50 km from Haundorf and can be reached by car in less than 60 minutes. Here, a historic old town with many Franconian half-timbered houses surrounding Nuremberg Castle awaits you. Culture lovers will enjoy visiting the Nuremberg State Theatre. Animal lovers are more likely to head to the large Nuremberg Zoo, home to 300 animal species. And don’t forget the Playmobil Fun Park for all ages in the Nuremberg area.
