About this property

Lakefront · Dock · 8 Acres · Hot Tub · 2 Fire Pits

Your own private acreage on Douglas Lake with a summer dock, two fire pits and a hot tub overlooking the cove. Bring your boat, catch fish for dinner, and end every night gathering around crackling fires under the stars. Secluded enough to feel like your own private corner of Tennessee — but never far from what you need.

🍂❄️ Fall and winter stays (October through mid-May): The water in Douglas Lake is seasonally lowered. The nearby channel still holds water, but it's noticeably lower than in the photos. Our cove off of the channel has water in October, but very little water from November-February. The dock sits on dry ground from at least October-mid-May. Fishing from the bank or a boat is still great. Our cove fills beginning in March, with the dock typically floating from mid-May through September. See "Douglas Lake" below for more details.

Welcome to Kajun Kove—a three-level lakefront retreat where the real vacation happens on the water and around the fire pit. Some cabins are just a place to sleep. Kajun Kove is where the trip actually happens.

Tucked into eight secluded, wooded acres along the serene shores of Douglas Lake, Kajun Kove was built for families who live for the water — the fishing, the fire pits, and the nights under the stars. With generous lake frontage, your own private dock, and water views from nearly every corner of the property, the lake isn't just nearby — it's your backyard.

🏡 The House

Kajun Kove spreads across three levels plus a private garage suite. Every bedroom and the living room have a TV with DirecTV.

The main floor has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room with an electric fireplace. The screened-in porch opens to a deck with a gas grill and plenty of seating.

The private garage suite comes with its own entrance, mini-fridge, microwave, hot plate, full bathroom, and exterior refrigerator/freezer — ideal for storing bait, catch, or extra provisions.

The basement is anchored by a pool table, foosball, and a card table. Step outside to the patio where the 5-person hot tub sits beneath the deck with a view straight to the lake.

Bedrooms

🛌 Bedroom 1 — Main floor. King bed. Steps from the screened-in porch and open-air deck.

🛌 Bedroom 2 — Upper level. King bed. Walk-in closet. Private balcony with lake views.

🛌 Bedroom 3 (Loft) — Upper level. Queen bed. Walk-in closet. Shares a full bathroom with Bedroom 2.

🛌 Garage Suite — Private entrance. Two queen beds. Full ensuite bathroom. Exterior refrigerator/freezer.

🛋️ Basement — Futon and sofa sleeper for the kids.

Bathrooms

🛀 Main floor — Full bathroom, tub/shower combo.

🛀 Upper level — Full bathroom, standing shower. Shared between Bedroom 2 and the Loft.

🛀 Basement — Full bathroom, standing shower. Includes washer and dryer.

🛀 Garage Suite — Full ensuite bathroom, standing shower.

🌳 Outdoor Space

Eight wooded acres means room to breathe. Two fire pit areas give the group options: gather around the main fire pit ringed by six Adirondack chairs and strung with lights, or follow the path toward the lake to the second fire pit — six more chairs, stars overhead, water in front of you.

👣 Getting down to the lake, dock, and lower fire pit involves sloped, uneven terrain, so the shoreline may not be the best fit for guests with significant mobility concerns. The main fire pit is accessed by a number of steep stairs. The main house and hot tub are both easily accessible.

🏞️ Douglas Lake

Ranked a top-ten bass fishing lake and one of the top five lakes in the country for crappie fishing, Douglas Lake holds largemouth, striped, spotted, and white bass, along with bluegill, catfish, sauger, and walleye.

🐟 Cast from your private dock, hire one of the area's professional striper and crappie guides, or launch your boat from Griffin Island Campground and tie up to our dock when the lake is high. From Kajun Kove's property, you'll mostly catch bass.

❄️ The main channel of Douglas Lake remains substantial even in winter, with most areas still around 60 feet deep. Fishing from the banks or by boat is still a great option during these months, and there's plenty more to enjoy — exploring the shale-lined shores, hiking, and biking are all wonderful ways to experience the area in the off-season. The Griffin ramp is accessible year-round. Check the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) website for current and expected conditions before your trip.

🐾 Pet Policy: Up to 3 dogs are allowed for a fee of $250 per dog per stay. All dogs must be over one year old, potty-trained, crate-trained, and crated when home alone. The number of dogs must be indicated when booking.

The property sits in the perfect sweet spot: secluded on the water, but never more than 30 minutes from world-class attractions. You can spend the day fishing and relaxing on the dock, then venture out for dinner or adventure. Many guests find they never leave—there's that much to do on the property and lake.

WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR

Kajun Kove is designed for groups who want the FULL experience, not just a place to sleep.

FISHING ENTHUSIASTS & BOAT OWNERS: Bring your boat, launch at the nearby ramp, and tie up at the private dock all week. Fish from the water or dock. Store your catch in the private refrigerator.

MULTI-GENERATIONAL FAMILIES & LARGE GROUPS: With 4 bedrooms, 7 beds, and 4 bathrooms, Kajun Kove sleeps 12 comfortably. Kids love the game room, hot tub, and dock. Parents appreciate the space—everyone has their own bedroom. Grandparents relax on Adirondack chairs while grandkids explore the woods and shoreline.

CELEBRATIONS & FRIEND GROUPS: Reunions, birthdays, and group getaways thrive here. Indoor entertainment (game room, TV, dining) and outdoor gathering spaces (fire pits, hot tub, dock) keep everyone engaged.

PARKING

Arrival note: the driveway has a few tight corners — take it slow and you'll be fine. Parking for your boat and at least 5 vehicles once you're in. AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended in winter and will be necessary if there is snow or ice.

Our whole family stayed at Kajun Kove and everyone enjoyed our time there. The hot tub after a long day of hiking was perfect and we enjoyed playing pool on our down time. There was plenty of space for everyone and the lake view was very nice, it’s a quiet and relaxing place

This cabin is everything you’d think! Pictures do not do it justice! Quiet and peaceful. Everything we needed for the stay. Very clean, and my boys loved the apartment over the garage for their own “guy time”. Super thankful for the extra directions to the cabin. I would suggest maybe a bigger Kajun Kove sign with some lights for arrivals after dark. But other than that we loved the place and will be visiting in the spring/summer again!!

Captain Mark is a tugboat captain based out of New Orleans who knows a thing or two about life on the water. Kajun Kove is his personal retreat on Douglas Lake — built for exactly the kind of trip he loves: good fishing, good company, and nowhere you have to be.

Why they chose this property

Most lake rentals in the Smoky Mountains put you near the water. Kajun Kove puts you on it — with your own private dock, direct lake frontage, and eight wooded acres that feel nothing like the resort-style properties crowding the Pigeon Forge corridor. This is a real lakefront property on one of the best fishing lakes in the country, managed by people who take it seriously. If the lake is the point of the trip, this is where you want to be.

What makes this property unique

Eight private acres on Douglas Lake. Your own floating dock. A boat ramp one minute away. A covered hot tub with lake views. Two fire pits. A nearly 700 square foot basement gathering space. A private garage suite with its own entrance. These are not amenities you find combined at most lake rentals in Tennessee — and on a lake ranked among the top in the country for bass and crappie fishing, the location alone sets Kajun Kove apart.
