This well kept holiday home offers great views across the Atlantic and Skellig Michael where Star Wars was filmed. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a cosy living room with an open fireplace, a fully equipped modern kitchen and a very bright conservatory from which you can enjoy the magnificient views even on a rainy day.
Breda’s House sits on an elevated site at the end of a cul-de-sac lane ( a dead end lane) about four kilometers off the Skellig Ring Scenic Road between the fishing village of Portmagee and Ballinskelligs. It offers great sea views across the Atlantic, the Skellig Rocks, Puffin Island and the rugged coastline where you can see the massive waves breaking. The “Blue Flag Beach” of St. Finian´s Bay is nearby. The Blue Flag is an European award for clean beaches with clean water. The near vicinty of the house offers ample possibilities for walking along the coastal trails, for cycling on rural country lanes, for exploring the many ancient sites of the Celts or just just for relaxing and enyoying the great sunsets and the fresh Atlantic breeze. Some fine Golf Courses/ Links in Waterville.

This place is everything it claims and much more! If you want a tranquil location full of nature and a spectacular view this is the place. Plenty of space in the home. Very clean. We loved that the wonderful Bolus barracks trail is nearby.

Incredible Piece of Natural Beauty and Solitude

This property is perfect for the person who is looking to engage in the natural, rugged, untamed beauty that is the Southwest Coast of Ireland. The home is at the very end of the Bolus Loop Walking Trail with a clear view of the Skellig Islands and St. Finian's Bay, in all their majesty. The night sky is part of "Dark Sky Ireland" and it did not disappoint. While it is an ideal remote retreat, there are a few lovely villages nearby (Waterville, Portmagee and Valencia). These are where you can get your boat trips to the Skelligs, explore stone circles, stone forts, castles, abbeys and all that the Ring of Kerry has to offer IF you feel the need to leave this idyllic refuge. The home has the basic amenities you'd expect, with a wonderful glass-enclosed dining room that affords amazing sunsets and a perfect place for family meals and very roomy bedrooms. Note to American Travellers: You will need to bring all of your toiletries as none are provided. You will get two towels per person and no washcloths nor top sheets. There are two dish towels. There are no paper towels nor napkins, and there are four rolls of toilet paper provided. The house is fully equipped with all the basics, but the spices and sundries, I assume, are those left by previous guests, so plan to get what you need or want in town before you come all the way out to the home. We've been all over Ireland but this time was truly the most beautiful location we'd ever stayed in.

Worse experience ever

Upon arrival at night the house appeared very well put together. However after evening showers and walking around, we all noticed how dirty our socks were. When pulling back the bed covers in the 3 rooms we used, each bed had hair and dirt in them. The internet never worked. We only stayed 1 night and left the next morning to find a cleaner place. Beware-the house sleeps 8, but you are charged for any add'l person after 2. There is a hefty cleaning fee. You have to pay for oil and electricity. You must haul out your own garbage to town and even buy your own garbage bag in town. I asked the management team 3 times prior to arrival what the cleaning cost was, and was never answered. I'm sure the owners are extremely nice people, however they should change management companies. Oh yeah, I never received a refund. I would have gladly called the owners that night if we had cell service, but with no internet, we had no cell service. We had booked for 4 nights and could only take it the first night, since we arrived late and town was too far away to try to find something else. We have stayed in many other rentals and have never had an experience like this. It's too bad this didn't work out, we were so looking forward to this home.

Erholung pur

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Mary hat uns freundlich empfangen und alles gezeigt. Sie gab uns auch noch viele Tipps was wir machen können. Das Haus selbst ist toll, alles was man benötigt ist da. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Sogar Öl, Salz und eine große Auswahl an Gewürzen. Die Zimmer haben einen atemberaubenden Ausblick. Alles war sauber und zu unseren vollsten Zufriedenheit. Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal. Danke auch für die unkomplizierte Buchung. Jede Frage wurde prompt beantwortet.

Einmalige Lage mit bombastischen Ausblick

Wo fange ich an : Schon bei der Buchung war Fr.Huelstrunk sehr aufmerksam und kontaktbereit .Man fühlte sich gleich gut beraten und sehr freundlich bedient. Klasse Wegbeschreibung mit Ausflugs und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten wurde per Mail und sogar nochmal mit der Post zugeschickt .Klasse Service !!!! Das Haus lag abseits in einer traumhaften Gegend .Der Blick war vom Haus einfach einmalig schön .Mary - die gute Seele des Hauses ist einfach mit Worten nicht zu beschreiben. Sie ist so hilfsbereit und auskunftsfreudig. Man kann mit Ihr rumalbern ..lachen .. Einfach unkompliziert und toll ..Als wenn man sich schon Jahre kennt. Wir sind in der Gegend und auch weiter sehr viel unterwegs gewesen. Hatten für November auch Klasse Wetter. Nur einen Tag Regen von 10 Tagen .Nun zum Haus .Es bietet viele Schlafmöglichkeiten .Also wirklich für 8 Personen geeignet. Wohnzimmer mit Kamin lud zu schönen kuscheligen Abenden ein .Die Küche mit Essecke (Traumhafter Meerblick) gross und geräumig. Eines möchte ich erwähnen wofür Mary und Vermieter nichts können !!!!!! Wenn man eine Küche als Urlaubsmieter benutzt ...sollte man den benutzten Ofen auch anschließend auch säubern .Wir finden das es zum Anstand gehört alles wieder vernünftig zu hinterlassen !! Deswegen haben wir uns da ein bisschen über andere vorherige Urlauber geärgert .Und leider spielt der CD Player in der Küche keine CDs ab .- Scheint defekt zu sein - Dieses soll aber wirklich keine böse Kritik sein !!! Es war ein traumhafter Urlaub !! Ein tolles Haus !!! Eine erstklassige Mary !!!! Und Fr.Huelstrunk und Team leisten eine tolle Arbeit !!! Wir würden hier jederzeit wieder buchen !!! Einen lieben Dank nochmal an alle !!!

Great escape to a remote but spectacular location.

It is hard to put into words how much my family enjoyed our stay. Everywhere you turned there was beautiful scenery. The walking trail enhanced the visit with an opportunity to hike high in the hills for even more gorgeous scenery. we were looking for a nice quite getaway and this was the perfect place. We enjoyed preparing our owns meals and watching the sunsets.

Stunning views, House bigger than it looks, well equipped and very spacious.

The views are stunning. Even for an Irishman this place is at the end of the world. The house is very comfortable, the rooms are larger than expected and two of the bedrooms have attached bathrooms. Plenty of tableware and pots and pans. There was coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pepper etc in the house and some herbs - so, nice to have the little things you may have forgotten. The welcome from Mary was fabulous and she met us in a nearby village to escort us the last few miles. The only improvement would be the bed mattresses. They are typical for a rental and not exactly Hilton standard, bluntly some need to be replaced. Other than that I would say - "Perfect" It would be my first choice to stay here again if visiting the area.

Belle maison, très pratique, ... et quelle vue !!!

Une superbe maison, très pratique avec 4 chambres et 3 salles de bain (dont 2 privatives dans 2 chambres). La vue de la pièce vitrée est absolument magnifique, surtout au couché de soleil ! Nous y avons passé beaucoup de temps. Son seul défaut, un léger éloignement des sites tourristiques via une petite route, mais cela rajoute de mon point de vue le "charme de l'Irlande" !!!

Einfach nur klasse

Sehr zu empfehlen, ein tolles Haus, geräumig, hell, sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Besonders der verglaste Sitzplatz zum Essen mit der traumhaften Aussicht. Guter Kontakt im Vorfeld und gute Betreuung durch Mary vor Ort. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wunderschön

Wir haben einen unvergesslichen Urlaub in einer wunderschönen Gegend erlebt. Alles hat super geklappt, Marry der Kontakt vor Ort war sehr freundlich. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, gemütlich und sauber. Wir haben es jeden Morgen genossen im Wintergarten zu frühstücken und dabei in die Skelligbay zu schauen. Die Wellen und Felsklippen, dahinter die grünen Weiden, das sich oft innerhalb Minuten verändernde Wetter - diese Bilder bleiben unvergesslich. Wir haben viele Ausflüge gemacht und die Umgebung erkundet und viel Schönes erlebt und gesehen. Wir können dieses Urlaubsziel nur weiter empfehlen!

Ein gemütliches, einladendes Haus mit einem tollen Blick auf das Meer.

Wir waren als eine Gruppe von 4 Ehepaaren, einem Sprinter mit Anhänger und darauf sechs Motorrädern zu Gast. Die Anfahrt zum Haus war eine gewisse Herausforderung, insgesamt jedoch machbar. Wir haben das Haus als einladend und freundlich, sauber und ordentlich angetroffen. Der Blick auf das Meer war grandios. Auch bei etwas vermehrt regenerischen Wetter konnte man sich sehr wohlfühlen, in kühleren Zeiten war der Kamin gut nutzbar. Für die Selbstversorgung waren alle Utensilien vorhanden. Uns hat es allen sehr gut gefallen.

Idyllisches Cottage mit guter Lage zum Erkunden der Umgebung

Das Cottage ist wunderschön gelegen und bietet einen traumhaften Blick auf die Skelligs und den Atlantik. Das Haus empfiehlt sich nur für Gäste, die gerne Auto fahren, da viele Ausflugsziele mit einer längeren Fahrt verbunden sind. Der Kontakt und die Abrechnung waren sehr unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Die Räume im Haus waren alle sehr gepflegt und sauber und die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet.

optimale Lage, perfekte Betreuung

Dieses Cottage war für mich der optimale Ort, um meinen 60. Geburtstag zu feiern. Zwei Wochen genossen wir dieses tolle Haus. Wir waren für vier Tage zu sechst in diesem Haus, was mit drei Bädern überhaupt kein Problem war. Das 4.Schlafzimmer ist als Kinderzimmer zu verstehen, da es über keinen eigenen Schrank verfügt. Die Ankunft erfolgte, wie telefonisch besprochen, der Schlüssel würde stecken, so war es auch. Mary war immer erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit! Die Küche mit sehr guter Ausstattung und vielfältigen Gewürzen! ! Die Abrechnung absolut korrekt. Unschlagbar der Wintergarten mit dem phantastischen Blick auf die Skelligs und Pufingisland! Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Tankstelle sind mit einer 30 minütigen Fahrzeit verbunden, d.h. ein Fahrzeug ist erforderlich. Würde das Cottage jederzeit wieder buchen!

phantastischer Atlantik Blick auf die Skelligs

Das Cottage übertraf unsere Erwartungen! Wir waren für einige Tage mit 6 Personen vor Ort, was bei 3 Bädern überhaupt kein Problem war. Das 4.Schlafzimmer ist als Kinderzimmer zu verstehen, da es über keinen eigenen Schrank verfügt. Das Wohnzimmer mit offenen Kamin war sehr heimelig,die Küche perfekt ausgestattet, habe noch nie so eine Auswahl von Gewürzen vorgefunden, einschließlich Kaffee, Tee, Olivenöl, Essig,...! Unschlagbar der Wintergarten mit dem phantastischen Blick auf den Atlantik und Pufingisland! Die Übergabe des Cottage war, dass Mary uns telefonisch mitteilte, der Schlüssel würde stecken, so war es auch. Das Haus war sehr sauber und Mary überaus hilfsbereit. Wandermöglichkeit direkt vor dem Haus zu eindrucksvollen Klippen, mit Blick auf Skelligs ! Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mit 20 Minuten Fahrzeit verbunden. Man braucht ein Fahrzeug. Habe hier meinen 60. Geburtstag gefeiert und hätte mir keinen besseren Ort vorstellen können! ! Würde das Cottage jederzeit wieder buchen!

Eine Woche Erholung pur

Wie haben in diesem wirklich sehr schönen Haus eine schöne, erholsame Urlaubswoche verbracht. Die Lage und die Aussicht sind perfekt. In dem schönen, hellen Wintergarten haben wir den Tag mit einem Frühstück mit Meerblick begonnen und mit fantastischen Sonnenuntergängen bei einem Glas Guiness ausklingen lassen. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist hervorragend. Es ist alles da was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub benötigt und selbst Gewürze diverse Teesorten waren vorhanden und Mary, die gute Fee des Hauses, stand und jederzeit mit Rat zur Seite. Wer die absolute Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit in der Natur liebt und morgens vom Blöken der Schafe und Lämmer geweckt werden möchte, der ist hier genau richtig. Wir werden sicherlich nochmal an diesen schönen Ort zurückkommen.
