About the host

Host profile image
Our names are Alyssa and Evan, and we are so excited to host guests coming to explore the city we call home. We first met during our freshman year of college at Colorado State University in our dorm, Corbett Hall. In our free time, you'll find us biking around town to enjoy the parks, restaurants, breweries, and friends that make Fort Collins feel so special to us. Please don't hesitate to reach out for questions or recommendations- we would love to share our favorite spots with you!

Why they chose this property

We have always dreamed of living in this neighborhood. From the picturesque streets to the historic homes to the incredible location, you really can't beat Old Town East. We love the short bike ride to Old Town Square, two-block walk to CSU, and easy access to the rest of central and south Fort Collins. After living in so many different neighborhoods around FoCo over the years, we've found that this area offers charm, character, and location unlike any other.

What makes this property unique

One incredibly special part of our home is that it holds historic designation by the City of Fort Collins. Built in 1890, this house was one of just 15 built on this side of the university shortly after its opening. CSU first opened its doors through the help of community members coming together to raise funds, donate land, and build its first classrooms after federal funding was cut shortly before work was to start. One of those community members, Elizabeth Crafts, donated this land and built those first 15 homes to help grow the small college and attract students and professors with housing. Our home can be seen on some of the earliest maps of Fort Collins. The guesthouse was added on in 1950 to continue the tradition of professors getting to host students during their studies. We hope you enjoy all of the rich history and character our home has to offer.
