Prime location at the former fishing harbour!!

This house is situated directly on the second line of dikes in the twin towns of Dornumersiel/Westeraccumersiel, where on February 16–17, 1962, during the
severe storm surge, the water—fortunately—stopped rising just outside the doorstep, making it a uniquely situated property.
The fishing port was right outside the door but, for compelling reasons, unfortunately had to be relocated approximately 1,000 metres further out by 1964.

From the balcony of the holiday rental, you could watch the fishermen’s activities back then—sailing into the harbour, unloading their catch, repairing their broken fishing nets right on the quay wall, selling fish and crabs straight from the boat, the fleet setting sail, and so on.
Until 1964, the Westeraccumersiel harbour was one of the most beautiful harbours on the East Frisian North Sea coast.

Back then, it took me just 30 steps to grab a few crabs—sometimes still warm—from our fishing boat.
Those were different times—carefree times—during which I grew up here.
I call that “home.”

The beach, the harbour, and the outdoor seawater pool are all within a 10-minute walk.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Wadden Sea, lies right at your feet here.
If you’re planning a hike in the Wadden Sea, it’s best to bring old athletic shoes or trainers that can be disposed of afterwards.
Please “never” go on a longer mudflat hike without a mudflat guide.
Mudflat hikes are organised, among other places, by our National Park Centre in Westeraccumersiel / Dornumersiel.

A cosy, well-furnished holiday rental awaits you,
At least, that’s what my guests tell me. The apartment has a separate entrance and, of course, can be checked into contactlessly.
The highlight of this apartment is
the unobstructed view of the dyke foreshore and our former fishing harbour, which has been transformed into an inviting, maritime-themed square with a few beach chairs. These invite you to linger, relax, and sunbathe.
But you can also enjoy ice cream, coffee, and cake here, because
the cafes, ice cream parlours, and a restaurant are right next door.

Every now and then, a small event takes place here as well. (At the end of May, “Elführtje”.....
in July, “Open-Air Church Service”
and on the last Sunday in September, the “Jam Market.” Among other things, jams made by local housewives are offered here.

Guests’ culinary needs are well taken care of.)
