Year Round Lakefront Property On Beautiful Charleston Lake

Enjoy a true Canadian summer experience on spectacular Charleston Lake famous for its crystal clear water, excellent fishing and natural wildlife. Boasting over 100 miles of shoreline, and over 100 islands this large deep lake is the perfect place to spend a holiday. Our property is easterly facing providing beautiful sunrises, and some afternoon shade for hot summer days. Excellent swimming from dock or wade in from shore, perfect for children. Yard ideal for playing lawn games.
The cottage is conveniently located close to the village of Charleston where there is a marina, boat launch and boat rentals as well as a restaurant and ice cream parlour.
Home is separable into 2 levels. The upper level (over 1,000 square feet) walks out to the lake and has 2 bedrooms, bathroom with tub and shower, fullsize modern kitchen with dinning area, and a large sun room with large TV/DVD player. The lower level (which can be closed off for noise!) is about 800 square feet of brand new construction has 2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower, and large common room. There is also a Cabana right at the dock which has a large sitting area. Pre-approval of Pets required.

"Shirley's Temple

Stayed for a week. Purpose was fishing. Place was excellent. All amenities of home. Didn't need to bring anything except food and drink. Enjoyed entire time there.

Great family vacation spot

Rented cottage with a sibling & family along with our Mom. It was a great spot. Lots for kids (7 and 10) to do and lots of spaces for us to be together or in smaller groups. Beds were comfy and this was definitely the equipped kitchen I've encountered. Lake, dock and slide were quite popular and we appreciated being able to use kayaks and paddle boats. Groceries, LCBO, marina are about 15 min away. Truly a lovely spot and we recommend it.

WONDERFUL!

We had a wonderful stay over thanksgiving weekend with the kids. Cottage was nice clean and spacious with all amenities. Fishing was great off the dock. The lake was beautiful. The owner Chris who stayed next door was a gracious host. We arrived late and he checked in on us and even brought us food as all the stores were closed which we really appreciated. Thank you for your hospitality Chris. We would definitely come back!

Great Time.

Stayed for the week. Great place and the owners were very accommodating. I would recommend the place and owners to anyone. I have one minor complaint, need light out shades in the bedroom on the first floor. First light around 5am would wake me up. . John

Chris and Chantal Van Staveren discovered Charleston Lake just over 10 years ago and fell in love immediately. The crystal clear deep water, and granite outcrops, with tons of areas to explore, were perfect for summers with their 2 children.

Why they chose this property

We purchased our original property next door in 2008 but so many of our friends and family love to come visit us at the lake - so we needed extra space. We saw the potential in this property so we bought it in the summer of 2013, and renovated it.

What makes this property unique

Ability to leverage the infrastructure in place such as floating swim platform with slide. Great views of Websters bay from the sunroom and cabana.
