This Beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Ocean View condo in the heart of Playa Flamingo. Sunset Heights has two pools to choose from and a gym for your personal fitness.

The condo has plenty of space and has a great view from every room. The huge balcony overlooking Portrero Bay can be accessed from every room as well and is a great place to relax after a day at the beach, horseback riding or enjoying a Canopy (zip line) Tour.

It is perfect for a family or friends to relax in paradise.

This condo is across the street from the world-famous Monkey Bar.

Tamarindo is just 20 minutes from Playa Flamingo where you can find shopping, restaurants, beginner surf, and great night life. You can be to the incredible, active Arenal Volcano which has some of the best zip line tours in the country in 3.5 hours. Also 2.5 hrs to Lake Nicaragua and the oldest town in the Americas, Granada Nicaragua! Playa Grande is only 15 minutes away and has the most consistent surf in the country. Playa Grande is also home to the protected Sea Turtle nesting site. See 6' leatherbacks laying eggs in the sand on the protected beaches of Playa Grande. Or journey north to the secluded beaches of Playa Danta, Playa Penca or Playa Azucar (sugar beach).

This property was everything you could want. Large, clean rooms, that were close to everything.

Roxanna and her team went above and beyond to help us ensure our stay was everything we wanted. The property was clean and spacious. The view from the huge balcony was breathtaking. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Playa Flamingo area.

Almost perfect!

My husband & I spent 11 nights here in this wonderful condo, which had way more space than the two of us needed as it has an extra bedroom with 2 double beds along with the master which had a very comfortable king bed. We were more than happy with the unit though and we spent most of our time while around the condo out on the large deck relaxing and enjoying the warmth of Costa Rica after leaving the cold of Alberta, Canada behind. The owners have thought of everything right down to having a blender in the unit which came in handy for making Pina Coladas! Having a washer & dryer right in the condo was nice, along with two bathrooms! The only downside is that it is a little bit of a walk to the beach especially in the heat and up the hill, along with the construction being done on the road in front of the condo the entire time we were there and they started at 6:00 a.m. every morning and finished exactly 12 hours later like clockwork, even on the weekend! This is not the fault of the condo owners though and I am sure it will be done soon! All in all a wonderful place!

Comfortable and good bargin

We stayed for 4 days with another couple and found the condo and grounds to be comfortable, close to everything we needed, and in good condition. We did enjoy the patio every morning and in between activities. We were escorted by the management company and given a rundown of the amenities which were sufficient for our needs. The kitchen had utensils, plates, bowls, and cookware enough for 4-5 people but did not include what I would consider kitchen staples such as salt, pepper, sugar, etc. We purchased all these as well as coffee and spices and left the remainder for other guest use. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning is adjustable per room and it was nice to have use of the beach gear including boogie boards. The Marina is right across the street with the Monkey bar (not very exciting) and a great snorkel beach area on the Portrero bay side- we brought our own snorkel gear and really enjoyed it. We walked down about 4-5 blocks ish to Flamingo beach every day and had 2 meals at Coco Loco which had great food but they got our orders wrong each time and then argued with us about it. Angelinas had amazing food and drinks on an open patio which was a nice splurge. We chose this place for the value and proximity and were not disappointed.

Great Location in Flamingo

Loved the location. The view was spectacular. We appreciated Roxana at the conceirge who helped with so many arrangements that included a Sunset Cruise with snorkeling. Food delivery, car arrangements and a private shuttle from the airport. We would definitely stay again.

Property was nice; concierge was not good.

I scheduled a shuttle from the airport to the condo with the concierge- Roxana Arrieta. I sent 2 emails and called confirming the shuttle. I was told the driver would be at the airport holding a sign with my name. We arrive and there's no one at the airport to pick us up. I have my infant with me. There's a guy trying to get us to go in his car and being really sketchy. Not cool, don't want my family in this situation. I ended up getting to use someone's phone to call Roxana to see where our driver was. She said he had a flat and they didn't send anyone in his place. I explained I wasn't going to wait at the airport for an hour and I'm not one to take risks with my family so i wasn't going to get in the car with just anyone. We finally got a driver;I called Roxana from the driver's phone to confirm he was with her company before leaving with him. The condo itself was nice and looks better than the pictures but Roxanas' service was disappointing.

Even more then expected

I could write a lot of great things but in a few words the accommodations were more than perfect. Lots of room for my wife and I , everything clean and tidy close to all the beaches . We are in our 60,s planned to walk everywhere ended by renting a street legal golf cart . A must to get around . The weather is hot. Food is fantastic . Thanks. ROY

The property was clean and well managed.

We had a beautiful view and were very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary hardware to cook but there is nothing such as spices in the cupboards so be prepared to purchase all your ingredients. The apartment was clean but certain things needed attention such as the toilet seat in one of the bathrooms and the door handle on the sliding glass door. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Nice and Roomy

The condo was very nice and roomy! We had two teenagers and they had their own space and own bathroom, so that was a first for us. We spent most of our time out and about enjoying adventures of Costa Rica, but the beds were comfy and we have no complaints. Everything was clean and we left it as we found it. The balcony was a very generous size. The area of the condo is quiet with little action around. The concierge was helpful via emails, but once there, we were on our own to figure things out, so that was a surprise. But we are resourceful and everything worked out fine when we found another local who helped us reserve the best adventures for our visit.

Awesome! Peaceful and quite!!

My parents and I loved it. Very peaceful and the best thing, close to everything. Stores, beach, restaurants, everything is close by. If you look for a place to relax, this is it. And with a lot of places so close, you can enjoy the nightlife as well. Wonderful.

Perfect Family Getaway

This was the perfect place for our family (3 kids: 8, 5 and 3). There are several beaches to choose from all less than a 20 min drive away. Lots of variety ranging from white sand with hardly any waves to full on surfing beaches. Beyond that the kids loved playing in the two pools on the property. Great restaurants to choose from nearby, though we were able to do most of our meals in the condo's kitchen, which is always convenient with picky eaters. Everything was clean and in relatively good working order, and the owners as well as the local management company were responsive and helpful. The balcony connecting the three rooms is what makes this location. It overlooks the bay and mountains beyond and is a great place to sit early in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee watching the sunrise, take an afternoon nap in one of the loungers, or hang out in the rocking chairs enjoying the evening. I would definitely want to have a car here-- there isn't much within walking distance. It is a sleepy beach town, it shuts down early, so if you want the late night fun stay somewhere else. Hope to come again! Beaches: - Danta/Dantita - park at Las Catalinas which is secure and they will let you go through to Playa Danta which is a good boogie boarding beach. Walk across the rocks at low tide, or hike up and over the mountain to Playa Dantita for a much calmer beach. Nice restaurant and ice cream shop in Las Catalinas - Conchal - go to Brasilito and then drive across the beach (or walk if you are worried about driving on the beach) and you will find a beautiful beach made up mostly of ground up shells - fairly calm water - Flamingo - just down the street from the condo - bigger waves, for boogie boarding, and the best sunset around - Tamarindo - if you want surfing lessons this is the place to go - a little too busy for our young family, but could see teenagers or older really enjoying it Restaurants: - Coco Loco - down the road along Playa Flamingo - great place for dinner and watching the sunset - Tubla - pizza from in town - delicious. - A lo Nico - good burgers and fries and really friendly staff. Variety of foods - Sol y Mar - great for a Costa Rican dish (casado) Other: - It is a bit of a drive but the big cat rescue center (Centro de Rescate las Pumas) near Canas and Waterfall/Catarata Llanos del Cortes in Bagaces made for a nice trip when we needed a break from the beach. - DON'T take Route 911, it is about 20 km down a bumpy dirt road

Wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay. Place has beautiful views of the Pacific, well furnished and great a/c. It is within a few minutes to Flamingo beach and beds are very comfortable. We are return customers and we will surely go back next year.

Awesome

Condo was beautiful and clean when we arrived and the caretaker agent was easy to find and very helpful. Breathtaking views from every room and an easy walk to Flamingo and Potrero beaches made it even better. We loved having housekeeping during our stay. Pool was also excellent with yet another breathtaking view. We liked being close to the Monkey bar and we ate there often. Off-street parking was perfect and the free laundry room and gym were fantastic and unexpected bonuses!

True to its description

Our family attended a wedding for this visit and we are so glad that we had this place to come home to for relaxation and away from the crowd. We enjoyed using the pool as it was rare to have more than 3-4 guests using it. The condo is clean and well maintained and had basic items that we did not have to buy such as sponge, paper towel, dishwashing liquid, and mini bath soap/shampoo/conditioner. There is a guest book that was very helpful with information from previous guests with recommendations on restaurants, beaches to visit, grocery stores, and tours. We highly recommend Ecotrans tour services located on the small plaza down the street as they are very accommodating and you can negotiate the tour costs especially if you have a group of at least 6 people. The owner, Angela, is very helpful and answers her emails very promptly. She gave us detailed directions to get to the condo. The only drawback for the condo complex is that it is not disabled friendly. Though there is an outdoor elevator, it stops in between floors and you have to use the stairs to go up or down to your condo. The whole condo complex is well maintained and saw staff regularly cleaning the small exercise room , the pool area and the parking area. Overall, we had a great time staying at the condo & highly recommend it.

Nice condo

Nice condo overlooking Potrero Bay. Beautiful full bay view from balcony.Up a steep hill good exercise but rented a golf cart the second week. Took them up on the stock the fridge option. Walking distance to beach and several restaurants. Complimentary maid service once a week. Would stay here again.

Perfect location

The pictures were true to form. The front balcony was perfect for watching the sunrise every morning, and the beach was a short 5 minute walk. The size of the condo was perfect for us (two couples). One minor complaint is that the coffee maker needs to be replaced. It took at least 30 minutes to brew a pot of coffee.

Playa Flamingo is the place to be!

Condo - was very clean, larger than we thought it would be based on the photos and glad that it was able to accommodate our group of 5. The Wifi was nice to have to look up info about the area. Stock the fridge option - we took advantage of this but please note it is very expensive. The property manager informed us the groceries are purchased from the local convenience store at the bottom of the hill. If you use this option only get the bare minimum of supplies for your arrival and get the bulk of your groceries if you have a car and shop at the very large Auto Mercado just outside of Tamarindo. Trips - used Tropical Homes for our zipline tour at Nuevo Colon which was good. Also used them to arrange the day-long trip (3 hours each way)to the Blue River Resort for the very bumpy tubing trip. This was much rougher than we thought it would be, many bruises, but a ton of fun! This trip also included viewing the gardens, butterfly hut, humming birds and use of the sauna, hot springs and mud bath along with lunch also. The Monkey Bar marina across the road has a great 3 hour snorkel trip for $55 per person that we did. We loved that we only had to walk across the street. Rental car was delivered to our condo on our 2nd day which was very convenient. Pay the $10 for the GPS, you will need it. We used Tropical Homes for ground transportation to and from the Liberia airport. This was nice since it was our first trip to Costa Rica and gave us a day to get used to the lay of the land. We paid $85 for each trip for a total of $170 round trip. When we were picked up to go back to the airport, the driver had an invoice for $150 but I had proof of the $85 price from Tropical Homes. Dinner - we had an awesome meal and ambience at the Coco Loco restaurant on the beach at Playa Flamingo. Great mojitos! We traveled over to Sugar Beach Hotel to use the beach and Foders mentioned they will let you in if you have dinner reservations. Initially, the gate keeper would not let us in but we made reservations. We spent the day on the beach and had a superb dinner after wards over looking the ocean and another beautiful sunset! Great food and service and the price for 5 entrees, 5 drinks and 2 orders of guacamole and chips was under $120. Beaches we visited - Playa Flamingo which is a less than 10 minute walk from the condo; Playa Conchal which is a must see, this is where the locals go; Playa Danta; Playa Brasilito; Playa Azucar; Las Catalina; Potrero and Tamarindo.

As advertised; Great place

We stayed for 3 nights and the property was as advertised. Great view, great beach, sleepy town.. We went to the spa in Flamingo Beach Resort (excellent and great value), ate at the Mariners Inn, and went on a private sail charter (arranged by the ever friendly Randall Fields at InfoFlamingo.com). Had no car and so walked everywhere. Can't beat watching the ocean from the baclony.

Beautiful and Quiet Little Town

My friend and I stayed at this condo for a week. The condo itself is very nice and has everything that we needed. It was great to have boogie boards and a cooler available to us to take to the beach. It was also great to have access to Flamingo Beach Resort, like the pool, swim-up bar, and restaurants. The condo is spacious, with two full bathrooms, 1 king bed, 2 queen or full beds, a full kitchen, and a living room, and it has an amazing deck that overlooks the marina. I ate breakfast out there every morning, and it was great! The only reason I am rating this a 4 instead of 5 is because of the town itself, not the condo. It is a very quiet and "sleepy little town" where a lot of places close pretty early, like the shops. There actually aren't very many shops, however, within walking distance. There isn't really a good grocery store within walking distance either. There is a little convenience shop at the bottom of the hill, but the options are limited and expensive. There are a few restaurants in the area, but there isn't really any what I would call nightlife within walking distance. This seems to be more of a place for families with younger children or older people...people who maybe wouldn't want a lot of nightlife. So, it was possible to get through the week without a car, but there were times when it would have been better to have one, so that we could have gotten to a better grocery store and could have gone into other towns, like Tamarindo, without having to worry about taxis. Overall, the area is beautiful and the beach was very clean. It was a pleasant trip.

Great location and wonderful stay!

This condo is centrally located and walking distance to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica, Playa Flamingo. It was nice to have the resort available for a massage and to use the pool bar there. Sunset Heights has its own great pool with an ocean view. The view from the unit is spectacular. It comfortably fit two couples and our teenage son. Checking in and out was easy and the people in charge were very helpful. Great value and a definite recommendation. Thanks for a nice time Angela!

Best of borh worlds

The property has great views and the condo is well equipped. The rental agent and Angela the owner are great to work with. We even took advantage of the 'fill your fridge' option and had them stock our fridge with our list of items for a small fee. They can help you with everything --- just ask. We have been to a lot of beach destinations and we loved staying in Playa Flamingo. Having privileges at a resort while still having our own quiet. It is really the best of both worlds. Pictures of the condo are exactly as it is. There is even a video on YouTube to do a walk through off the condo. Eating breakfast on the balcony overlooking the marina was great. The boogie boards is a nice touch as well. The hill between the condo and the plaza and the beach is enough to work off some calories. I would recommend a car for at least some of your time in Flamingo. It is worth it to see other parts of the area including the volcanos and jungle. The beach at Flamingo is BEAUTIFUL and never crowded. We will be back!

Great Trip

Our trip was great, the condo was exactly what was described and very comfortable. Angela answered every email and was so helpful. The view never got old and the beach was incredibly beautiful. atv/ zipline tour was a blast, don't overlook the mariner inn (affordable and close), and Marie's was a favorite! hotel pool was a good place to relax when i was pried off the beach, pool in complex was nice and quiet also, the locals were friendly and helpful. great time. would definitely return!

Wonderful Stay

My family stayed in the condo for a week and absolutely loved our stay! We have two kids, age 4, and they enjoyed having their own "big beds" to sleep in. We were able to lock the patio door to the balcony and remove the key - to ensure safety. This was a concern of ours before our arrival - so if anyone with kids is considering this condo, know it is safe! The view from the balcony is just gorgeous. Waking up to the sunrise and the birds chirping is just heavenly. We moved the kitchen table to the balcony and ate our breakfast/sometimes dinner al fresco and it was just great. Kitchen had all that you would need to fix drinks, make a meal, etc. Bathrooms were nice a big. Beds were new and so comfortable with nice linens and duvets. Walk to the beach was easy enough - with kids, need to make sure they are looking down so as not to trip on rocks, cracks, etc in the road. Having access to the Flamingo Beach Club is fantastic. You have the choice to do an all-inclusive if you want. $70 per adult, kids free. Plastic lounge chairs -- you have to grab yourself - and can bring to the beach. Umbrellas, we only saw these on the weekend. There is shade, if you get to the beach early enough, under the trees. We set up camp there every day. Close to restaurants, a few shops - overall great location! My only advice for the owner of the property: please include hand towels for the bathrooms. That's it! :) Total Pura Vida!

Why Flamingo Beach? We have visited numerous tropical locations, such as Mexico, Hawaii, Jamaica, Florida Keys, The Bahamas, and Dominican Republic. But, when we came to Costa Rica, we fell in love with the country and the people.

We also love the dry climate. When we come here for vacation, even in the green season, we hardly ever lose any days to rain.

What makes this property unique

You are also within walking distance of a grocery store (less than 1 minute), several smaller beaches, a language school, a beauty salon, several other restaurants and bars, a pharmacy, souvenir shops, a pizza place and tour offices. On site at the condo, there is a lovely pool and gym. The views are spectacular.
