About this property

An unBELIZEable home...Barefoot beachfront luxury!

Casa Layla is a custom built luxury home. It is located beachfront, approximately 5.5 miles north of San Pedro town on Ambergris Caye in the exclusive Playa Blanca neighborhood. The main house includes three bedrooms as well as 2.5 baths and there is also a suite, which is the fourth bedroom, and includes a full bath. All main house bedrooms have their own private balcony with amazing views. The main house as well as the suite are included in your rental of Casa Layla. The suite is located on the living level of the house and has its own entrance just off the kitchen and the other three bedrooms are located on the second floor of the home.

The property includes a 300 foot dock with chaise lounge seating, an outdoor kitchen, and an infinity pool complete with a swim-up bar. There is also ample outdoor seating for dining and lounging. The kitchen has all of the tools you will need to prepare a great meal and opens up into a large dining room and living area complete with a wet bar.

For those guests who don't want to cook on vacation and who would like to try some amazing meals, we encourage you to try Chef Dan’s catering/delivery services. Chef Dan is located in the neighborhood and cooks family style, delicious local food. Chef Maria and her crew offer in home cooking services. We will provide you her menu upon booking. Please reserve your dates/times for Maria with ample notice. Meals are served family style.

Casa Layla is a short walk down the beach from some GREAT dining options including Portofino to the north and Sun Deck, Mata Chica, and Tropical Escape to the south. Additionally, Winey Gringa is a great little grocery/coffee shop just south on the road. They have coffee, pastries, pizzas (to take and bake) and a few other prepared items. Look out for Jose, the burrito and tamale guy! He rides his bike up the beach each morning and has great breakfast options!

Our caretaker lives on site and takes care of property maintenance and landscaping.

Our team is here to ensure that your stay is one for the record books!

Rate is for up to 8 guests. Each guest over 8 and up to 14 will be an additional $50 per night per person charge plus tax. (Each guest bedroom has a bunk bed in addition to the king, queen, or double bed, perfect for kids!)

Your rental will include use of the kayaks and bikes.

Upon arrival to the island, we will provide your transfer to the house and back to San Pedro for your departure.

The owners have taken great care to ensure that Casa Layla has all of the comforts of home in the beautiful surroundings of Ambergris Caye. We look forward to hosting you at Casa Layla.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Layla with 14 of us. Brittany, Kelin and team were so easy to communicate with and had everything we needed covered.Roberto from action was the man! The dive and fishing trips were amazing. Mr Luis, the caretaker was very helpful anytime we needed him. The team took care of everything from stocking the house with groceries and beer to having our rental golf carts ready to go.

Everything was Terrific

This was our 17th trip to BZ and second time to bring our kids and two grands. Casa Layla is an outstanding home tailor made for a family to have the best vacation. The beautiful infinity edge pool and pool deck were a central part of our stay. The home is equipped with everything you might need plus Daniel keeps everything in great shape.

The perfect family vacation

This house was perfect for our family vacation. Great layout and we loved the location. The best part was Tatiana who cooked for us while we were there. Everything she made was amazing. Brittany the host was also incredible. Always got right back to us with any questions we had and went to the trouble to have a pack and play for our 20 month old granddaughter.

Epic Belize Stay

We had an amazing stay at Casa Layla. The communication prior and during the trip was exceptional. The house was clean, the pool perfect and the dock/palapa was one of our highlights. The house was located close to many small restaurants and bars, but we also had many amazing meals at the house in the fully equipped kitchen. We would recommend the property and we hope to come back for another EPIC vacation.

Beautiful casa great for large group!

The home was about 40 minutes golf cart ride to San Pedro so tucked away, private, and quiet but within minutes to many restaurants and bars. It was beautiful and the outdoor areas were perfect for us hanging out. While luxurious, you do need to bring your own essentials like shampoo, conditioner. And for the price, it would be nice they had a basic pantry with sugar, coffee, tea since it’s quite a ride to town. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. We even hired their chefs to cook for us so overall, we loved it!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful week long stay at Casa Layla with my family (ages 9-75). It is the one of the nicest houses on the island (in my opinion, the nicest). Pool is beautiful, and the whole property is kept nicely maintained. Tatiana cooked breakfast and dinner everyday. She is a wonderful cook and pastry chef. She was truly the highlight of our stay. Thanks for the memories.

AMAZING!!!

We had the best time. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Roberto’s snorkel trip to the reef and shark alley was unbelievable and quite a memory. Helens cooking was amazing. Truly unBELIZEable!

Our week stay at Casa Layla was amazing! Highlights included an extraordinarily responsive host, Chef Tatiana who cooked all dinners except one, massages on the pier, and the infinity pool with an ocean view! While we arranged for 2 golf carts for exploration, we could have easily stayed on property without ever leaving, except for our day-long charter boat excursion! (We never turned the TV on!)

Beautiful home!

This is a beautiful property with a great property manager and amazing staff. Hellen was our favorite and so nice and helpful. All communication was responded promptly. I wish we had another week to chill and enjoy the house and all its amenities. There is plenty of space. Close enough to the city and just far enough to have peace and tranquility. You can use golf carts to get around. I would recommend this lovely vacation home to anyone!

Great stay!

We had a great stay at this property. Brittany the property manager was so helpful with everything requested. Tatiana and her family are beautiful people and Tatiana’s food is some of the best we have ever eaten. The house is as pictured however, I would say the pictures don’t do it justice it’s much better in person. This is one of the easiest and most relaxing vacations I have ever had with my family thanks to Tatiana. The home is a reasonable distance to Secret Beach and about 35 mins to town. Get massages with Juanita on your first day- you won’t regret it! We look forward to staying here again and we are grateful for the opportunity to stay in this home, for the help of Brittany and for the love and care of Tatiana.

Gorgeous property, lovely experience

Casa Layla is one of the most beautiful homes we’ve ever rented. We visited with 4 adults and 6 children ages 6-12 and had the best week exploring Ambergris Caye. The home is incredibly spacious and the kitchen is very well-appointed. Our party if 10 had plenty of space to spread out and find moments of quiet. Its location is excellent. A golf cart is a must to get around the island but navigation is easy and it’s worth exploring the island. The beach and dock at the house are perfection, plenty of space to play and the listing pictures don’t do the pool justice. It was big enough for 6 kids to play outside for HOURS! Just a few docks over is a dive shop that offers snorkeling, fishing, scuba, etc and the guys there were so knowledgeable and friendly. If you’re up for an adventure, cave tubing was a bit of a trek, but well worth it. The property manager responded quickly to our questions and was a pleasure to work with. Overall, we couldn’t have had more fun at our time at Casa Layla and would recommend it to anyone planning to visit Belize!

Everything about this vacation was fantastic!!! Brittney was a wonderful host. From booking the house to planning our excursions...she made everything so easy and hooked us with some great people. Hellen and Daniel took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. If you go, definitely get Hellen to cook... EVERY dish was amazing! Not only did she feed us, but hooked us up with groceries, beer, golf carts and COVID testing at the house. Roberto, Chocolate, Jason and Angel were amazing guides on our fishing, snorkeling, cave tubing and ziplining adventures. We had massages on the pier, and it may possibly be the best massage I've had in a long time. The house, well, the pictures don't even do it justice...its beautiful, clean, well maintained and has anything and everything you could ever need. If you are on the fence, just book it, you won't regret it. I'm already wanting to plan a trip back!!!

You Gotta Belize!

The moment we stepped from the boat to the dock, we were amazed at how beautiful Casa Layla was. I did not see a more appealing property from our water-taxi ride from the airport to the property. It was five star from the beginning. Service was stellar from Brittany, to Roberto, Roberto Jr. Daniel, Erica, and Reggae. I have not encountered more friendly and helpful people on any previous VRBO stay. I absolutely recommend this property to anyone considering a vacation to Ambergris Caye. This was a multi-generational family trip accounting for eight total people. Casa Layla was large enough and accommodating enough to come together for family fellowship, and also to get away when needed. The pool was the highlight of our stay. We spent hours each day swimming and enjoying the beautiful scenery from the infinity edge. Truly remarkable! Another area we spent plenty of time in was the kitchen. Everything we needed was available and at our fingertips. We had plenty of great meals prepared in this amazing area and shared highlights of our adventures from the day. Each day, we enjoyed our morning beverages from the pool area or the amazing palapa at the end of the private dock. Watching the early sunrise from these areas, I can’t say it gets much better than this. We were all a little melancholy as we pulled away from the dock our last day, knowing we were leaving a little of ourselves behind. Thank you, Casa Layla, for memories that will last a lifetime!

Amazing ocean views

This home is exactly as described and pictured. The beachfront is beautiful and you can actually use it. The caretaker clears the weeds from the beachfront so you can enjoy your own beach. There is a beautiful pier with palapa and you can swim in the shallow waters off the dock. The pool is a great size and we loved the pool shelf with the chairs in the water. There are so many different places to sit and lounge around the pool. Plus the views from the pool and outdoor area are breathtaking. Kitchen has everything you need and we enjoyed a great meal from Helen. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor bar areas. The house is very spacious. The rooms had comfortable beds and linens. The only downside to the bedrooms is that two of the bedrooms in the home share a bathroom. Also the “mother-in-law suite has only a full bed. We liked the location of the home being on the quieter north side. There are great restaurants close, but it does take time to get to town.

Friend/Business Partners Getaway

Casa Layla was the perfect choice for our 3 couple, quiet beach getaway! Brittany the host was amazing and great to answer all questions leading up to our trip and during if needed. They arranged airport pickup, scheduled our fishing trip which picked us up right at the property dock, and scheduled massages at the house. Titiana was great and did all our shopping and 95% of our cooking on site. We went out to eat one night and agreed with other reviewers that her cooking was better than anything we had at a restaurant. Daniel kept the beach and grounds picked up and in top shape all week. We walked the beach and were reminded how clean and neat our beach was compared to the neighboring ones. We were all making plans to bring our families back to Casa Layla as soon as we can while we sat around the pool enjoying the quiet! There was plenty of space for all of us and didn’t even use half the rooms or Sitting areas. It was well stocked and had absolutely everything we needed. Belize was beautiful as was the property! There were two spotted eagle rays that hung out around the dock and were so cool to watch.

Mansion Extraordinaire!

My husband and I were thrilled to stay at Casa Layla with our adult children and their families, including 5 grandchildren aged 8-17. The very spacious house was perfect for our 51st Anniversary celebration. All 12 of us easily fit around the dining room table. Brittany was the BEST at promptly answering all of my questions before and during our stay. Daniel kept the property and pool meticulously kept, including raking the beach and washing the windows daily. HUGE KUDOS goes to Hellen who truly made this the easiest possible vacation for us by cheerfully doing many loads of laundry for us and kept us well supplied with clean bath and beach/pool towels. Hellen would literally do anything we asked of her. We sent her a grocery list of breakfast food items we wanted and everything was purchased and stocked when we got there. We were usually out much of each day on local tours, including snorkeling, fishing, hiking in the jungle and feeding Howler Monkeys, visiting Mayan Ruins, cave tubing, beach hopping, and so much more. When we came back to the house, we relaxed in the nice sized infinity pool and Hellen had our pre-ordered appetizers and a delicious dinner meal fully prepared and ready to eat when we wanted it. We only ate dinner in a restaurant once, because we quickly realized that Hellen's home-cooked meals were far superior to restaurant meals. We agreed with many who signed the Guest Book, that we wanted to take Hellen home with us! We highly recommend Casa Layla!

Absolutely fantastic experience! Five stars!

Our group of four couples just returned from a week at Casa Layla- what a wonderful, relaxing retreat! The home itself is very spacious with great views, especially from the third floor deck. The pool deck and pool itself were great; the waterfront isn't really swim-able, but that was not the draw. Brittany was a great host, responding quickly to texts and emails and setting up many of the elements that made the trip so good. Get golf carts through her if staying more than a couple days. She arranged our boat transportation to/from the airport- much nicer than the very bumpy main road! We can't say enough good things about Helen, who was our daily face-to-face person at Casa Layla. She prepared amazing meals- from traditional Belizean stew to a lobster tail feast. Definitely ask her to make her from-scratch tortillas! Daniel kept the property in top shape- we had some very high winds and he cleaned sand away and made sure the windows were clear and pool deck clean. Buy booze at the Belize City airport duty free shops- it is 3x cheaper there. The two small airlines to Ambergris Caye (Tropic and Maya) are clearly used to shipping it. Brittany arranged a snorkeling/boat trip that departed from the house pier- what amazing excursion! We swam with sea turtles, sharks, rays and many others, then went to Caye Cauker for lunch and to feed the Tarpons. Definitely put that on the list. The massages were great as well. Casa Layla - Great place to stay - Highly recommended

The entire experience with our stay at Casa Layla for the week was exceptional. The staff (Tatiana and Daniel) were tremendous. From having our transport from the airport to the house and back all taken care of...to making recommendations for activities on the island we could not have been any happier. Tatiana was a fabulous hostess. She cooked some amazing meals and was so very pleasant to work with throughout our entire stay. She was a blessing to us throughout the week, she was easy to work with, and very accommodating. The house was also fantastic. The location is ideal for some solitude but also close enough to secret beach and San Pedro by golf cart to do additional activities. We loved the pool, the swim up bar, the comfortable furniture poolside. The dock was also fantastic...and great to fish off of (Red Snapper!!!). The rooms were good size, clean, and the beds were comfortable. The large open floor plan and HUGE kitchen opening into the downstairs family room was quite a popular hangout for our group of 7. We were able to cook when we needed and coordinate our meals with Tatiana who made some great recommendations for food when we ventured out. Tatiana recommended Caribbean Adventures for a fantastic day on a large sailboat with snorkeling, drinks, lunch, etc. This is a MUST do (Hol Chan, Shark Ray Alley, etc). Caribbean Adventures also provided a multi-hour trip to snorkel at Mexico Rocks where we saw some fantastic sights (with pick up and drop off from our dock). I definitely recommend Casa Layla and would not hesitate to stay there again. We have vacationed in a number of islands around the Caribbean and found this to be the best place so far. I can't say enough of how impressed we are by the entire experience.

College Roommate Trip

One of our friends lives part-time in Belize and has been asking us to come down. We found Casa Layla and were impressed with the amenities and property as a whole. It did not disappoint. Brittany, the property manager, was so very responsive and checked in with us a few times throughout the week. The pool was phenomenal. The dock and palapa were perfect! We had Brittany make massage appointments for us and Juanita and her sister Claudia were amazing! It was perfect laying over the water and having a one-hour massage. We also had Tatiana, the chef and housekeeper make us a few meals. She is simply fantastic! We had plenty of food for left overs and dressing up our breakfasts. We highly recommend leveraging her! You won’t be disappointed. We do recommend placing a grocery order ahead of time with Brittany who will get it to Tatiana. We also asked Tatiana to get a few things (including more vodka and wine 😊) mid-week, and she was great. It is about 5.5 miles from the Tropic Air airport (you’ll take a small plane from Belize City to San Pedro) to Casa Layla. Brittany arranged a car for us and our luggage upon arrival. We did rent a golf cart (which is the main mode of transportation we noticed on the island). It is not a quick ride as the roads are very bumpy and narrow at times. You can’t go fast…although the locals do. Daniel kept the pool and beach spotless and helped us with our luggage. He was great! Again, Tatiana was phenomenal and is a gem! You’ll love this property!
