This property in Carrabelle is classic Florida with modern amenities. We truly enjoyed our stay and the sound of the waves hitting the beach! Relax, enjoy, come again!
Great location, beach was great, good surf fishing
We had a great time, only thing I could possibly say that could be better was maybe some newer mattress needed. Little to firm for my taste. Everything else was great
This property was spacious beautifully cared for & clean. The path to the beach behind the house was easy to walk reaching the beach in minutes. The was never busy which was great & we saw dolphins every day. The backyard was fenced. As a pet owner it was wonderful. If you looking for a beach vacation that isn’t wall to wall tourists but still within an easy drive to St. George Island, Appalachicola & much more this is the place for you.

The property was a very nice property and any concerns we had were promptly addressed however it wasn"t very clean. One bedroom had a sock under the bed another had an empty condom wrapper and the master had a big hair/dustball on the floor. Location to the beach was wonderful. The mosquitos were definitely on steroids and after buying a 3rd type of spray finally kept them at bay to be able to be outside in the evening. Definitely not a bad property but needs some more attention to detail on the cleaning and maybe let guests know to bring some powerful bug spray.
Perfect home & location for what we were looking for! This is a classic one-story beach home at ground level with a great beach only a few steps away. Fenced in backyard was perfect for our fur baby. A very welcoming and safe place for your dogs. The private path to the beach made it so simple to enjoy the water.(Bring your beach towels.) We set on the deck every evening and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. This is our first staying at Footprints and I would stay again!!
The basics are covered with this home - most everything you want in a kitchen, there is no toaster so we toasted bread in the oven. We took advantage of the fresh seafood markets and cooked our meals every night .There is a supermarket near by too.
If you enjoy the peace & quiet rather than commercial & congested you will love this small town! You won't be disappointed in renting this home
Perfect home & location for me, my daughters & my fiancé! Fenced in backyard & private path to the beach were the toppers for us. If you enjoy the peace & quiet rather than commercial & congested you will love this small town!
We've been coming to the area for 12 years and Footprints is our favorite hose. We love the layout and the location. We consider it our home away from home.
This is our second year staying at Footprints, and once again we had a wonderful time in Carrabelle. This is a classic one-story beach home at ground level with a great beach only a few steps away. It had more than enough room for our party of six, and our two dogs loved the fenced-in yard and going for walks along the beach. A very welcoming place for dogs.
The basics are covered with this rental - most everything you want in a kitchen (no bottle opener so bring your own, and we toasted bread in the oven), towels and soap for bathrooms (but bring your own beach towels), a washing machine and dryer (the washing machine did not drain well). So Footprints has its quirks. Yet it is in a lovely spot, with a supermarket close by, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets, a charcoal grill and a firepit steps from the house, beach toys, and more.
It is a beach house: clean, spacious and pretty basic. It could use a bit of love (often visitors are careless) but we totally enjoyed the location and ease of getting to the beach.
The house was fabulous The area didn’t have a lot to do. House could use some new pots n pans. I bought and left some refrig containers. Great fenced in yard.
This is my second time staying. The house is such a great treasure. The home is warming and inviting. The property is more so! Local seafood from the market is mouthwatering.
We have spent the past two Fall Breaks at Footprints. There are five adults and three children in our group ranging from three to seventy-five. We love the large living space, the outdoor shower, and the easy walk to the beach. There is plenty of room to spread out and give the children room to run and play and some of the grown ups room to fish while others enjoy the water or sunbathing. My only negative comment (please keep in mind this did not keep us from returning a 2nd time) is the sleeping arrangements. The house is advertised to sleep ten. Two people would need to sleep on a couch and love seat in order to do this. I would suggest moving the bunk room to the sun room area where the day bed is and putting a large bed in the bunk room so that there is more adult sleeping.
There are limited dining choices in the area (Fathoms is our favorite) but we come for the beach not to dine out.
If you are looking for a relaxing time at the beach with your family, I definitly recommend Footprints.
Pros: Stupendous view of the gulf from windows all across the back of the house. The house was sparkling clean. Gorgeous deck and private backyard including a fenced yard leading to the beach. Perfect place to bring a dog who can't manage many steps. Loved the open layout of the house, lots of comfortable seating and natural light. Really cute decorating.
There were a few quirks though: There is a screened porch but the screens were torn. We might have used it anyway but the french doors leading from the main room were locked and after inquiring were told there was no key to those doors. The only way into the screened porch was thru the master bedroom or from the deck outside.
There have been a few reviews that mentioned the washer leaves clothing soaking wet and this is still a problem.
We would definitely stay there again but not if we had to use the beds in the bedrooms other than the master and not in the summer. My son and his wife stayed in the second king room for a couple of nights and while the room is lovely, the mattress is hard and uncomfortable similar to the mattresses in the bunkbed and twin bed in the 3rd bedroom.
Also, the thermostat for the air conditioner is locked and you cannot set it below 73 degrees. Which was fine during the day but was too warm for sleeping at night particularly if you want to close the bedroom door. The bedrooms don't cool quite as well as the main part of the house.
We loved the view and open spaciousness of the house, walks on the beach, easy access to drag our kayaks and fishing equipment down to the water. We had great meals from the Fisherman's Wife in Carrabelle .The grocery store is pretty good for a small town. Carrabelle is a really lovely fishing village with a marina of amazing boats of all sizes. It is located at the mouth of the beautiful Carrabelle River. But if you are looking for gift shops and lots of restaurants this is not the kind of town it is. You can find that 20 minutes away in Apalachicola .
The property was as expected. Only complaint would be the cleanliness of the showers. Had to clean them before showering but overall the say was great.
This house was perfect for our family (3 kids under 7 and dog). Plenty of beds and rooms for personal space for everyone. The city was very quiet and the beach was never too crowded. The property was near the public beach, so afternoons had more people but never on top of each other. Mornings and evenings were great for the dog on the beach. We saw dolphins almost everyday, along with starfish, hermit crabs and lots of other wildlife! Fishing looked great right on the coast, but we didn't give it a try. Some kitchen supplies were a little lacking, but there was at least one of evening we needed. Everything else seemed to be as advertised!
The house was very clean and convenient to town. The back yard was perfect for our two small dogs, it is completely fenced in. Covered area fit our jeep and allowed us to leave top off the whole week. The bottles along the top of the cabinets have notes and signatures of past guest. I loved this! It is such a cool idea. The walk to the beach was short and sweet, which was wonderful.
When you look out from the porch over the ample backyard to the beach, the islands, and the Gulf of Mexico, it is magical. The large fenced backyard was great for our dogs, and we so enjoyed walks along the beautiful beach. We even saw dolphins fishing very close to shore.
The house slept our family of seven quite well, and the main living space was a great space for us to interact as a family, whether playing board games, watching TV, or just talking.
The bbq grill is similar to the ones you find in campgrounds or state parks, so bring some charcoal. A bit small but it worked for our family. The kitchen is also quite serviceable, though maybe a bit short in terms of some cooking utensils, plates, and cutlery for a family our size. But we made do and had some delicious meals. Also, the house is very convenient to Carrabelle and its excellent IGA supermarket, so that definitely helped us with making great meals.
As the instructions say, bring your own beach towels. Otherwise the house has pretty much everything you need for a wonderful stay on the beach.
This is a great place for a family beach vacation. Truly on the water for an amazing price. They advertise that ten people may stay and that is very generous as the place is large, but there are only really beds for 8 people so plan on air mattresses or sofas for 2. There was no hair dryer so be sure to bring your own if you need one. There IS a fire pit and outdoor chairs and lots of room for playing in the fenced backyard. We would love to go and stay again!
