Plantation Hale is located in the heart of Kappa on Kauai’s Coconut Coast (East side). It is built in a Coconut Grove of mature trees and done in plantation/island style. It is walking distance to beaches, restaurants , shopping, etc. It is only 15 minutes north of the Lihue airport. This location allows you to drive to Hanalei ( north) in 30 minutes and also to Poipu ( south) in 30 minutes. If you prefer not to rent a car, stores are within walking distance and the bus stops in front.
Our Suite C15 is renovated second floor unit that overviews the pool and garden. The one bedroom houses 2 double beds with ceiling fan and A/C. While the living room has Flat Screen TV, DVD player, ceiling fan and A/C, I also has a full size floor mattress that store in the bedroom closet, the unit can sleep 4 people comfortably. All high quality necessary linens included. Full kitchen with all appliances, equipped with all kitchen tools needed to prep for a great family meal. There are laundry facilities in each building.
This hotel features 3 outdoor pools with hot tubs. Shuffleboard is available at Hale Suites Plantation. BBQ facilities are on site. Reservations for water sports and activities can be arranged at the front desk.
Within easy reach of the beach, Plantation Hale Suites is in Kapaa (Wailua), close to Smith Family Garden Luau, Lydgate Beach Park, and Sleeping Giant Trailhead. Also nearby are Town Park and Opaekaa Falls Overlook.

What a perfect Hawaiian stay! The hale was fabulous and it had everything we needed! Couldn’t have asked for a more convenient spot. I hope we have a chance to stay again in the future! Mahalo nui loa for EVERYTHING!

No issues with the property at all. The location is very convenient. The Coconut Marketplace had a farmer’s market two days a week. We got all our fruits and vegetables there. You can get good quick meals at the Island Market (ABC Store).

The unit was not completely remodeled. I saw new floors in the living area and bedroom. Look like the doors were peeling and cracking. The furniture was pretty beat up. The oven was dirty, and there was dirty foil on the stove. I cleaned a years worth of dust off the bedroom exhaust fan. The bedroom ceiling is very dusty. And we found cockroaches on 4 to 5 days. We had one set of bathroom towels, and one set of kitchen towels for 12 days, I don’t know what the plan was, but we called and did get some more.
The owner's instructions assume you know all about these types of front door locks and all you need is the code! However, we had to struggle to get into the condo EVERY SINGLE TIME we had to use the front door!@! We NEVER got it the first time and only once on the second attempt. We took careful note of what worked the last time but never ever did the last time work the next time. No one told us we had to click the lower right red X to lock the door - so the first 36 hours the door was constantly unlocked. We are retired but not senile - unlocking the front door should not be a major challenge every single time every single day! If you enjoy puzzles this condo's front door lock is for you. Otherwise only frustration on a daily basis. The TV guide lists hundreds of shows but only about a dozen can you watch without getting an error message. But even if you get an error message the channel might work later - just never know. Lastly the bed furthest from the door was terrible - more comfortable sleeping on the floor. But the location is ideal for the Plantation Hale resort - just can not recommend this condo. Kitchen was adequate for breakfast, nice shower plenty of hot water, extra hangers in closet and enjoyed the two beach towels.

On the verge of yucky and blah
The apartment is sad. Sad lightening, sad, furniture, sad air conditioning, sad location.
Long balcony..everything we needed in the kitchen..extra beach chairs in the cupboard. 3 single women..2 bathrooms would have been nice..but you are barely there. Beds were apparently new..but quite soft..but too tired to bother us! The pool was close..ABC store half a block away. Pricey but convenient. Attached to multiple other stores..good quality stuff! Rental car priced killed us..but so glad to travel!
This place is perfect for a couple or small group that wants to have a convenient location to everything on the island. Just a few minutes drive to grocery stores and a few minutes down the road from Kapa'a for shopping, food and bars. It's a 30-40 drive to the Northside of the island, a 30-minute drive to the Southside and about an hour to the Westside. The unit was nice and clean, had a great little kitchen and had access to pool in the complex. Would definitely consider staying here again!

If you are looking for a basic/budget friendly vacation rental, this place works well.
Pros: The location lends easy access to the North and South sides of the island. Coconut Market is right across the parking lot and convenient for snacks, souvenirs, coffee. Safeway is right up the road for groceries. The kids loved the pool. The registration staff was friendly. The double beds were comfortable. There was snorkel gear and beach chairs available to use, which was great.
Cons: The bathroom had a permanent stench noticeable right away. Upon investigating, I found what appeared to be water damage/rot out in the wall behind the base of the toilet. The grounds crew sprayed for bugs the last part of our stay in other units. After they sprayed, we had a couple cockroaches in the bathroom that may have come in through the area behind the toilet. That being said, I don’t think this is specific to the unit. Our friends who live on the island said the cockroaches were really bad this year. We only saw the two and we were there 8 nights. There was a vacuum, but a broom and dust pan would have been great for quick clean up.
Conclusion: I would stay there again for the price point. It was a comfortable place to stay with a great pool area and a convenient location. I’ve found that that’s all you really need on Kauai, as most of the time you are out exploring and enjoying the island.
Nice, clean, quiet apartment centrally located on Kaua’i’s East Coast. Short drive to beaches and playgrounds. Very family friendly location. The apartment was well stocked for self-catering (dishes, etc.) and we found beach supplies that kept us comfortable and our little guy entertained (lots of sandcastles were built). I would stay here again.

The area is somewhat run down but clean. But why we would not rent again is you are about 40 yards off the busiest road in the area and must use a old model air conditioner to sleep. The road noise is continuous.
Our family had the perfect vacation on Kauai. The condo’s location was very central for us as we wanted to explore all of the island. After each busy day, it was nice to relax in the pool and hottub.
The location of the condo is perfect for a family. It is near the Coconut Market place and you can go to the south or the north side of the island in about 1 hour. You will find all the stuff you need to go to the beach (chairs, boogie boards, towels, snorkeling gear, cooler). The pool was perfect for my kids.

Hier wurde an viele Dinge gedacht (Strandutensilien etc.) und die Küche war kpl. ausgestattet. Super. Nur das Schlafsofa im Wohnzimmer darf sich so nicht nennen. Die Matratze war ultradünn und ausgelegen, man spürte jede Spirale, schade.

We were already mesmerized by Kauai’s natural beauty, its friendly people, the rich culture, and the great climate. Plantation Hale left an indelible impression on us! We came back to Kauai for our daughter's high school graduation in 2014 and stayed at the Plantation Hale again, and decided to make it a permanent part of our lives. Kauai is very special to us since our first visit in 2006. The Plantation Hale has become an important place for us, and we look forward to spending time here with family and friends. What makes this property unique
While our condo is not located directly on the beach, its rental rates reflect that fact. However, its location, an easy 5 minute walk to the beach, offers many amenities nearby. It's a short walk to restaurants, shops, stores like Safeway, Foodland, Longs Drugs , and hiking trails. A swimming pool and BBQ area are directly next to the building. We love the Coconut Coast and Kapaa in general, because of its central location on Kauai. It is so easy to get where you want to go, and Kapaa has so much to offer!
