We absolutely loved our stay here. We didn't want to leave. It is such a beautiful cottage and such a convenient location for daily outings. A few things we would recommend would be to supply recycling sorting bins (small ones) in the kitchen. We would also have enjoyed some throw blankets. Also, all the knives were quite dull, so take your own. But the cookware was excellent quality and the range is amazing.
The home is very nice; Spacious, clean and comfortable. The sun room was really a highlight for us as it was warm place to spend time during a rather cool week of weather. The kitchen was excellent and had everything needed for preparing your own meals. We enjoyed the easy access and being able to walk to the many different trails in the surrounding area. However, we were quite surprised and disappointed that we couldn’t control the thermostat. (It was controlled remotely by the owner who decided what temperature was ‘comfortable’). We travel extensively and understand how expensive heat can be in certain parts of the world, but we would prefer to be charged for using extra heat than to be uncomfortable. Asking permission to change the temperature is not hospitable nor should it be necessary. One other item to note: the windows do not include block out shades. Thankfully, we travel with eye masks and would highly recommend them for your stay.
Beautiful views, lovely cosy and clean home. Amazing that you get access to a personal log store!! The only slight downside for is was the wifi listed wasn't available even when we tried a manual connection to it, so we had connected the tv to our own hotspot. Also the hot water wasn't warm enough to run a full bath (my partner has back issues so that was the only need for the bath) but shower was lovely with great pressure too.We did contact Polly, the house manager (who was great) just to query the heating timing for upstairs as it wouldnt be as warm due to the thermostat being located in the livingroom where the fire keeps the temperature in that room much warmer. But the heating will come on throughout the house when the livingroom temperature drops.Overall, we loved staying here and would definitely recommend.
Loved staying here. It was the perfect ending to the day after venturing out to several different locations.Beautiful scenery and plenty of peace and quiet. If you are planning on staying near Inverness, I would highly recommend this place!
The property is spacious and beautiful. The views are spectacular. The location is perfect for exploring the area and close enough to town in both directions to give you options for wating, shopping, and getting out. Local trails come near to the street the house is on making it easy to explore. We loved our stay.
The house was fantastic; we really enjoyed staying here. It was great to light a fire and play card games in the living room while it was freezing cold and snowing outside. The view was awesome. We had a little trouble finding the place in the dark, with signs covered in snow. Maps sent us a couple houses down, but it was a fantastic place to stay.
We loved all the different gathering spaces the house had to offer. The rooms were cozy. The sunroom was amazing and the views were stunning. Definitely would recommend.
We absolutely loved our week at Mor Carraig! We came to Scotland on holiday and this was the perfect home base for our adventures. The view was so lovely from the conservatory. We spent a lot of time in there, playing card games, sharing meals. The property managers were a pleasure to communicate with. The kitchen was well appointed. We would happily return anytime. Make sure to check out the trails just up the road. Dores Beach was stunning and would be a great spot for having lunch al fresco.
Beautiful period detached cottage in a peaceful location off the beaten trail. Warm and cosy, but spacious, with an open fire in the wood panelled living room. Beautiful 😍
