We were in Scotland with my young children and parents for 12 nights, and our 4 nights at the Old Police House were by far the most enjoyable. It is beautiful, comfortable and in a great location. We would definitely stay here again.
The property complimented the Highland scenery and was located in a great spot for sight seeing and relaxation. The house has everything a guest could want and the host was very responsive and friendly. The "Old Police House" was a fabulous choice for a family and we would love to come back.
Beautiful, spacious, clean, and wonderful location for our time in Inverness. Susan was the best host yet! She had great suggestions for meals and places to visit. Would definitely recommend!!
The home is well cared for and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything we needed. It's beautiful! A few portable fans would be nice for the bedrooms.
Check in was very easy. The kitchen was great it had everything we needed to cook meals when we eat in. Nice and clean and very beautiful decor. Outside area was very nice as well. Just outside the city so you could get to Inverness but a nice quite country home.
Exceptional!!!!!!! If I could I would give this place 100 stars! Best vacation home we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot! I want to go back! Every detail of this house was given so much thought! Clean, enough hot water for us, like new furniture, the beds were so comfortable, new everything! Our host was so great and so helpful! This home was lovely and cozy and comfortable we didn’t want to leave! In such a lovely area!
We loved the Old Police House. Beautifully redone by the lovely landlord, Susan, who was helpful and friendly. Perfect location for visiting Inverness and the surrounding area!
This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 6- 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 kids. It’s charming and cozy and the perfect home base for adventures in the highlands. One member of our group fell at a restaurant and spent the rest of our stay in a wheelchair. The house is very accessible and Susan was incredibly accommodating and responsive. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Cottage is spacious, immaculately clean, and a great spot for us to explore Cairngorms & beyond. Well appointed. 3 bedrooms all king size beds. kitchen has all the tools. Susan is a terrific host.
Our stay at the "Old Police House" was fantastic! The home was very comfortable and the kitchen was wonderful to cook meals in. The location was also great - nice and quiet, but close to so many things for sightseeing around Inverness. Communication and coordination leading up to the rental was also very smooth and easy. We didn't want to leave and definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable home base from which to explore the area.
The house was great! Susan was super accomodating and available. If we ever find ourselves back to Inverness, we would absolutely stay at the "Old Police House" again!
Everything was perfect! Great jumping off point for so many places of interest. The house is very comfortable and can easily accommodate three couples or a very large family.
Susan, our host, has given a lot of thought about comfort for her guests. She is amazing, and helped us after we were in a car accident. The home is tastefully appointed and in a serene location near Inverness. I would highly recommend staying here. I particularly liked the first floor walk-in shower, and having a working washer and dryer was very nice.helpful.

About the host
Hosted by Susan
I moved to Daviot in 2006 and had a family, the boys are now 13,13,15 Living next door to the Old Police House and watching it decay and ruin we decided to save the property and bought it...Then started to renovate the house, with a holiday cottage in mind...we had a good team of builders, stonemason's and joiners. The project took 18 month to complete and is now an amazing home.
Why they chose this property
The Old Police House was in a state of Disrepair and living next door It was the prime opportunity to do something with it and turn it in to a holiday cottage.
What makes this property unique
The History of the house was fascinating as it started around 1880 as a local grocers shop then around 1945 it was auctioned to the police where the local Bobby stayed and looked after Daviot and Strathnairn. It was then used by a local housing association and was not looked after very well...Then we transformed it to how it is today.
