THE LOCATION: Come enjoy Pickwick as you did when you were a kid with your own mini-state park. Yellow Creek Lodge is located .5 mile by water from Aqua Yacht Marina and .5 mile by water from the boat ramp beside Sportsman’s One-Stop. Grand Harbor Marina is approximately 1 mile by water from Yellow Creek Lodge. By road, it is 1.4 miles or less to groceries, gas, boat ramps and restaurants. Very convenient for all your lake-needs.

THE CABIN: The interior of Yellow Creek Lodge is all one level which is helpful for toddlers and tired knees. Parts of Yellow Creek Lodge were originally built in the 50’s with some bedrooms having 7’ ceilings. Five bedrooms and four full bathrooms. Pickwick charm is found in the great room with a 13’ vaulted ceiling and knotty pine walls. A stone fireplace sits between oversized windows that allow a large amount of light into the room. The great room also has a pool table, comfortable seating for 10+, and a 50” HDTV with YouTubeTV and HDMI input. A second, separate living area is open to the kitchen and also has oversized windows for viewing the treetops, grill house, boathouse, and wildlife. This hearth room includes a stone fireplace, seating for 14+ and a 48” HDTV with YouTubeTV, HDMI input, and sound system. Bring your own content for the TV’s or watch YouTube TV (provided).

Yellow Creek Lodge is more cabin than castle. We have maintained the Pickwick charm with modern conveniences. The kitchen was completely renovated in April 2020 and has custom cabinetry with under-counter lighting. Lots of counter space. Two full-size ovens. Gas range. Mini fridge. Large refrigerator with icemaker. Coffee grinder, Keurig, and one regular coffee maker. Hot water is supplied to the entire cabin by tankless water heaters ensuring no matter how long the person before you takes in the shower, everyone will have hot water. Both TVs are HD, flat screen, and have HDMI inputs. The unlimited wifi is fast enough to allow you to stream your own content. The clothes washing machine and dryer are located in the basement.


BEDROOM and BATHROOM CONFIGURATION: Five bedrooms and four full bathrooms. Three bedrooms have a king size bed with just enough room to set up a small portable crib alongside the bed. Each of the three king bedrooms has a full ensuite bath, including tub. The other two bedrooms have two double beds each, for a total of four double beds. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower. Neither of the living area couches folds out.

BOATHOUSE: Full use of the boathouse is included with your rental of Yellow Creek Lodge.

THE PROPERTY: This property maintains the Pickwick charm of yesteryear while offering modern comforts. Onsite is a double, enclosed boathouse with lighting, electricity and small dock. Bream fishing with worms or crickets off the dock is almost always successful. The stand-alone, lighted, vented grill house has multiple charcoal or wood grills and is a favorite hangout for the grillmasters. Swingset with three swings. Rustic fire pit with firewood provided. There is plenty of seating on the large, shaded deck overlooking the yard with a view of the boathouse. It is easy to drive a vehicle to the boathouse if anyone has mobility challenges.

Yellow Creek Lodge is situated on a gently sloping lawn with mature trees. Surrounding the lawn are three acres of woodlands with a shallow spring-fed stream. If you come in the winter, bring boots for the little ones and plan to wade the stream, float boats, or just explore. Lots of privacy and more than enough trees to hang hammocks. Because of the privacy, there is little-to-no water view in the summer. There is plenty of paved parking for trailers, toys and vehicles.

Board games, puzzles, books, and poker chips are supplied in the cabin.

Yellow Creek Lodge is located about 5 miles from the PCA Packaging Corporation and when the wind blows out of the North, there can be an odor in the air. Most locals are aware of the infrequent smell, but if you have never lived near a pulp mill, the odor can take you by surprise.

It's a year-round place to visit with a variety of activities. Golf at Pickwick Landing State Park’s 18-hole course. Explore Civil War history at multiple nearby sites. Shiloh National Park is less than 20 minutes away. State and local museums are in Savannah and Corinth. The famous Hagy’s Catfish Hotel is 20 minutes away. Disc golf is five minutes away. The lake is especially beautiful in the fall with the leaves in full color. The Hardin County Tennessee website (www.TourHardinCounty.org) lists lots of things to do. We would love to have you come visit!

Only guests counted in the reservation are allowed. No events or day guests.

YCL has two security cameras. One views the front driveway to help us know when our yard work is performed or maintenance is completed. A second one views the woodpile to ensure we always have firewood for guests.

YCL is located in a residential neighborhood.

Thermostats should not be set below 72 degrees in the summer.
