Only one house away from the ocean, Sweetpea's Cottage is recently renovated and one of the only homes to feature TWO master suites (including one of the largest master suites in a beach rental on Jekyll Island)! In total, there are 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms.


Your family will spend hours in the large private pool featuring a splash pad/sun deck for adults and children to enjoy. Relax in the porch bed swing as the ocean waves crash behind you. Grill the perfect beach meal on the outdoor grill while your kids splash in the family-friendly pool in a fenced-in yard. Enjoy the ultimate entertaining/dining area in the sun room, equipped with a mini-fridge for cold drinks and extra sink, that looks out over the pool.

Great house and pool - access to beach not there.

Quaint home

Home was very clean and had lots of charm. We love the Island. Pool was very nice and clean. The only problem is though the house is 100 yard from beach there is NO access you have to go to public beach. IE you have to drive to beach

Biking in Paradise

Our first trip to Jekyll Island for a biking trip. The island is a little piece of paradise. Wonderful paved and well maintained trails along the coastline, through the forested areas and throughout the island. It was so peaceful. We only took our car to drive for our evening meals. Wonderful local restaurants from casual to fine dining. The eclectic history of the island is very interesting starting before the civil war through modern times. The only negative thing I can say is we had to come home. We hated to leave and hope to visit again.

June 2021 Stay

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location near the beach was great and the pool was really nice and shady due to the beautiful trees surrounding it. Our experience could have been improved if a few more essentials had been provided. The listing is clear that there are no linens provided, but only one roll of toilet paper for the whole house is given, as well as one roll of paper towels and no laundry detergent. Also, one key didn’t work at all and the other key required so much manhandling that we were afraid to trust it. We ended up leaving the house unlocked most of the time when we left. Fortunately Jekyll seems to be a safe place.

Family vacation

Overall great property! Plenty of room to spread out. My husband and I went with our adult sons and their partners so the three bedrooms and three bathrooms worked out great. The pool was awesome- we spent a lot of time in it. The location was wonderful, it’s a small island so it was close to everything. It was older and could definitely use a deep cleaning, a fresh coat of paint, and new furniture (some of the stuff there is pretty rickety) There were 2 things that I didn’t like: 1. The listing made a big deal of beach access right there- it’s not. And won’t be for a while it looks like. You have to walk down 2 streets to get to the beach. Which is fine, it’s not that far. But it’s not 100 yards, so don’t list it as such. And 2: A house with a pool should have extra towels. There were 6 towels for 6 people so if you used it for the pool you didn’t have one for a shower. Seems like it would be pretty easy to just have an extra stack of towels. All in all we had a great time and loved the area

Last minute getaway

Truly disappointed. I reached out to the property manager several days prior to our scheduled. Date of arrival to request early check-in. I may have reached out 3 to 4 times with no response. Upon arrival, we open the door, and there was an awful stench that caught our breath. It smelled like mold, I have two family members that suffer from asthma , so not a great start. The furniture was run down, Rusty, and linen was filthy. I don’t know why we paid a cleaning service fee if we had to clean and put our own linens on our pillowcases. Additional linen was found in the closet however it was a Stuffed in the air, you would think it would at least take the time to fold it properly store it.. You could tell that the pool had not been service in quite some time, I was glad that they sent someone and did minutes they did clean it and provide clean linen. We had one roll of toilet paper for the entire week for five family members. We did not expect them to Take care of our personal hygiene needs for the week, but seriously, one toilet paper roll. Don’t think that you can easily walk to the beach, they have new properties that do not allow for guest to walk through for direct access. You have to walk towards the main road for about 2 to 3 blocks to access the beach. Truly disappointed..

Very Unhappy

Our stay was 10/14/23 - 10/20/23. We saved all year for this trip and booked in early February 2023. The house/property itself, very cute. THERE IS PHYSICALLY NO BEACH ACCESS AT ALL. &ADVERTISEMENT IS A COMPLETE LIE. 1. Cleanliness: 1/5 -Moldy/musty smell throughout home -Media room stank of wet dog -Master bath toilet not cleaned AT ALL -One twin mattress was stained badly We paid hundreds in cleaning fees, why are we stripping the linens? Ridiculous 2. Amenities: Seriously? -Twin beds, impossible for adults, should be bunk bed with full size bottom -Barely 1ft of walking space on 3 sides of “2nd Master” bed, a joke to call it “master” (horribly uncomfortable bed, didn’t get any sleep) -Broken front door, doesn’t open without hitting it SAFETY HAZARD -Dishwasher smells of burning plastic, couldn’t use SAFETY HAZARD -No access to the most convenient cabinets in kitchen have to reach above head or get on floor for storage -Lots of “do not touch” on lights/fans, home wired badly SAFETY HAZARD -Bikes taken at 830am when we wanted to take one more ride before 10am checkout -Pool cleaned ONCE a week and not checked between guests, was nasty If you are going to rent the space for guests, do not make being there so inconvenient. I do not think many issues we've had are directly the property owners fault. It seems Jekyll realty severely lacks management and follow-up all the sub companies who take care of the property between guests, such as cleaning and yard care.

Family vacation to Jekyll Island

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pictures are accurate, but furniture is very dated. None of the chairs outside could be used safely. Beautiful pool, but tree in yard made keeping the pool and patio clean very time consuming and difficult. Beach access is not available except by walking down one street over two more than back up a street so it was very inconvenient with young children. Kitchen appears to have a lot of space, but EVERY cabinet was full so all of our food had to be kept on the counters. We lost power for about 28 hours due to a storm so we had to open windows and the windowsills were disgusting from all the dirt. When the ceiling fans were off you could see how dusty they were. Trash is collected mid-week so be prepared for a smelly can with garbage in it. We arrived to shrimp tails all over the top of the trash can. Sunroom would be nice but again very dirty from things blowing in and bar stools are too rusty to use. The home is large and very welcoming, but due to the beach access not being available, furniture being a little worn and the house generally in need of a good deep cleaning we weren’t as happy with this rental as we have been with other houses we’ve rented.

May 2023 Stay

The house is cute and has a vintage vibe to it, which can be cool but the description is very misleading. First, the pool is great and worked out well for a our group. The house is just ready for a real deep clean and some basic updating. There is a general odor to the home which could be from the age of the home. The bathtubs need some attention. One shower didn’t work and one faucet didn’t work in the other. Linens weren’t taken from the prior guests which we noticed being the twin bed room had such a foul smell & we needed the sofa bed. Discovered a dirty rag and smelly shell, too. The sliding doors have to have some applied pressure in order for the lock to latch. As of May, 2023, there is no beach access on Austin or Albright Lane. You will need to bring an appropriate sized garbage bag for the kitchen container and toilet paper. Only one roll was provided for three bathrooms. We encountered a night of bad weather and found ourselves utilizing the TVs but couldn’t get 2 of the 4 to work.

Reviewer Comments: This precious cottage is warm and inviting with a well appointed and cheerfully decorated interior sitting on a peaceful street where you can hear the ocean from the screened porch and pool. Even the roses were blooming in October! The reading spot swing under the picturesque tree may have indeed been my favorite spot! Enough televisions to watch every game on a Saturday when a fall visit! The renovation of this house is just so lovely. You feel like you’re staying at a friend’s house! The only negative is the beach walkover has not been repaired from the storm even though the island website shows it open. This is not the control of owner or realty company, simply a fact I’d love to have known. It’s an easy block over to the next one or drive to another! Still their is a viewing deck that makes you feel as if you might be the only one on earth if you go out in the morning!
