Sunny two bedroom, one bath bungalow nestled on the Berkeley/Albany border in Thousand Oaks, one of Berkeley's most charming and vibrant neighbourhoods.

The property is located in a quiet residential area, but it's just one block to a lively shopping district on Solano Avenue with cafes, restaurants, bakeries, trendy shops, pubs, and bookshops. Solano Ave also has grocery stores, CVS, a post offfice, several banks, and a gas station.

Excellent ground transportation makes it easy to get around: buses to San Francisco, UC Berkeley, and the City Center are on Solano as well as buses to BART (the North Berkeley and El Cerrito Plaza BART stations are a pleasant 30-minute walk in either direction or a 7-8 minute drive). Highway 80 is easily accessible.

Ideally situated--close but not too close to UC--the house is near enough to be convenient but far enough from the hustle and bustle of campus and downtown Berkeley. Whether you're seeing family and friends, visiting the university, or daytripping around San Francisco Bay this property makes a great home base.

What a great place to stay. The location is fantastic. Close to shops and restaurants and hiking. The home was really comfortable and clean. Robert left us a bottle of wine and coffee and chocolate when we arrived. That was such a nice touch. I will definitely stay here again when we are in town!

Perfect stay

We loved this spic and span home! The beds are really comfortable, all basic needs supplied. The house is in a charming, quiet street with easy parking but a short walk to stores. Our host Robert very responsive. Great find.

Lovely home in a beautiful neighborhood

We spent nearly a week in this lovely little two bedroom home. The neighborhood is an easy drive to all of the East Bay locations that we wanted to visit during our stay. The area was quiet with tree-lined sidewalks and limited traffic. There were lots of nice restaurants and shops a short walk away. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was spacious. We hope to stay here again during our next East Bay trip.

Fine property. Dated to be sure, but comfortable. Kitchen is very basic. Few dishes/glasses etc, but nice enough if you don't plan to prepare a significant meal or entertain. Could not get on-line.

Sweet rental in a great location

We spent 4 nights in Berkeley for my mom's 80th birthday celebration. The house is a classic Berkeley bungalow, well furnished and in a great location- we could walk through the neighborhood or out to Solano for lunch/dinner/breakfast. The living room , dining room and kitchen were large enough that we could have family members come over to share breakfast with us. The kitchen was fairly well appointed. Although there were lots of walkers through the neighborhood we didn't have any noise issues or problems sleeping.

Wonderful stay!

Robert is a wonderful host - very welcoming and very responsive throughout our visit. The house is perfect and is exactly as described. In advance, we had a slight concern about on street parking, but Robert assured us that we would always find easy parking and we did. We were also a bit concerned about the house being too hot, but Robert responded by installing window units and we never felt hot. The neighborhood is quiet and just a short walk to Solano and all the shops and coffee places. We will definitely return and we appreciate everything Robert did to make our stay so enjoyable.

Fabulous Location!

Great location, extremely comfortable house. I felt as though i was in my home, being that i live in a craftsman. I loved everything about the house. Well maintained and clean. I would stay there again. Great neighborhood and made it easy to walk about town for everything.
