The sandy beach is great, but we did not realize it would be extremely shallow for nearly 800 feet from shore. We had small kids so it was nice that my toddlers could play in waist-deep water so far from us, but my older kids had to go so far from shore in order to swim rather than just splash around. The house is also 2 houses down from the public beach so we had strangers wandering into the beach area in front of the house while we were out there-- not exactly secluded. We rented for 3 full days with arrival Monday after 4pm and leaving Friday before 10am. Two of the three full days, workers came to do yard work in the backyard in the middle of the day. With how much we paid per day to be there, having motors running in the backyard rather than being scheduled for Monday or Friday when guests would not be there really took away from what we intended to be a peaceful getaway.
Beautiful cabin. Sandy beach and lake bottom was wonderful for the kids! We also loved the paddle board and kayaks. Unfortunately, the lake was extremely low (this would have been nice to know ahead of time). We could not dock the boat, we anchored it quite a ways from shore and had to walk it out even further to start it. I wish this had been disclosed. The fishing on this lake was also terrible so that was very disappointing. Not the owners fault of course, but that would have been nice to know as well. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Beds, bathrooms, and living spaces were very nice. A few little things like hand soap refills, small garbage bags for bathroom trash cans, provided hand towels, all would have been nice to have provided. Close to Nisswa for groceries. Overall, nice place for families but not for fishermen.
Wonderful property with incredible views of Pelican Lake, the beach was amazing and we spent all our time by the water. Couldn't have asked for a better week!
We enjoyed a comfortable week long stay at this lodge in June. The beach and view of sunsets were amazing! This was a great location for our large family.
This was a lovely setting for a get away with the girls. Plenty of space to spread out, though a great central gathering area with a wonderful view of the lake. We enjoyed rock hunting on the beach, shopping in Nisswa, and listening to the loons at night.
Great property for a larger group especially when the weather is nice to be outside. Wonderful yard and beach with a bonfire to stargaze, nice screened in for raining days and well equipped kitchen.
Great property for a family gathering. It was clean and provided everything we needed. We enjoyed the fireplace and steam room. We would definitely recommend this place.
We had a great stay at the cabin on Pelican Lake. Our host was very accommodating and responded to all inquiries promptly. We enjoyed the easy access to the lake and the fire place to warm up by.
Host was responsive with questions- home nice and setting was great. Overstuffing 2 of 4 bedrooms with twin beds to say "sleeps 13" creates practical problems like not being able to use closet for any guest group size. Kitchen appliances nice but the kitchen was missing key items like a baking casserole dish, regular juice glasses etc.
We stayed here over Labor Day weekend with my adult kids and grandkids. The house easily accommodated our group of 5 adults and 6 kiddos. The kitchen was well-stocked, the house was clean, beds were firm but comfortable enough. We really enjoyed our stay!
It is beautifully situated on Pelican Lake with a wonderful beach. It worked out really well for three families with 5 small children. We look forward to returning in the summer when we can enjoy the water and beach.
