Possibility of hosting events (weddings, parties, anniversaries...) in combination with the other house of the same property, the small chateau (property 6237562).
40 minutes from the beaches (Royan, islands of Ré and Oléron).

Built in the early 18th century, the Logis is part of a property that has not changed family for 200 years. This is a cozy family home that has remained preserved throughout the generations.
The region is one of the sunniest in France and famous for its beaches and the famous islands of Ré and Oléron.
Area of old traditions, notable for its architecture with the beautiful cities of La Rochelle, Rochefort, Saintes and St Jean d'Angely, Romanesque churches lost in the countryside and small villages built with local white stones.
Culinary tradition with oysters, the famous butter of the region (said to be better that the one from Normandy!), cheeses. And Cognac!

We loved this place

It was like being transported back to 1930s rural France. Beautiful house, Isabelle was superb- she even cooked us dinner and left us ice cream and bread as we arrived in a Sunday and didn’t realise all the supermarkets were closed! Borrowed their bikes and rode to Taillebourg and spent the afternoon drinking beer by the river! Pool beautiful, just great, thanks. It was tricky to find the entrance was the only thing. I would wholly recommend.

Nous avons réservé ce logement pour nous retrouver en famille (16 personnes de 7 à 77 ans ou presque) et nous avons passé un superbe séjour!Le logis et le domaine sont suffisamment grands pour que chacun puisse vaquer à ses activités (billard, ping pong, piscine, tennis, jeux vidéo, jeux de société, lecture, cuisine, vélo, foot,..), tout en conservant une taille et une ambiance conviviale pour nous permettre de nous retrouver tous ensemble lorsque nous le souhaitions.Les occupants du château, au sein du même domaine, ont été plus que discrets car nous ne les avons pas même croisés.

Nous avons passé une semaine de vacances en famille (5 familles ; 14 personnes), dans un environnement atypique et une maison magnifique ! Nous avons tous adoré cette demeure ancienne mais avec tout le confort. Expérience totalement dépaysante : un endroit unique, chaque pièce est un cocon, la terrasse et la très grande et belle piscine fermée, … tout était au top. Merveilleux séjour. Je recommande ! Des souvenirs inoubliables pour nous dans ce lieu fabuleux.

Séjour familial inoubliable dans un cadre enchanteur ! Nous avons passé un super séjour en famille dans ce superbe logis du XVIIIe siècle, niché en pleine nature.Chaque pièce respire l’authenticité. Les extérieurs sont tout simplement magnifiques : immense parc à disposition, superbe piscine, coins ombragés, chants des oiseaux… un vrai havre de paix !Petits et grands ont adoré. Tout est pensé pour un séjour confortable et ressourçant.L’accueil a été aussi chaleureux que discret, avec une vraie attention portée à notre bien-être.Un grand merci pour ce moment suspendu — une parenthèse de bonheur que nous n’oublierons pas. Séjour parfait en famille

Très beau cadre et maison parfaite en famille! Grands espaces chaleureux, maison imprégnée d’histoire tout en ayant le confort. Propriétaire très disponible pour répondre aux questions en amont. Isabelle qui nous reçoit sur place, est aux petits soins avec nous. A savoir chauffage au fioul à payer en plus. Nous recommandons vivement cette propriété pour un moment au calme. L’été avec la piscine cela doit être sublime!

Un moment magique

Nous avons passé une parenthèse magique dans le logis. Cet endroit est incroyable et chaleureux, tout est parfait, rien ne manque. Piscine très bien entretenue, billard tout neuf, immense cuisine conviviale, terrasse ombragée et parfaite pour créer un moment cosy etc…. Isabelle, la personne qui nous accueille est extrêmement sympathique et au petit soin. Encore merci mille fois de nous avoir permis de passé ce superbe week end!

Un lieu incroyable, authentique et loin des meubles IK** qu'on trouve souvent dans les locations :) L'accueil sur place est irréprochable, la piscine est somptueuse, les équipements complets (la cuisine est incroyable), et chaque chambre a sa propre salle de bains ! Truly Excellent for those liking an old but loved leather jacket

This is a fantastic property with a lovely relationship between house, terrace and pool that let's multi family occupants stay connected and private. It worked brilliantly for us even in record temperatures. We had stayed pre covid at its sister house, This one was even better for us. We used every bed. The bedrooms and mattresses very good, and whilst some showers were a bit dicky they were fixed in a day, so perhaps previous parties hadn't alerted or hadn't used the rooms. Masses of hot water, great selection of glasses, saucepans etc. Maybe upgrade the cutlery and the table mats..... and perhaps the main dining table....but if that's all we're choosing to mention you can imagine that nothing took away our great experience. The grounds are lovely and the service from onsite staff absolutely world class. Only 2 caveats you might like to know about ; First is that it is a historic house. And the owner is not trying to create an IBIS with every surface and door handle feeling like knew. It wears its age with charm and beauty and it would be a travesty to make it anaemic and immaculate. The charm would go. Second caveat is the the request for a 2k euro deposit cheque on arrival caused disquiet from some of our party, especially as we were returning guests. Either way.. don't forget to dust off and bring your cheque book. We left feeling it was a great choice for our multi family holiday

Vaste demeure jouxtant un château également loué!

Vaste maison avec de grandes pièces et une belle hauteur sous plafond. Bonne literie, belles salles de bains anciennes, charme lié à la présence de vieux meubles et d’objets de famille. Les fauteuils et canapés du salon ont vécu ! La cuisine est grande, avec un four à gaz dont le fonctionnement est un peu erratique. L'évier est petit et l'eau chaude de la cuisine est vite épuisée. Bon accueil de la gouvernante qui est à l'écoute. Merci pour le sapin de Noël . Mais très étonnés de découvrir un château également loué dont la façade est à 30/40 m de la maison que nous occupions ! Notre souhait était de louer une propriété sans autre locataire et sans avoir à partager les espaces extérieurs. Raté! L'annonce devrait être claire à ce sujet. De plus, la description de la maison fait référence à une maison de maître et enfin à une "vieille maison" dans le contrat de location! Il n'y a pas 8 chambres mais 7. 7 salles de bains et non 9. Pourquoi ces variations et imprécisions. Cette demeure n'est pas pourvue de doubles vitrages et l'étanchéité des portes et fenêtres est d'époque.( Lorsqu'il pleut, l'eau rentre dans l'entrée et d’autres pièces ...) Prévoyez donc un budget chauffage et électricité de l'ordre de 90/100 euros par jour.

Very inviting logis!

Superb « maison noble » with large rooms, very pleasant garden, beautiful views, very nice pool to soak in the sun, the views, or do laps. Lots of space inside and out to enjoy. The house itself , furnishings, decorations, create an atmosphere part frozen in time, part museum feel, which we found very comfortable to play a card game, read a book to take you back in time, just enjoy family time. And quite lucky to make new friends with the « gardien » of the property and have an opportunity to interact, get help, tips and details that enriched our overall experience. Things to note: the castle also rented at the same time has its own entrance. Grounds are for everyone to share and large enough for each group to remain « on their side » of the property and be respectful of each other’s privacy. That said, it could have been different with other people. Should be made a bit more clear upfront. Entrance to the logis is fantastic although quite dangerous to access from the main road (one car can pull in at a time, narrow road, hidden entrance, and exit equally thrilling if not chilling). The TV and Internet were not working .. reception / connection very spotty . Good thing the lodging made us feel these were not indispensable however this could have been more clear upfront. Overall a very enjoyable stay that we all wish could have lasted for many more weeks! Great location from which to discover all this region has to offer.

Maison très agréable et belle piscine

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour au logis de la Chaussée. La demeure est conforme à la description, spacieuse, bien équipée, chaque chambre dispose d'une salle de bain, la température reste fraîche à l'intérieur malgré la canicule. La terrasse est très agréable avec vue sur la superbe piscine. La région recèle de belles découvertes. Nous espérons revenir!

Family gathering

A great house for a large family gathering with lots of room. The decor is very traditional but very comfortable. A fantastic pool which is fenced off for safety. The kitchen is well equipped though we did struggle initially with the newly installed stove. This would have been a problem except for the wonderful caretaker Jean-Marie Pape who used his initiative and adapted the system to enable it to be utilised. Jean-Marie and his wife Mireille were fantastic. They responded immediately to any requests for assistance and were both cheerful and helpful. Thank you to you both. The only downside is the poor internet connection though the mobile phone signal is very good. We highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to hold a similar event.
