You can reach the nearest beaches (Madalena do Mar or Calheta) in just 10 minutes by car. You can also get to the mountains in 10 minutes by car. The house has a fantastic network of trails and levadas. There are 2 (Madalena do Mar and Achada) of more than 200 trails crossing the island's basaltic masses, taking the hiker to a rare natural world. Along these irrigation channels you will come across rare species of fauna and flora anywhere else in the world, in the Laurissilva Forest of Madeira, which has been declared a Natural Heritage of Humanity.
Nearby you can find small markets, restaurants and bars, where you can taste the famous Poncha da Madeira.
Depending on the time you visit, you can help with religious celebrations or for various events on the island, such as Christmas, New Year's Eve, Carnival, Flower Festival ...
